This company made our remodeling dreams come true. Almost everything was done by their large number of well-trained, in-house workers. This is an asset as opposed to relying upon a remodeling company which uses subs. From the initial meeting to the finishing touches, they performed outstandingly. We appreciated that they didn't arrive on site until 9:00am or so, and generally left by 3:30pm. They will continue to be on our call list for anything else we need, and we highly recommend them. BTW, they have nothing to do with another company with a similar name and bad reviews!

Absolutely one of the best contractors we've ever worked with. Honest, dependable, thorough. They did the job on time, with great care. Any issues that came up Lonnie and his team rectified in a professional and expedited manner. The people at this firm were always so respectful of my family and our home. Lonnie is a man of his word, which is a hard trait to find in contractors. Our remodel turned out gorgeous and we can't recommend Lonnie and HRC enough!

This is the second time we’ve used HRC - this time to update our wood floors, rebuild/replace the kitchen island and install all new quartzite countertops and backsplashes. The crews are all employees of the company, not subs, so you get a consistency in the quality of the work and better adherence to schedule. We’re very happy with the results and would definitely recommend them.

We started this process a few months ago and now are enjoying our beautiful kitchen and bath.

Laura was very helpful, and gave us very good suggestions on what materials to choose. She made this simple and was very patient and allowed us to make up our minds, but gave us very good advice along the way.

We had to delay our starting point due to Covid-19. Once we started the workers were on time and always eager to answer any questions we had and to double check specific things to ensure it was done correctly. They were super clean and made sure to clean up before they left each day.

We had a couple of delays due to Covid-19 and different vendors. The key here was that Lonnie would be very honest and let us know exactly where things stood and what the prediction was. It was worth the wait.

This company is very service oriented and definitely ensures that everything is done correctly. As a bonus, Lonnie has a cleaning crew come and clean your house from top to bottom, when they are done.

We just completed the remodeling of three bathrooms plus some minor additional work done by Home Remodeling Center in San Marcos, and we are delighted with the results.

Remodeling projects are generally disruptive, but HRC worked hard to make the process as painless as possible. Lonnie, the owner and general contractor, set the tone and provided time frames and cost. It became clear to us that he is both knowledgeable and trustworthy, and we are comfortable in knowing that if we have any concerns in the future, Lonnie and his team will be there for us.

One of the pluses for us in working with HRC was that most of what we needed to do was done at the HRC facility, rather than having to shop around at various businesses.

The HRC team was a pleasure to work with.. Many had good ideas that we certainly would not have thought about ourselves. We would give high grades to all of them, but would like to highlight a few that went above and beyond: Said, Ken, Gabriel, Netto, and Jennifer. They were flexible in working with our schedules, provided good recommendations, and did high quality work.

In summary, the end results were what we had anticipated, and there were no surprises on cost. We would use HRC again and gladly recommend them.

Upon moving to San Marcos 10 years ago, we had a major remodeling of our home done by San Marcos’s Home Remodeling Center. HRC did a beautiful job. However, a shower stall leak developed over the years and eventually became serious. When we pointed this out to HRC, they were very responsive in working with us to get this leak repaired. Not only does HRC do great work, they stand behind their work even after 10 years.

I had researched a number of places locally because I believe in supporting near where you live. HRC filled the bill immediately and reassured me that they could do anything I needed for my kitchen redo. Having a designer helped put all my ideas into place and also having cupboards and counters and hardware ordered from their showroom made it so much easier in the whole scheme of the job. Their attention to every detail was very impressive. Their work was topnotch. If I had questions they were there with the answers. Everything turned out more than fantastic and more than I could have hoped for. Thank you to Lonnie, Chris, Steve and Reyes and all the other guys who were so easy to get along with.

HRC just did a full remodel of our house in San Marcos and did a phenomenal job! They finished ahead of schedule, did high quality work, and were true professionals from start to finish! Their pricing was the best, and the fact they can manage all aspects of the remodeling project makes them an easy choice!

We first used HRC in 2022 for a complete first floor remodel of our 2,700 SF home in San Marcos including new kitchen, bath, laundry room, floors and paint. We learned about Lonnie and HRC from former neighbors who gave rave reviews, having used them for their home here and then multiple times for their Fallbrook home. We had the same excellent experience. We solicited multiple bids but felt most comfortable with HRC's as it was extremely detailed, leaving little room for surprises.

The actual work was done by HRC's in-house, extremely knowledgable and skilled employees - staff rather than multiple subcontractors. It streamlined everything that comes with any remodel - large or small. We continue to be thrilled with the remodel three years later and it was finished on time and within the bid.

