We recently worked with Burton Builders on a full kitchen remodel, and we couldn’t be happier with the results. From start to finish, the team demonstrated exceptional craftsmanship and attention to detail. They understood how important it was to maintain the character of our home, which features dark wood paneling throughout. They went above and beyond to find the perfect wood and stain to match, and the end result is seamless - our new pantry and laundry closet look like they’ve always been part of the original design.

The communication throughout the project was excellent. Even when we encountered some delays, the team made sure we were always informed and understood the reasons behind them. They were incredibly collaborative and patient, working closely with us on both big decisions and small design details to ensure everything turned out exactly as we envisioned.

The lead contractor Leo was fantastic to work with. He and the rest of the crew were professional, respectful, and consistently hardworking. The finished kitchen is beautiful, functional, and perfectly in tune with the style of our home. We’ll absolutely work with Burton Builders again for future projects and highly recommend them to anyone looking for quality and care in their remodel.

We used Burton Builders to build a second home in our backyard and couldn't be happier with the whole process. Burton is experienced, honest, transparent, responsive and always had great communication throughout our project. Our project was to turn a detached garage into an ADU. They were familiar with working in Berkeley, guided us through the process, listened to our requests, and mitigated our concerns throughout the project. We appreciated help from the team to suggest fixtures/design and are very happy to have stayed within budget. We love our ADU and are fortunate to have found Burton.

We recently had a 550 sq ft ADU built in Alamo, CA, and we’re thrilled with the end result! The project was managed by Daniel Burton, who was very responsive and made sure everything stayed on track. He was always available for questions and kept us updated regularly, often communicating multiple times a week.

The construction team as a whole was excellent. The crews were professional, kept the site clean, and demonstrated quality workmanship throughout the project. Any change orders along the way were fairly priced, and the overall cost of the ADU was reasonable.

If something wasn’t quite to my satisfaction, I felt confident it would be addressed, and it always was. Their attention to detail and commitment to getting things right really stood out.

We’re so happy with how our ADU turned out and highly recommend this team for any construction project.

Button Builders did an excellent job with our ADU project. I was especially appreciative of how Daniel communicated throughout the process—he kept me updated on progress, timelines, and any issues that came up. They were excellent at staying on schedule, and even when I wanted to make changes along the way, Daniel always found a way to accommodate my requests. Daisy and Gabriel were fantastic with billing—clear, transparent, and easy to follow—and they were persistent in coordinating with outside parties like PG&E and the City of Berkeley. The craftsmanship in our new two-bedroom, two-bath ADU exceeded our expectations, and the project was completed within the promised timeframe. We couldn’t be happier with the final result and would highly recommend Button Builders.

We use ward for foundation replacement. Communication was good and responsive. The work ends on time which is great.

Great company really clean fast and the workers are really respectfull..

After struggling thru two rainy seasons with quick fixes for water in the basement, we had Ward come out, expertly diagnose then expertly fix/prevent the problem from happening again. We were able to travel this winter without worrying.. These guys know what they're doing..

Ward Construction installed a drainage system. They provided a detailed review of the foundation and explained several possible solutions. They also gave me a detailed estimate and time line for the work. It was completed as described. The team is responsive to calls and questions, and met with me to explain details. It was a very good experience and I highly recommend this company for any job related to foundation work and drainage.

Ward Construction installed a French Drain along the site of my house in late 2022, right before the epic rain in December/January. The drain worked, the basement is dry and I am very happy. His team was professional, fast and cleaned up well. I would recommend Ward Construction to anyone.

The entire experience of working with the team of Ward Construction was nothing but positive. The work was completed on time and the crew was fantastic. They even informed me of a leak in my water heater which I was not aware of. Great job!

I had Ward Construction remove and replace a failing retaining wall (6 foot exposure by 45 ft long) several years ago. Ward created the new design, drafted blueprints, arranged for the county permits and inspections, provided million dollar proof of insurance to East Bay Regional parks (we share a boundary with EBRPD) and managed all aspects of the project and sub-contractors. Over the years I've had numerous construction and renovation projects completed on several homes by various contractors. Ward Construction was the most professional and honest, easiest to deal with, most on-time, hardest working and most cost-effective contractor that I've worked with. At our final county inspection, the inspector measured everything against the permit documents, shook my hand and simply said "beautiful work". I can recommend Ward Construction without reservation.

Great experience with Ward Construction a few months ago. They did a major drainage project in our house. Top quality work and a wonderful crew that communicated very well. We would definitely recommend them.

Best contractors I've met.

For 2 years, we worked with Lawrence Construction on a high-end remodel project in North Berkeley. The original house was a 1400 sqft split-level 2 br / 1 ba, originally built in 1936, which we converted into a 3000 sqft modern house.

Tom, Jason and Michael were great to work with, and I particularly appreciate their attention to detail, and devotion to quality. Friends I talk to who have gone through remodel projects complain about shoddy work, ill-fitting details, and bad execution. Lawrence Construction is the opposite: Everything fits, everything works, and if it doesn't, they fix it. The craftsmanship of the work is excellent.

If you have the chance to work with Lawrence Construction on your project, you should.
