We called to make an appointment and he was able to give instructions over the phone that helped resolve the problem without needing someone to come out. He asked basic questions and said that since we had already done some things to resolve the issue that he would walk us through a couple of more things first before making an appointment. Within 5-10 minutes the issue was resolved. Great resource and very helpful, trustworthy and honest.

Bene Electric is excellent. They will be our forever electricians. Right from the initial contact, job definitions, proposal through the completion of the work and cleanup they were beyond expectation. We had several unexpected opportunities (problems) which they worked through with us to the satisfaction of both parties. We have already started on our next major project with them.

Thank you very much Mr. Bene! I was successful in resetting the GFCI plug in the garage. The reset button popped out, so I just pushed it back in according to the instructions on the GFCI plug. The power is all back in both bathrooms and the outside patio. You are absolutely right, they are the GFI loop. I forgot I used the reset button in the garage to bring the bathroom power back a very long time (decades?) ago.

It’s disappointing that the two young electricians from the HVAC company didn’t know anything about the GFCI plug. The second electrician took 5 hours to diagnose the problem and made a wrong assumption that an active wire in the master bathroom outlet was cut by the first electrician and it dropped inside the wall. The second electrician suggested cutting open my master bathroom wall to look for the assumed cut wire behind the wall, drilling a big hole in the stud next to a light switch to junction power to the adjacent outlet, or fishing a wire and junction power from the light switch up to the attic, then coming back down to the master bathroom outlet that lost power. He said he only repairs drywall after it has been cut, but he doesn’t do wall texturing and painting when I have the drywall compound, knockdown texture spray, matching paint and supplies. He said it would take him a whole new day to do the wiring. I refused to have my wall cut open or stud drilled with a big hole when his diagnosis was based on an assumption. I felt something was not right so I called in the pro by emailing you for your help.

Mr. Bene, you have just saved me from nightmare suggestions by inexperienced electricians. I will stay away from journeyman electricians without their boss on-site from now on. I am very grateful for your help, advice and guidance. I respect that you are a sincere, helpful, professional and exceptionally experienced licensed electrical contractor. Once in a great while, you get to meet a very special person that is equally gifted technically. After spending about a half day with fighting with PG&E because my towel warmer ceased to work after a power outage, I decided to browse the internet and found Bene Electric. Their reviews seemed pretty good so I called and immediately felt like I was speaking with someone that cared and genuinely wanted to help when Cole answered the phone. He was professional, polite and knowledgeable. Once I described the problem, he concluded on the phone that, most likely, it was the controller and instructed me on how to test it in an effort to save the cost of a service call. Well, I really didn't feel comfortable testing 100 volt equipment so he offered to come by the house. It took him just a few minutes to confirm what he initially diagnosed...it was the controller. He bypassed the controller and got the towel warmer working manually while I look for a supplier that sells the controller. The price was very reasonable and he offered to come back once I find the controller and just continue with the original service call. I was blown away by his kindness, his professionalism, and his honesty, not to mention great value. You will not be disappointed with this company...they are one of a kind.

Cole did a very good job from start to finish. He was at my house the same day I called and provided a common sense solution. He completed the job as described, with no complications. It was a pleasure working with Cole.

I had an issue on Thanksgiving Day where my panel was destroyed over a tree root entangling the PG&E live wire, and PG&E was forced to shut my power off. The initial electrician I contacted unfortunately ghosted me after a week in a half.

Still homeless, I reached out to Mr. Bene.

One thing I was impressed with Mr. Bene was that he KNEW the problem right away just by looking at the pictures and could even IDENTIFY the brand of the panel. He was very truthful and honest and even came the next day to look in person free of charge.

But one thing I appreciated is how Mr. Bene went out to bat for me. He constantly communicated with PG&E for me and navigated through their bureaucracy and advocated that I was without power for nearly five weeks (at that point). He has contacts with the city and was able to get the permitting done just like that. The day he came to actually replace the panel he was considerate, wearing masks and feet covers, and finished extremely quickly. I expected a full day; he was done in only two hours. All while cracking jokes and making me feel less alone in a miserable situation.

Mr. Bene takes care of everyone, especially those who live in Pleasanton. Reach out to him first. He is simply the best. His prices are reasonable and he cares for those who get the raw end of the stick. He is very responsive via email, cell or on the phone. I've recommended him to every single one of my neighbors, and those who met him while he was working on my panel asked for his business card because he is someone we all know we can trust.

I needed an electrician to inspect my home electrical panel, to ensure that it was up to code for the home sale. Cole was professional and detailed in his inspection and explanation of the wires and circuit breakers in the 300 amp panel. My first time using him, but I will use him again at the new house to install a transfer switch to power the house by a home generator!

We are very happy with the work done by Bene Electric.

We had three bids before selecting an electrician. We rejected one bid as unreasonably high, and the remaining two were almost identical. We selected Bene Electric because we liked Cole Bene. Cole inspected our house and was curious about how things worked. His curiosity led us to tell him about a stairwell light that was supposed to be three-way but only worked as two-way. We had not thought about fixing it but Cole ended up fixing it.

This is the work that we had done:
1) Install new and larger electric panel
2) Install wiring and LED lights for foyer (3), pantry (1), tv room (4), hallway (2), master bedroom (4), closet (2). Installing the tv room lights including replacing a 3-gang switch panel with a 4-gang panel which was pretty complicated.
3) Install new electric outlet in bathroom
4) Install new electric outlet in tv room (on ceiling)
5) Move insecure electric outlet in tv room
6) Fix 3 way switches for stairwell light
7) Fish a dvd cable from ceiling through attic and wall to outlet

Everything works well and looks good.

We will definitely want to use Bene Electric when any electrical work is needed.