We began the process with HRC to remodel our upstairs in late 2024. Again, it was complete demolition of both full bathrooms, replacing flooring, cabinets, countertops, etc. Based on our prior experience, there was never a doubt we would again use Lonnie and his team. They did not disappoint! We are again thrilled with the results. The remodel was done within bid but actually sooner than had been estimated.

We found the HRC showroom to be an extremely efficient source of quality items as we were able to pick cabinets, countertops, flooring. And the in-house design team was always available to help us. For those items that we were responsible for, such as appliances, bath/shower fixtures, toilets, we were able to utilize HRC's contractor discount. Nice bonus!

We have shared our HRC experiences with friends and neighbors. We are so grateful we did not experience the nightmares they experienced using other contractors. We're thrilled we have no more remodeling projects. But if we did, there is no question we would again utilize HRC. Lonnie knows his stuff. This is the reason HRC has been in business for more than 20 years!

TL;DR: I highly recommend Home Remodeling Center, they do an awesome job on time and in budget!

What they did: Remove popcorn ceilings. Drywall the garage. Demo closets down to the bare walls. Paint the entire house and garage (interior). Complete kitchen remodel including cabinets, countertops, appliances, bring electrical to code, install under-cabinet lighting, sink, faucet, and garbage disposal. Remodel two bathrooms with new vanities/countertops, toilets, sinks, and lighting, plus install a tile shower in the master. Electrical work including bringing wiring to code, install ceiling fan junction boxes, garage and kitchen outlets, bathroom lighting, relocate cable entry to house.

We recently moved to Oceanside and purchased a house in a 55+ community (Oceana East I). We had approximately six weeks between taking possession and receiving our household goods in an interstate move. The house needed considerable modernization so we looked for a contractor who could handle the entire project as well as complete the work in the time allotted. We knew this would be a challenge due to supply chain issues, labor shortages, and our tight time frame.

We found the Home Remodeling Center (HRC) and were encouraged by their good reviews and Better Business Bureau rating. The owner, Lonnie, worked directly with us and ensured they would be able to have us move-in ready by our household goods delivery date. They have an in-house design team, a comprehensive showroom in the Los Vallecitos Business Center in San Marcos, and all of their crafts people are employees of the company. This last point is important as it allows them to rearrange schedules based on the needs of the business and not on the availability of multiple subcontractors.

HRC was so easy to work with and completed our project on time. They sourced all of the materials for us and had no problem with supply chain, etc. From the initial consultation to design meetings and change request, the process was smooth and transparent. There were no surprises. Everything was communicated to us in a timely manner. Unexpected findings were brought to our attention immediately along with a recommended fix.

The quality of the work is impeccable and first rate. The materials are high quality but not overly expensive. All the employees are friendly, professional, and highly skilled. I am more than happy to recommend HRC for any home remodeling, from a small to whole-house project!

Rarely do you have the opportunity to pay for the professional, BEAUTIFUL, work as performed by the HRC crew. The quoting and invoicing process was transparent and informative. Their project management is superb. Every single person who came into my home was incredibly trustworthy, experienced, and ready to work. Everyday I would look forward to seeing how they were transforming my home. It still takes my breathe away when I get my morning coffee in my kitchen. Their design team guided us to pick out the best materials for our job, and worked within our budget constraints with ease. If this is supposed to be a nightmare process, I guess those people didn’t use HRC. I couldn’t be happier!!!

We just completed our remodel project with Home Remodeling Center and I give them 5 STARS for their great work. We had a full kitchen, master bathroom, office, flooring throughout the house and a wall removed by them. They completed the entire project in 3 months. Every employee was respectful and considerate. The cabinets throughout look like furniture. They made a bar in the area where the wall was removed between the dining and family room. The lighting under the quartzite counter is awesome. It is a WOW and is so COOL. I highly recommend HRC for your remodeling project. I had other estimates from remodeling companies and theirs was the best. Thank you HRC for a job well done.

I honestly cannot say enough wonderful things about Home Remodeling Center. They have remodeled 2 kitchens for me, and the work they do is exceptional!!! My friends and neighbors have all raved about the results, and at least one of my neighbors (so far) had HRC beautifully remodel their kitchen too.

Nora is wonderful. She sat down with me to Layout and design exactly what I wanted, and then she came all the way out to my house to remeasure and confirm everything.

Christian ran the install at my house and he is extremely skilled and reliable. He is just a very talented artist in all the work he does, and he was always cheerful and fun to work with. He happily addressed anything and everything to make sure that my husband and I were thrilled with the process and of course the results, and everything was completed even more beautifully than I had imagined. The first person I spoke to on the phone was Julio who is also very professional, friendly and very helpful.

