Electrical reviews in Sacramento, California

Okay . . . you've all seen em. All those kids with the matching polo shorts that canvas your neighborhood on sunny days to shill for solar install packages. It's often either a hard close (a sales term reference to sealing the deal right then) or the kid at your door is vetting you for another visit by a more seasoned vendor-agent . . . who attempts that hard close. We've been through many of these impromptu visits over the years. Most of them are very vague about specifics but long on promises as to the benefits of imbuing one's home with sun power. To establish legitimacy, they tout their number of years in the industry, the type of panels they use, their excellent record, and oh yes . . . how much money you're going to save on power once you spend a bundle on the actual install. The pitch is always hard and if you don't 'close' right then but ask to review the literature and then call back later with more questions, these same vendors can be a long time in responding (if they ever do).
It's important to note the negative experiences first because they stand in sharp contrast to our dealings with Solectric . . . a privately owned and yes . . . LOCAL (to West Sacramento) solar services provider. You see, after working with four separate large company vendors, we stumbled upon Daniel Navarrete's business via review sites like this. We liked what we read and invited him over. During that initial visit, he explained everything to us . . . in as much detail as we wanted and did not rush the process. We then went back and educated ourselves via all the web literature available on the subject and then asked Daniel to return. And he did! The next day! He answered our questions, provided supporting documentation for what he was stating, and then encouraged us to continue researching. We did in fact do this (hey . . . a solar install is a home investment of no small cost and something not to be taken lightly). Daniel was responsive to all our questions and indeed came over on appointment two more times as we compared his services to some of the others that were out there. By the end of it, we knew what we wanted, how much power we wanted to produce, what the impact on our daily lives would be regarding the use of that power, what the products would look like on our home, and how much it would cost. Daniel literally drew out several plans of installation at our request and made sure WE were satisfied before ever discussing the final contract. Once we determined what we wanted in terms of material and equipment, that all important final 'price' discussion was easy . . . a natural extension of our previous meetings and not something that made us feel like we were buying a used car.
At the end of the entire process (install only took a couple of days for 20 panels) he personally walked through the city inspector and handled the PG&E processing for us . . . and even got us set up with the iPhone app to monitor our system.
So . . . the bottom line up front is that we recommend Solectric without reservation. If you're looking to make this kind of investment, you owe it to yourself to have Daniel come in and do a consult . . . especially if you've had some experience dealing with other companies out there. It will be time well spent! -
Daniel and Eddie presented a custom solar plan for my house and went the extra mile and expense to get the plans into SMUD before SMUD’s connection fee increase deadline.
Daniel, Alex and Eddie worked hard to install the upgraded electrical panel and solar panels and worked well coordinating with the city inspectors and SMUD. They ran into some unforeseen issues upgrading to the new panel because of my old house and were extremely fair in correcting the issues and completing the installation.
I would definitely recommend the local company of Solelectric. -
We just finished a significant solar installation with Dan @ Solectric and could not have been happier. Besides the favorable reviews and strong references, one of the primary reasons we selected Solectric was Dan's hands-on, personal involvement. Happy to report that is exactly what we got and the experience was terrific. Dan is a true professional and took the time to make sure we understood all aspects of what we were buying. Dan made the whole process smooth and even helped us with an un-related issue that the inspection turned up. Highly recommend Solectric!

I don’t have enough great things to say about this company. Daniel is not only extremely knowledgeable about his craft but he is extremely professional. He will do what it takes to earn your business. His prices are hard to beat and you get a great final product! I mentioned something to him about needing a light fixture installed behind my house. After he finished the solar job, he installed and wired my light fixture for free! Daniel is a stand up dude and I would recommend him over and over again!

Solectric moved our Tesla invertor for us. Their techs were responsive, easy to work with, and got the work done in a single day. We were in a bind before this, but they were able to add us to their schedule quickly. Highly recommend!

The Solectric team was great to work with. From the owner to the office staff to the installers. They were professional and responsive, and were extremely competitive price-wise, which is impressive given that they're installing Sunpower panels. They paid attention to the details on the install, going the extra mile to make it look clean and unobtrusive as possible. It is evident they take pride in their work. They were COVID cautious and it didn't slow them down. I cannot recommend this team enough.

