just called to ask about fixing my fridge, and the guy (gary, i assume) was straight forward about not wasting my time or money.

I called to ask a question and they were very helpful and seemed to know what they were talking about about. Turned out I didn't have a business to give them so I thought I'd at least give they a good review for being cool.

Came by when he said he would, did a great job (including teaching me a hack so, for at least one of the issues I had, so I wouldn't have to call him in the future), cleaned everything up, and was extremely reasonable! So reasonable that, when he quoted me the price, I was sure he was just talking about the price of the part he installed.

Today I got problem with my refrigerator so just call to general refrigerator.They pick up the phone right away and coming next 20 minutes gentleman Bryan is coming and fixing my refrigerator quickly.Bryan is very nice and very professional for his job.i like very much general refrigerator service I give you guys 5star. thank you very much.

Gary came less than 30 minutes after my call. He diagnosed the problem, had the parts in his truck and was done in 45 minutes. Our 1996 refrigerator is back in operation for a tiny percent of the cost of a new one.

After I told him that my fridge was dead (and possibly because he heard the panic in my voice), Gary showed up in about an hour. He was professional and courteous and his pricing was more than fair. He's a hero.

Gary diagnosed a simple problem in my refrigerator over the phone and I was able to fix the problem in minutes. The icemaker, which we don't use, had accidentally been turned on, causing a noise that I could not figure out. After I described the problem, Gary suggested I move the icemaker "wire" into the up position, shutting off the icemaker. Problem solved! Thanks Gary; we recommend you highly.

My fridge went out recently & I found Gary. He diagnosed the problem and told me he had the part on hand. He fixed it right there on the spot. His prices are fair. Definitely recommend him if your fridge needs a fixing!

My refrigerator stopped working. I called Gary and he rescheduled a less urgent appointment and came right over. From the time I called until the time he left was less than 30 minutes and my refrigerator works better than before!

Our refrigerator was making a loud noise and we had out of town guests staying with us. It was Saturday morning and we were all going to San Francisco later that morning. I called half a dozen different appliance repairmen to see if someone could come out to tell me what was wrong with the refrigerator. No one would come to our house until the following Monday morning.
Then I saw 4.9 rating for General Refrigeration Services Co. on Google reviews and gave them a call. Within an hour and a half they were at my home and fixed the refrigerator. The cost was more than reasonable.
I'll definitely use this firm for all my future appliance repairs.

There are not enough stars here to express my gratitude to Gary for his integrity, fast, efficient, informative, expert work. He literally saved me tons of money (avoiding the expensive purchase of a new GE Profile refrigerator, as smugly advised by one of the sales people at General Appliance of Berkeley), and time rearranging obligations and appts. to get this resolved.

The freezer and refrigerator temperature had been rising for a few weeks. I didn't think anything of it at first, since hitting reset, the temp would go back down during the course of the day to the default 0 and 37. The fridge was always running. Eventually, the resetting stopped working, & the temp rose to 60 inside fridge and freezer. I researched on-line about this problem for this 11-yr. old model of the GE Profile, and tried some suggested things like resetting the refrigerator (i.e., unplugging it from the wall for at least 30 seconds), and thoroughly vacuumed and cleaned behind and under the fridge. None of it worked.

Of course, this happened on a saturday, and after a lengthy process of making calls from one repair person to another, I was referred to Gary. But it was saturday after 5pm that I left a desperate message on Gary's machine. It seemed hopeless to expect any repairs over the weekend - especially sunday. But thankfully - on his day-off - Gary called me sunday morning, came over to my home within a half-hour of his call, and was quickly able to diagnose and fix a faulty mother-board which (among other things) controlled the compressor which controls the temperature. He had all the parts he needed in his truck. He replaced the mother-board, pushed the fridge back, didn't charge me for the trekk from oakland to richmond, and charged only for parts and labor - $350!! That's a hell of a lot cheaper than $2,000 for a new one! Nothing else wrong with the fridge. He bought me another 20 yrs. of refrigerator-life by replacing the mother-board, and great peace of mind! Thank you Gary for your kind, generous, professional, and excellent work! Gary deserves WAY beyond 5 stars - 10 stars and beyond!!!

GARY IS ETHICAL, HELPFUL, FRIENDLY AND RESPONSIVE!

Woke up on a Saturday am to find water all over our wood floor. Fridge and refrigerator were warming up but light was still on and motor running. While moving all the perishables to another unit, I called everywhere near us (Danville) but everyone on vacation, didn't work weekends, or didn't answer their phone. GE couldn't come out for 3 days, and Sears also...plus they sold me a $274 smart plan that includes service fee and parts up to $500 and warranty, refundable thank goodness because.....

THEN I looked outside my area and Gen Refrigeration Service's Gary answered the phone and said he could come in 2 hours!! But first suggested that I try turning off the breaker for 5 min, then turn on and wait. IT'S COOLING!! He called me 1/2 hr before he said he could come out to check on how things were and said he could come right now. Well, things are still working and NO CHARGE; he thanked ME for calling him! I'm sending him a Starbucks gift card and reviewing him on all the websites I can find, plus posting on Facebook. I have never experienced such appliance repair service. What started out as a bad weekend, turned out to be a reminder of the good in people, thanks to Gary from General Refrigeration Service Co.