What an amazing experience with the Home Remodeling Center team from start to finish. We recently remodeled our two bathrooms, which involved installing new flooring, a new bathtub and showerhead, tiles, plumbing, electrical work, new switches, lights, new cabinets and sinks, and freshly painted walls. Chris, George, Jennifer and Nora communicated with me often, and the crew arrived on time daily. From design to pricing, communication, and craftsmanship, this truly was a five-star experience. From Start to finish we have had the best experience with Home Remodeling Center! We recently did a whole house remodel to include our kitchen, 2 bathrooms, built in desk and coffee bar, flooring, tile fireplace, retexturing the walls, all doors and paint. Lonnie and his team were in communication with me daily, the crew showed up on Time everyday and were genuinely concerned to make their work exactly what we wanted. Of course there were bumps in the road (as with any remodel) due to the timing of products arriving but the crew just pivoted and stayed on track working on other areas. From design, to price, communication and craftsmanship this was a 5 star experience. They were not the cheapest, but they weren’t the most expensive either, but their customer service and craftsmanship was worth every single penny!! Highly recommend!

I have a small kitchen that was made smaller by having a washer/dryer in it. Because of the layout, there was no room to have a dishwasher. The kitchen didn't function well and was in need of a remodel. I went to Home Remodeling Center's showroom and liked what they carried. I've never gone through a remodel and didn't know where to start. I ended up working with Julio who explained the process and was there throughout the remodel. The kitchen turned out beautifully and was able to have my dishwasher. George and Juan did a great job installing the cabinets and took their time to make sure everything came together perfectly. Paul did the tile work and suggested a pattern which I ended up really liking. I loved the kitchen so much that I ended up having them install wood floors. Everything turned out beautifully. I now enjoy being in my kitchen. Everyone at HRC was so helpful. I would definitely recommend HRC to anyone looking to remodel.

I had my master bath completely remodeled. It went from nasty to stunning. Gabriel did the tile in my shower. It is perfect. He measured everything precisely-a true craftsman. Reyes worked on the plumbing and electrical, as well as the vanity and fixtures. His work was excellent. I was told it was going to take 3 to 4 weeks. I thought that was a long time. It took 4. As I watched the crew work, I understood why. They do not rush anything. Everything is measured and set perfectly. I will be doing my other bathroom and my kitchen. I would not think of going anywhere else.

After interviewing 6 different bathroom remodelers and subcontractors, I was almost ready to give up. It was frustrating because no one was able to give us what we wanted in our budget. They were either poor communicators, too inexperienced, too limited, or too expensive. We responded to the insert advertisement that was found in the monthly free booklet as a last ditch effort. My husband I walked into a beautiful, well appointed show room, with great selection of all kinds of materials and hardware. Of course, I was leery at first, but Lonnie at Home Remodeling Center in San Marcos, CA, quickly won our confidence. He heard what we wanted and even anticipated some things that were left unsaid. His counter top and glass partners were super duper. All his employees were kind and listened to my needs. They understood I wanted it took look beautiful and well done and that's what they did. Remodeling your home can be emotional, so going with competent professionals is key. I really like Lonnie, Julio, Gabriel, Reyes, Christian, Jose and everyone who made our bathroom beautiful. Trustworthy and stayed on budget. I would definitely hire them again given the chance. We absolutely love how it turned out and feel like we go into our Asian inspired spa every day. LOVE LOVE LOVE.

Home Remodeling Center took our late 70's kitchen and dining room to a new clean beautiful open space. We did our research for several months interviewing more than 5 different companies. Simultaneously, while shopping for appliances before choosing a contractor, the guy that helped us with our appliances said we should look into Home Remodeling Center in San Marcos. He said he'd heard they've been in business for about 30 years so that longevity means they have something good going for them. We took his advice and called. Julio was our first point of contact. He was friendly and made a great impression over the phone. He invited us to the showroom/office. Once there we met with Lonnie, Julio and the rest of the office staff. They made us feel at home and actively listened to our wish list for a new kitchen. After several meetings we decided to give Lonnie and his crew the job. We are so glad we did! They gave us a timeline of 6-8 weeks and they completed the job in that time frame. The crew we had was awesome! Shout out to Said and Ken and the others that worked on our project. I loved that Said would stop and ask if we preferred things one way over the other. They walked us through the entire project and explained things as they came up. We had a few change orders that they handled beautifully. Thank you Julio for all your hard work and for listening to all my crazy thoughts and ideas.
