DCC = No worries.
Dean and his crew exceeded our expectations. We had been planning our driveway replacement for years, and had interviewed a number of contractors. Dean brought experience and confidence that none of the other contractors could match. He took our input, handled the entire process, and gave us a driveway that was even better than what we could have imagined. It was nice to finally work with a contractor that actually listens, strives to please, and doesn't nickel and dime you for every little thing. Great value for the bid, and great customer service!

Just had a slab poured and retaining wall replaced with Dean and his crew. He pricing was great, was able to fit me into his schedule a little early due to my commitments, and he never tried to cut corners. He didn't specifically spec the retaining wall but boy is that thing built well with some serious structural blocks and geomesh. Also the slab was way overbuilt. Answered questions in a timely manner and kept me updated along the way. I would choose him for all my concrete work but unfortunately don't have any more to do!

Dean & his team are great! Clear communication & attention to detail when expanding our patio & driveway. They were able to match-up the new pavement with the existing design leaving it looking like it was there all along! Highly rec these guys!

10/10! Dean and the entire DCC Construction crew were phenomenal. They cleanly demoed our existing concrete and brick and installed a tricky driveway, two concrete patios with custom patterned expansion joints, and a curved concrete walkway. All the work turned out beautifully. They were reliable and so considerate of our property, our plans, and all our questions. We will work with them again whenever possible.

Highlights:
1. Project was finished well within the originally estimated project duration.
2. Our yard and home were treated with the utmost respect. Nothing was damaged, they worked carefully around our plants and structures.
3. Dean was patient with us through the entire process, explaining how things would work and answering all our questions as they came up.

These guys can also work under stress and handle the unexpected. It turned out all the gas lines on our street were getting replaced at the same time DCC were scheduled to do our yard. During demo they navigated parking bans, work crews, backhoes and borers, and general chaos daily. And it was often 90+ degrees. And the project STILL was on time. Then, on concrete pour day, while still navigating all the SDGE construction, they orchestrated time-sensitive pours in four separate areas around the perimeter of the home, all with different elevations and pretty narrow and/or steep access points.

Final thing to note on the skill of everyone’s work: a lot of the demo and concrete poured is adjacent to our home and existing retaining walls, which definitely required added care and skill to cleanly demo and then integrate the new concrete. (The photos are from the concrete pour day, so stucco/retaining walls hadn’t yet been cleaned up—but they show what the new concrete was integrated into).

DCC Construction was awesome. I'd give Dean and his Crew more stars if I could. They worked with me to figure out the best solution for my project, We ended up matching my stamping and color of my existing patio and driveway. I'd highly recommend them to my friends and family with no reservations!

DCC Construction Company did a retaining wall and grading project for me. I had a sloping unushillside hillside and wanted it turned into three separate levels. They also had to deal with my limited budget and my wanting of a rustic style retaining wall. DCC gave a fair price and I am so glag I chose them. Dean and his guys are great. They are friendly and respectful. They work hard to limit the inpack on you and the area surrounding the project. I never dreamed that I would have use of the lower part of my property. I had delayed getting my driveway redone for about 10 years because I did not have a good referral. A couple months ago, I was at my sister's house and saw that she got her quirky weird driveway redone and it was excellent work, so I asked her who did it and she gave me Dean's number and I called him. Dean came over the next day and gave me a bid. I ended up getting my driveway, porch, pool deck and a 5 ft wide side yard walkway done. He started when he said he was going to start and finished when he said he would finish. His crew is great. they cleaned up every day and they kept my elderly dog company. If you need a concrete referral, I know a guy.

Where to begin….Dean and his crew have been working at both of my homes for a number of years. Dean is the only contractor I trust to take care of my building needs. When I call on him I can rest assured that it will be done correctly. So often now a days, you will set up a job with someone and you are not surprised when they show up late without a call, or never arrive at all. Not with Dean or the excellent workers on his crew. They are on time, friendly, and get the job completed properly. Dean is a great guy you can trust! I can’t say enough good about his business. Never had a problem in all of these years.

