Dan oversaw the framing that was needed for the installation of a garage door in my carport and also oversaw the replacing of two huge beams that were supporting my deck that had rotted. He did a great job, on time, cleanup, skillful painting. I highly recommend Dan Burton and his crew.

We hired Gabriel of Burton Builders to build a custom high-end ADU in our backyard and were impressed at every stage of the build. He had highly skilled crews who took the time to do the job right. I can't recommend this company highly enough. After getting several conflicting proposals with widely different recommendations, we called Burton Builders on a recommendation from a friend who had used them and loved them. From the moment we called, communication was friendly and smooth. Gabriel was very clear with scheduling an appointment. He is great to work with—a great communicator who knows all aspects of building. Most of all, we have the utmost trust in his opinion and are grateful to have found him.

Burton built a beautiful extension on a 100 year old shed space to convert it to an ADU. The space was extremely tricky but they made the most of it and the result is truly great. They use a lot of subs so scheduling was definitely a puzzle but we had no more trouble than we anticipated given how quirky a project it was. We are very happy with how it came out.

Gabe and Daniel from Burton managed most of our ADU build in Marin County and were a true pleasure to work with - transparent, responsive, friendly, responsible. There will always be issues and delays with construction projects of any size, so you need a GC who can manage them effectively and with a good attitude. Burton does this as well as you could hope for. In the end, the ADU was well built and delivered on budget and reasonably on time (considering the arduous regulatory/permitting environment here in Marin). Whenever there was an issue to resolve, Daniel answered the phone, was happy to help, and got things figured out quickly. Can't ask for much more, especially considering the reasonable cost.

5 star recommendation from us. We worked with Dan and team on multiple projects and kept rehiring them bc they are communicative and professional. We hired them initially to build an ADU. When they were done with that we hired them to replace the stucco on the side of our walls as well as do elective reinforcements. Along the way every specialty got called upon: electrical, plumbing, roofing, insulation, mildew issues, painting, drywall, etc. We were pleased with all of the work. We even hired them to fix something in a bathroom that a previous contractor had messed up bc we trust Burton to do it right, and pass every inspection the first time. Moreover, you just feel like you are in good hands when you work with them. Dan gives great advice and every time he was over we peppered him with even more questions about adjacent projects and he was always more than happy to give his opinion- we have come to value his opinion greatly after working with him over 2 years and he’s a very welcome and reassuring presence to have around for any project.

A note on price: ultimately we realized you get what you pay for and these guys are worth it. They were never the highest or the lowest quote, but they were in the range of quotes we would get. We tried other contractors with lower prices and paid handsomely for it in mistakes, inefficiency, and ultimately paying Burton to come in and fix it correctly in the end.

I can't thank Burton enough for completing this project! They came in to a less than ideal situation (our previous contractor left us in a lurch) and turned the situation around.
Throughout the entire process they were communicative & professional. They really cared about our family & how much this project meant to us on a personal level.
