When we bought an EV we needed to set up home charging. We were told about Willow Glen Electric thru a friend who had their services. Researching their approval rating said they were good.
Good does not come close to describing how wonderful this experience with their setting up the new 220 circuit for us. They were on time for all the work, kept us informed all the way thru, were very professional, and very very user friendly. I wouldn't even consider searching for another electrician if I had a project that needed a reliable electric contractor.

I had a NEMA 14-50 outlet installed for my EV. These guys are a little pricey especially after you throw in their costs for the city permit process, but they are very professional. Also, they gave a discount for MLK Day, which brought down the costs somewhat. The installation was very smooth, and I could operate the charger right away even as they pursued the permit process. They handled the permit inspection very easily. To adhere to code requirements, a GFCI-protected circuit breaker had to be installed. Their estimate warned that GFCI breakers are prone to nuisance tripping. Sure enough, the breaker kept tripping the first time I tried charging my EV. However, they came back and promptly replaced the breaker with a different brand. It has been working flawlessly since.

Also, they suggested a different location for the outlet, which turned out to be a much better choice than my initial request.

They know what they are doing. I highly recommend them!

I was very impressed with the two professional electricians who worked in my home today!!! They were punctual and courteous. They set up and started work in an organized manner. When the job was completed, they cleaned the area and carefully carried their equipment to the truck. None of my furnishings were disturbed.
The woman in the scheduling office was courteous as well. She gave me a quote on the phone as well as setting up an appointment. I have already recommended the company to a friend.

We recently upgraded our electrical Sub Panel with Willow Glen Electric. They sent two experienced professional electricians who carefully reviewed the work to be done, took pictures and issued us a competitive quote that same day. They were able to start the work in just a few days, were very cordial and took time to answer all of our questions. Signing up with them was a no-brainer.

Willow Glen Electric used good quality components and did an excellent job installing the panel. When the work was completed, they set a date with the City of San Jose to inspect the job and issue a permit, which we had asked for. They handled it all and very professionally. Their service was excellent! They were a great help in guiding us through the entire project!

We most certainly will call them for any future electrical needs.

Be very careful of Willow Glen's workmanship! See photo. Contracted to add new 20amp circuit to master bath. After cutting sheetrock electrician found a pipe. Instead of moving the electrical box to the left and repairing the sheetrock they just hacked the back of the electrical box off and stuck it back in the wall. Fire hazard, code violation and gross negligence. In addition no GFIC outlets were installed for this new bathroom circuit. All bathroom outlets require GFIC per code. Called them back out to get it fixed and to code. Then found 3rd bathroom outlet run off the new outlet not wired to GFIC. I had to open their new outlet, rewire the 3rd outlet correctly, patch and paint the sheetrock myself. My request for a discount was ignored as was my request for corrective action for their staff. Workmanship standards, understanding of the electrical code, training and corporate culture all come into question.

I got three quotes to install a Tesla charger, and Willow Glen demonstrated their expertise and value from the start.

Special shout out to Anita who worked extra hard to make the permit process seamless for a renter that was working with their landlord to install the charger.

I had two installers that’s were extremely professional and masters of their craft, and a third professional that helped on site during the permit inspection that was equally fantastic. I could not recommend this company more.

Willow Glen Electric replaced my subpanel and installed a Tesla charger. I chose them after getting 4 other quotes, WGE being the lowest. Despite offering the lowest price, they also had the best service - very responsive & organized, ready to answer all of my questions, and flexible with scheduling. The electricians showed up on time and completed the work on schedule.

The installation work quality seems very good. I like how they ran the conduits out of the wall and along the ceiling in the garage. Very clean and looks like it will last longer than the house. Overall, great job and good experience from start to finish!

Willow Glen Electric did an excellent job on my project. We have underground utilities at our home. The project was to upgrade my service from 100 amps to 200 amps. They were very flexible to do certain aspects of the project to my specification but always keeping to local electrical codes. Over the course of the project I worked with the team in the office , the engineer who determined the equipment list and generated the quote, the electricians who performed the work and finally the guys who came out to meet with the city to get the final inspection approved. I found the materials and workmanship to be of the highest quality, and their pricing to be very competitive. I would highly recommend Willow Glen Electric.

Can't say enough nice things about Willow Glen Electric. First, I chose them to install my EV wall connector. After checking out a few different qualified electricians (all from the manufacturer's approved list), it became clear they were professional and the most interested in making sure my project fit what I was looking for, without doing things I didn't need, and all at a very fair price - lower than others who suggested alternatives that were less effective! So I had no hesitation to ask them to come back and do my next project (upgrading my sub-panel for a kitchen remodel). Ray and Armando were super professional and courteous, and went above and beyond the call of duty. I'd recommend Willow Glen Electric to anyone, and am already recommending them to family members. Willow Glen electric installed my an EV charger in my garage in 2023. They reviewed my requirements and provided a solution that worked in conjunction with our home battery storage units. Communication was great. They arrived on time and completed the job on time as well. City inspection coordination could have been a little better, with some misalignment on timing, but it all worked out in the end. Highly recommend this company.

Context

I was put in touch with Willow Glen to set up Tesla Powersharing for my new Cybertruck. I already had 2 wall connectors and a backup generator so the Tesla Gateway had to be put upstream of the generator's transfer switch and an older Wall Connector had to be replaced with a Universal Wall Connector. There were a few communication glitches with Willow Glen that took quite a while to resolve, and when they tried to pull the wire for the Wall Connector (because a control wire has to be added) out they didn't initially consider that the previous electrician might have taped the 3 wires together. Overall it took several months.

Work

Once these issues were resolved, however, Willow Glen was very professional and efficient. They had provided the county with detail connection diagrams, and when the inspector came out he and I were very impressed with how clearly the Willow Glen electrician explained what they had done and with his level of knowledge of the system and what it was designed to handle.

