Where the work shined was in the pavers and ground leveling — we were genuinely impressed with what the team delivered there. Highlights included the ground leveling to direct rainwater away from the house, the driveway and walkway installation, the clean connections to the side walking paths, and the curved cut pavers, which were a nice touch.

Where the work fell short was in almost everything above ground, as well as communication around post-project details like permit information and missing drainage equipment.

The Gate: The hinges are visibly exposed, and the initial installation included random screws that had no business being there — the "fix" was simply removing them. The black cross bars are mismatched in height, suggesting one was installed upside down. The gate also doesn't sit evenly when closed.

The Lights: The first installation wasn't to spec despite being explained multiple times — one of the lights designed to shine toward the house was pointed outward. It was eventually corrected, though the fix required drilling a number of extra holes that are now visible.

The Permit: A curb cut in our city requires a permit, something we discussed and included in the contract. We're still waiting on that information from the team.

The Bench: This was the biggest disappointment. We sent the design to the team multiple times and clearly communicated that we wanted a floating bench. They had no questions — and built something that looked like a park bench. When we raised our concerns, they promised to make it right, only to deliver another non-floating bench and tell us what we wanted wasn't possible. To make matters worse, the stain used on the wood has since dripped down onto the planter wall and bench legs.

For the price we paid, we expected better quality on anything above the ground.
