Eshel Chardon and his company did an excellent job of building my self standing patio cover. He was able to negotiate the difficult permit process and finished the project on-time and on budget. We went with Happy Bay construction for our 3 month carport and driveway project based largely on reviews and their comparatively reasonable quote for the project. Upon meeting Eshel and Ali, we knew customer service and communication were as important to them as it was for us.

Their management of our project was exemplary. We were kept informed of each step along the way. Although they must have had other projects occurring simultaneously, their attention to ours was as we had hoped–progress was continuous. The only delays we recall were waiting for the rain to cease before pouring the cement and a brief delay waiting for county inspectors to approve footings. Eshel and Ali made sure we knew about the delays in advance by personally coming over to let us know. Face to face communication was the most common form of communication and frequent reviews of each phase of the project gave us the confidence that we would get exactly what we wanted. We made a couple of design changes along the way. Eshel let us know the pros and cons matter of factly and was creative about options to achieve our goal. It was clear his aim was to produce a product that we would be proud of.

We were most impressed with the care and pride each member of their team had for their work. This is a rare sight and it was a joy to see. Through the duration of the project, our neighbors shared their amazement of the progress and workmanship of this team. The project was completed on time, with time to spare, and on budget. Needless to say, we love our new carport and driveway as well as the experience of working with such a caring group of professionals. Thank you Eshel, Ali, Aldo and your team. It was truly a pleasure.

We needed to replace our porch after discovering rot while painting the front-stairs. We looked around for different quotes, there were very low and the very high. Happy Bay Construction came in on the moderate price scale. Eshel & Ali's team were professional in preforming all aspects of the job. We had to order our security door which had taken 2 mos. to receive. The team was long done finishing the porch project, but their team came back even after fully paid. Eshel, Ali & their team has the upmost INTEGRITY. It is absolutely refreshing to finally find someone that has such professionalism and concerns in your projects. Thank you guys!

We hired HB Construction for two jobs - a deck and bathroom - and couldn’t be more pleased with the results. The craftsmanship and attention to detail were of the highest standards. We had minor issues on both jobs, which were corrected satisfactorily at no additional cost. The workers were both cordial and respectful of our home. When I tell you that this is THE best construction company— I mean it with my whole heart. This group of individuals not only went above and beyond our dream of a studio apartment, but completely blew us away with their efficiency, kindness, and maximization of such a small space. My mother was the head of telling all the things she wanted to for the space, and brother duo Eshel and Ali were perfect for the job. I originally hired Eshel, founder of Happy Bay Construction, for work on a property in San Francisco. I needed to rebuild the existing front porch and stairs as well as create a back staircase and reinforce the deck. Happy Bay showed up on time and finished the job ahead of schedule. They did such a terrific job that I hired them to paint the exterior of the property. As the house came alive, we needed to replace the driveway and build a retaining wall. This too was done in a timely fashion. There is NOTHING that Happy Bay Construction cannot provide.

I think the best review is when the person rehires the same company for a different project. To date I have hired Happy Bay Construction on more than ten projects and they are currently finishing up a bathroom remodel in Sonoma County.

Eshel and the Happy Bay team provided excellent service and craftsmanship. This was our first home renovation, and we had been warned about all the things that could go wrong, but with Eshel’s team (and maybe a little luck!) everything went smoothly without any major issues.

The project timeline was exactly as quoted, and whenever changes came up, Eshel clearly laid out options at different price points, which made decision-making easy. We remodeled two bathrooms at the same time and also had an old dumbwaiter removed and converted into closets. The crew was professional, friendly, and respectful throughout.

We were also on a tight deadline with a new baby on the way, and the team made the process as stress-free as possible. Even without a designer, Eshel was extremely helpful in guiding us through tile, finish, and design choices.

We would absolutely hire Happy Bay again and highly recommend them, especially if it’s your first remodel.

Happy Bay helped us put our home back together after it was remediated for water damage. In total they reconstructed 3 rooms, 2 closets and a bathroom. We also had them refinish our stairs.