We had an amazing experience with Dean and his team remodeling our backyard. Highly recommended and the results were top tier at a great value. We wanted to replace our small pool area into a spacious concrete and turf combo set. They were very professional and easy to talk with. Any parts of the project we requested, Dean made it happen. No matter the obstacles he had to come across, he made it work with quality workmanship. He made sure we had the proper permits and made sure to meet city regulations upon implementation. The team also help set up a pergola we ordered at Sam's club, along with other large items we purchased from other stores, and building a gazebo for an outdoor kitchen area. We had an overall positive experience with the services from DCC with no regrets at all and are happy to recommend their services to family and friends.

The moment we spoke to Dean, we knew him and his crew would be perfect for the job. Dean is so easy to work with, responsive, and understanding to what we wanted. DCC Construction Company headed by Dean Harbin is truly the best contractor I have encountered and enjoyed working with in decades. I’m a senior citizen and a DIY'er and have been either active or on the sidelines of my own home's many upgrades. And, as a Realtor, many other projects helping my clients. Dean's staff headed by Robert is amazing. Not only do they do the finest work but they clean up every day like they have never been there. And there were items that I found were not in the quote that they knew needed to be done and just did them. I asked both Dean and Robert about that and they said that “there can be smaller things (big to a homeowner) that just don’t take that much time. They did charge me for the extra supplies (just pennies) but they literally installed extra drains with extra trenching and work and a number of other things. Dean brings his commercial experience (working with Sea World) to the neighborhood job like mine. Their corporate mindset and in working with clients is amazing. You will not be disappointed.

Shield did a complete kitchen and bathroom remodel for me. They were very friendly and nice and I was very impressed by their professionalism and skill set! Just take a look at these before and after pictures they speak for themselves! Nvr imagined they could make my kitchen and bathroom look that good!!

I often struggle to find the right person for the projects I need help done.  I shopped around and got quotes that seemed far-fetched and out of budget. Then a good friend of mine referred me to Shield.  I was very pleased and blown away by the transparency in communication and professionalism.  From demo to installation. As an individual who pays attention to detail I was very pleased with the outcome of my imported tile that I had been waiting months to install. I was more than pleased by their pricing, efficiency and giving me a beautiful dining room floor that my family loves. Which is why I plan on using them again in the spring to renovate my kitchen

Shield extended our half bathroom into a full bathroom remodel. From start to finish was a great experience. Wish I could give them 25 stars. We have 4 bedrooms but had 2.5 bathrooms at vacation home. Now we finally have 3 full bathrooms and nobody wants to use the old showers. Everybody wants to use the new one. From Rene giving initial contact and estimate. Javier being in constant contact for design ideas and suggestions. Was a huge blessing as this was the first contractor remodel we have ever done. Permits and inspections they handled it all seamlessly. They moved walls, worked around load bearing beams, new electrical lights and exhaust fan. The new shower and tile are beyond our first expectations. We received progress pictures of the plumbing and pex pipes. Our old drywall was regular white so they changed to green mold resistant. Frameless shower door is so modern. Thank you guys. True professionals

My partner and I just opened up our pilates studio in pacific beach and we had such an amazing experience with the team. Scottie our GM was knowledgeable and always on top of it which we appreciated going through construction for the first time. Javi the PM was the best and always kept the team on the timeline and executed every detail that we wanted. We are building out a second phase with them and I can't wait to use them again. highly highly recommend shield mechanical!! can't thank them enough!!

Salvador Figueroa is definitely a handyman to know. Quality work at reasonable prices. I met Sal at my mothers house. He was in the process of replacing windows. I found him to be extremely knowledgeable and personable. He not only replaced several windows at my mothers home, he upgraded her bathroom tub into a walk in shower. Solid work. I used him to replace my sliding patio door. Perfecto. Four neighbors in my culdesac ended up hiring him for various job's. From bathroom remodel to fence removal and repairs. I'll be using him for more work around my home in the near future. Thank you Sal for your hard work.