Should you go solar? Yes! Should you work with Solectric and SunPower? Not sure. I was initially very happy with my system, then in the second year I noticed some production decline. Did the obvious, washed the panels really well, started paying closer attention to my bill and the data from SunPower.
I contacted SunPower customer support they said to reset the system, worked great for a while then production tapered again. Contact customer support, reset the system, goes up, goes back down etc... numerous times. Eventually SunPower starts throwing out other possible issues, all directed at me, Internet connection, rats chewing wire etc. This is when I realize their system is not at all advanced. There is no monitoring and remote diagnostics is crude, meanwhile I have a new part time job monitoring my system and reseting. I've looked for rats and crawled around my attic testing connections. SunPower eventually tells me to go bother the installer.
Where I get to explain this all over again and field the same accusations that clearly I am wrong. Then they want me to sign a contract before they do any diagnostics, which I refuse. A tech comes out, does some software updates, agrees that something is not right, doesn't do any further tests. It was raining that day, hard to diagnose with little sun... Production taper consists, I email to schedule an appointment, appointments get cancelled. I reset production goes up, I monitor, production ceases entirely, I reset. Oh, its working great we don't need to come out... Wash rinse repeat.
I'm not happy, unfortunately you can't just unload a solar system. You are stuck with it. You buy it, it's yours. It's a collection of parts that is ultimately yours to maintain. SunPower used to have a stellar reputation, that was before the Maxeon split. Solectrec's great reviews are from older jobs. I understand the solar business has gotten tough in California, people blame the utilities rightly but it's the IBEW that has Newsom's ear as well.
Regrets? Yes, I should have been a little more patient with Tesla. Their systems are very cookie cutter, but their tech is good. In spite of all the click bait headlines I've had very good service with my six year old model 3. Now that I've had all this experience troubleshooting my system, I realize the system is really not that complicated. I'd probably build my own system, if I were to do it again. It's certainly my system now. -
They have come through for me in reinstalling and installing solar panels after the initial installation company completely failed. It took months to get things right and they have. Moving forward I would never hire anyone else to do my solar panel but them. Excellent communication and installation.

I use Solectric to clean my panels every year. They always do a great job.

Dan and the entire Solectric team were fantastic to work with for our Enphase battery installation. Dan is a great resource on the various options of battery technology. His pricing was fair and he was never pushy. His team was respectful of my house and property; the installation is professional and clean. Solectric coordinated the City of Oakland and PGE for permitting, shutoffs, service upgrades, which was no easy task. I am glad I chose to go with Solectric and will be using them for future panel upgrades.

I don't usually write reviews but Daniel and company did great work for us on our solar panels. He was open and informative, answering all of our questions. The work was fast and even during COVID, he was able to get permits and clearance approved by the city of W Sacramento in record time. The installation was problem free and we are now enjoying our solar panels.

Solectric has just completed the installation and connection for my new solar system and I could not be more pleased with their services! I initially got quotes from another company (Illum) but my contact person would never get back to me to answer my questions and weeks would go by. My goal was to get my panels installed before the end of the year. Daniel with Solectric was awesome at answering my never ending questions and finding out details for financing questions as needed. I wanted the latest, most high-tech, best-you-can buy model of panels and Daniel hooked me up with the very best. My panels look great! The Solectric crew went above and beyond for me taking special care to fix a broken roof tile, cut my tree back from shading the panels, and installing a lovely owl on top the roof to scare away birds from leaving droppings. My PG&E bill has steadily climbed to almost double what it was for each month of the year the previous year, yet my energy consumption had not changed. Making the switch to solar could not come soon enough financially! I want to also mention Priscilla and how prompt she is at replying to my emails, she even replied after work hours and on weekends. I have been treated with exemplary courtesy by the entire team and know I am in good hands. This is not a pushy company when inquiring either, they give you the facts and have many great options for financing. I highly recommend Solectric to everyone and hope to see my neighbors take the same route I did soon. The paperwork was all completed via Esigning documents which was easy and safe during COVID. The team members always arrived with masks on and practiced social distancing. I can't say enough about how wonderful my experience has been!

The install was done one year ago and the system has been working great. I am saving money on my electric bill as I write this review. Here are some of my observations: Even after the install, I was impressed that they take/took the time to respond to my calls and answer my questions. Yes, I found them to be very professional and responsive. The workers that came to install at my home always went out of their way to be nice. If you are looking for good quality, professional, responsive work, then I strongly recommend them.