The communication was amazing, always fast and honest. The crew was respectful of our home, friendly, and the end results were absolutely beautiful. As with any project of this size, there were little hiccups along the way, but Eshel always addressed them quickly and made sure everything was taken care of.

I also very much appreciate that we had the ability to pick out the finishes and colors and that they were willing to work with all the different materials... some of the other contractors we talked to when we were collecting bids seemed to only want to work with the materials that they use regularly. I love our new unique space!

i've been dealing with a leak in my condo for a few years, and after a few other contractors attempted to fix the issue, it remained. i used to love the rain, until it started to seep into my unit. after connecting with eshel, i was confident that he could finally resolve the issue. his team did an AMAZING professional job that also included working with our neighbors. i am incredibly grateful for the efficiency, great work ethic, and timely communications and updates throughout this project. the work was projected for 5 work days, and they were done in 4! this was 10 star work!!! THANK YOU ESHEL and team!!!

We used Happy Bay Construction to fully renovate our main bathroom, replace a few fixtures and vanity in our half bathroom, and installing new drywall.

Our quest to get the bathroom renovated began over 10 months ago when we reached out to over 15 contractors for estimates. Different contractors brought up different things. The estimates were all over the place. Some were overt in their salesmanship. After talking to a few contractors, we developed a framework for what questions to ask to probe whether they're actually good, see what things they bring up about what would make the project complicated, etc. Eshel and his brother impressed us by bringing up almost everything others mentioned, and being very thorough about taking measurements etc. He provided a fair quote (middle of the pack) and was willing work around our schedule and start the renovation 6 months later.

The renovation itself (demo, plumbing, electrical, drywall, countertop, shower glass installation) all went as planned. The workers were great and respectful. What I appreciated with Eshel is that he was very accommodative and did not nickel+dime us. Screwless wallplates? Of course! Baseboards to match the rest of the house? No problem. Medicine cabinet doesn't fit inside the wall? No worries, we'll build you a wooden frame from scratch. Downstairs bathroom toilet was loose? Let me have my guy bolt it for you for free. Stuff like that.
He provided good feedback on design choices (for e.g., a handle on the shower door will look way better than a towel bar) and tradeoffs we needed to make.

The finishing touches took longer than expected to finish, because there's just so many things to take care of... but it's also because we have a very keen eye for the details. There were a few installation-related issues afterwards, but Eshel sent his guys as many times as was needed (and even paid for a replacement part because of a worker issue) until the bathroom was perfect.

Lastly, Eshel was very responsive over text, including with our custom woodworker, who said "Eshel was a pleasure to work with and despite some scheduling complications, he and his team stayed on top of all the issues".

tl;dr – Eshel and Happy Bay were wonderful to work with, and we're trying to figure out other home projects that they can help us with, just as an excuse to work with Eshel and team again in the future! :)

We used Happy Bay Construction to replace the foundation of our shed and replace the flooring. Working with Happy Bay Construction was such an enjoyable experience and Eshel was great to work with. He was always responsive via phone or email and every day would give us an update on the project. While it was a smaller project, everything ran on time and we are extremely happy with the end result. We would definitely use Eshel and Happy Bay Construction for future projects.

Happy Bay Construction was the perfect choice for our full-gut bathroom reno! We had a strict deadline and budget (baby on the way) and Eshel and his team knocked it out of the park- no unexpected delays or upcharges, reliable crew daily, and they finished 95% of the work in three weeks! We only have one bathroom and the crew was super gracious in putting our toilet back in place as soon as possible, even if they had to take it out again to tile, etc. Eshel did a great job checking in and keeping us updated, as well as being accommodating for small changes. The crew was super respectful and careful to protect the other spaces in our home. Even so, our porch paint took a bit of a beating durning the demo, no problem, unprompted Eshel offered to color match & paint the whole thing. So nice! Not to mention, my bathroom is BEAUTIFUL! I'm obsessed! They did a really great job and the experience was actually smooth and stress free. Do yourself a favor and hire them for your project!