All in all I found Willow Glen to be very communicative, responsive, professional, and capable.

I recently had the Cybertruck Powershare and Tesla Gateway installation done by Willow Glen Electric, and I couldn't be more pleased with the experience. From start to finish, their team was professional, efficient, and extremely knowledgeable. The installation was completed flawlessly, and the support during the permit inspection was outstanding, ensuring everything was in perfect order. Communication with Sales via email was great. I received a quote timely. The price was high, in my opinion, but I was willing to pay extra for permitted work from a licensed contractor. Also, Willow Glenn Electric was recommended on Telsa's website for EV charger installation. The work was scheduled same week, and the installation was fast. This should be a 5-start review, but I have one, significant issue: my EV charger was not installed on my solar subpanel. I have excess solar generated by my panels, and I wanted to charge my EV on excess solar whenever possible. The young electrician installed the EV Charger on my main panel, which is not tied to my solar panel system. Now, I don't have the option to charge on solar, only directly from the grid. I hate PG&E and their grid, that's why i have solar and a powerwall. I was told later on by the salesman that i would have to pay an additional $1200 for a load management system. If I had known this upfront, I may have done it. Not being advised of this requirement is what bugged me the most. Willow Glenn Electric were very professional, but communication is key when dealing with customers. We/customers are not as informed of these limitations and options. That's why I hire professionals. You did ask for a review, so this is as honest as I can be. I would recommend your company to friends, but I would educate my friends to ask the right questions upfront, unlike me.

Fantastic Experience! Willow Glen Electric installed two level 2 electric car chargers in our garage. Every electrician who came to our house - from quoting to installation - were incredibly professional, knowledgeable, and easy to work with. They accommodated my work schedule and every electrician was punctual for our scheduled appointments. The work was done quickly and professionally. The team prepared very well for the inspection. When the city inspector came out, he complemented Willow Glen Electric for the quality of their work and professionalism. I cannot recommend highly enough.

Willow Glen installed electric car chargers in our home. They were absolutely professional and knew the code book back to front. I am so impressed with their quality and expertise. They are well worth the cost if you have a big project and want it done right.

We hired Willow Glen for a main electrical panel upgrade. The project required coordination between myself, PG&E and Willow Glen, and took approximately 1 year to complete due to PG&E’s schedule. The project was completed but during the installation of the new main panel, Willow Glen pierced our newly installed main water line when they installed a grounding rod. This resulted both a hole in and debris entering the main water line. Willow Glen hired Bambino’s Plumbing Service to fix the damage. Bambino’s Plumbing temporarily patched the hole in the main water line and installed a permanent fix on a follow up visit. While Bambino’s Plumbing installed the temporary patch, I identified that one of our toilets no longer filled with water after a flush. Bambino’s Plumbing investigated the issue and cleaned debris from the top assembly of the toilet’s fill valve to get the toilet to fill with water. Note that the fill value wasn’t thoroughly cleaned (i.e. valve body, shank). After using the toilet for some time, my wife and I noticed that the toilet was taking a significantly longer time to fill when compared to our other 2 toilets. All 3 toilets are the same make/model and newly installed. Upon identifying this issue we immediately contacted Willow Glen and requested support. Initially, Willow Glen sent an email to both Bambino’s Plumbing and myself requesting for Bambino’s Plumbing to double check the toilet and to bill Willow Glen for the service call. Per Willow Glen’s email, I scheduled an appointment with Bambino’s Plumbing but they did not show up. Bambino’s Plumbing said they never received any confirmation stating that Willow Glen would cover any costs. As a result, I’ve called Willow Glen multiple times over the last 4 weeks requesting support. Unfortunately, Willow Glen has failed to follow up on any of their communications about this issue. I ended up scheduling an appointment with a different plumber. The new plumber removed the fill valve and showed me that it wasn’t thoroughly cleaned (see attached image). It’s extremely disappointing that Willow Glen did not take responsibly for the damage they caused, and also hired a plumber that was unreliable. My wife and I were looking forward to working with Willow Glen to install EV charger and future electrification projects but due to their lack of support and accountability we will look elsewhere.

With my Tesla model 3 arriving and my landlord agreeing to the installation of the charger and an automatic load balance, Willow Glen Electric was easy to use and fast. The best part was the team of installers. Very knowledgeable, fast, and courteous. One note, if you are splitting some of the cost with a landlord that could get a bit tricky with the front office, but in my unique situation it all ended up working out. Very happy with the installation job and the help with the inspections by the city afterward.

My powerwall stopped communicating. I contacted a few powerwall installers and Willow Glen was the only one to return my call. They tried to help me fix it without them coming out, but no luck.
The electrician showed up on time and quickly diagnosed the problem. He fixed the problem and then helped me figure out what went wrong and how to prevent it.

First of all, Willow Glen Electric came highly recommended. We used Willow Glen Electric to install the new SPAN panel and bypass a potential 12-18 month wait time and an additional $20,000-$30,000 underground fed 200 amp MPU, since our 100/125 amp Main Panel was overloaded. They went above and beyond in explaining everything the SPAN panel could do and even going so far as to talk with Sunrun Operations Managers to assure them that we could then actually add batteries to our house with the SPAN panel! This saved us so much time and money by going this route.

They also installed the new SPAN Drive fast EV charger. And found out I was one of the first ones, ever, to get this new beauty.

Very professional company and crew here. I had a complicated project and they were able to figure it out and get it done; with courteous service and a great attitude the whole way.

I also now highly recommend Willow Glen Electric. This coming from a homeowner and someone in the solar industry, where we do A LOT of electrical work in our field.