Had a great experience working with Daniel at Solectric. His initial presentation for solar panels on our home was informative. He focused more on the details of the product instead of pressuring a sale. He was involved in every step of the installation and kept us updated throughout the whole process. He even found some pipes on our roof that were in bad shape and offered to fix those free of charge. Would definitely recommend him to anyone thinking about getting solar!

I've worked with Daniel on two projects now. He did some earlier electric work for me, and most recently put in a 4.8kW rooftop solar installation. I've been very pleased with working with Daniel and his team. They are very professional and the quality of the work is outstanding. I would definitely recommend Solectric for your solar installation.

I have been reviewing different solar options for several years and was not satisfied with any until I spoke to Daniel and he presented his proposal. He is the consummate of a professionalisms. His proposal was easy to understand, reasonably priced, and exactly what I was looking for in a solar system. That is only the start of my overwhelming satisfaction with his company's work. Their exterior instillation has a better appearance than any I've seen anywhere. They paid attention to every little detail. He noticed the vent grommets on the roof were deteriorating and replaced them at no cost. There was no added cost to me for the entire project even though there was added cost to Daniel.
I looked into Solectric on the recommendations of a friend. It was best decision I could have made for our solar instillation.
He also replaced our electrical breaker box with the same high quality work. He's the best -
(Update 3/7/24) The owner Dan did a thorough investigation into my price discrepancy when he got back to the office and was able to find the issue - mistakenly some customer additions were added to the price when I had not gotten any additions, he is working with SunPower to refund the extra charge and I would like to thank him for his time and Diligence.
My bill use to be ~$300 a month and now during the summer it is $0, even off shooting the gas I use. Installers were friendly and so is the staff. -
From start to finish Daniel was very easy to deal with and very helpful at answering all questions. Daniel is the owner of the company as well as installer and salesperson. He came to our home and met with us and a neighbor and very patiently answered all our questions. Later as we came up with more questions he would get back to us timely with direct answers.
Later when we signed a contract for installation he took care of all the design work, and permits and was able to get us up and running within two weeks. His pricing was very competitive and his thoroughness on little details was very thorough.
After reviewing his wiring installation, I was very impressed with the tidiness of it. Since I am a tradesman myself I really enjoy seeing the work of other artisans that are proud of their work.
Bottom line is that Daniel is easy to deal with, knowledgeable, price competitive, thorough, and very timely, all qualities that make it a pleasure to deal with him. -
Daniel, his installation crew, and his support staff did a great job. Daniel is no high-pressure sales guy, he listens to what you want and explains his pricing. His contract makes sense. I installed SunPower panels, which are expensive but high quality and have a 25-yr transferrable warranty on the panels and roofing. His installers have been working with him for years and know what they are doing. They are friendly, respectful, and courteous. The installation was professional and clean, only took two days with some follow up in coordination with the City of West Sac and PG&E. So thrilled to have an electric bill about 10% of what it was last summer - from $220 in July 2020 to $22 in July 2021! It will take time to pay off the system but the savings will only grow as electric costs continue to skyrocket. And, I am proud to be doing my part for the environment with Solectric's help. Couldn't be happier.

Daniel, the owner of Solectric, did a great job from beginning to the end to install a solar system for our home. He had been very patiently explain the whole process before we made the decision to use his service. Once we made the decision, it didn't take too long for him and his crew to install the system. The job was beautifully done and have started generating electricity for our home and the electric car. Daniel also did some extra work without extra charge for us. Over all, Daniel was responsible, knowledgable and skillful to what he did. I would recommend him to anyone who would like to have solar panels on their roofs.

This is the third time we have added solar panels and by far our best experience!
Unlike other companies, with salespeople, then engineering, then installers (all of whom seem to have different ideas and don't talk to each other), Daniel takes charge from the beginning. Planning to final installation, he is completely involved and makes sure things go well.
Daniel made sure we got the system we need, at the best price, and even worked through the holidays to complete before Dec 31, to make sure we were able to get the tax credit for the current year.
I could not have had a better experience. Wholeheartedly endorse Daniel and his company!
