I had a very frustrating and disappointing experience with ProTec Building Services regarding a gutter installation at my home .

This project was approved by our HOA with priority due to a long-standing issue, so I expected a higher level of professionalism and coordination. Unfortunately, that was not the case.

From the beginning, no one from ProTec reached out to schedule the work. I had to follow up myself multiple times. On one of those calls, I was told a crew would be coming “tomorrow,” but when I asked to confirm the address, they gave me a completely different unit within our community. That alone shows a serious lack of organization.

After clarifying that my unit was the one approved with priority, I requested that the crew come to my home first thing in the morning. I was told that would be done. However, when the crew arrived, they spent very little time on the roof (essentially just blowing debris) and left without resolving the actual issue.

Since then, the team has come out multiple times (at least three visits), yet the gutter is still not functioning properly. During rain, water continues to run off from multiple areas instead of being properly channeled. Based on what I’ve observed, this is clearly an installation issue—not something that can be fixed with minor adjustments or repeated patchwork.

Communication throughout this process has been extremely frustrating. I worked with Melinda Cheng (Client Experience Coordinator), and there was a consistent pattern of missed follow-ups, conflicting information, and delays. I often had to call back myself just to get updates, and commitments made over the phone were not followed through.

To make matters worse, after multiple failed attempts to fix the issue, I was told that any further “repairs” may require approval from the HOA—as if correcting a defective installation is considered additional work. That is completely unreasonable. This is not an upgrade or change request; this is fixing something that should have been done correctly from the beginning.

I escalated this issue to the company’s leadership, including the CEO, expecting that someone would step in and take accountability. However, even after a full week, I received no response at all from management. That level of disregard for a customer concern is extremely disappointing and speaks volumes about how issues are handled internally.

Summary of my experience:

* No proactive scheduling — had to follow up multiple times
* Given incorrect information (including wrong address)
* Multiple visits (3+) with no proper resolution
* Gutter still not functioning correctly
* Poor communication and lack of follow-through
* Attempt to shift responsibility for fixing defective work
* No response even after escalation to executive leadership

Overall, this has been a very time-consuming and frustrating experience. I cannot recommend ProTec based on the quality of work and the lack of accountability shown throughout this process.

If you choose to work with them, be prepared to manage the process yourself and follow up constantly.
