THANK YOU David and team! David came out with his team to redo our cracked and old sidewalk and driveway. This was no small task, with a lot of demo /haul away work. David worked seamlessly with the City of San Mateo and was highly knowledgeable on getting our project going. He came out during a scorching October heatwave and still completed the project on time, on budget, and with a smile on his face. I appreciated his timely response, and how easy it was to work with him, and his crew. We love our new smooth sidewalk and driveway and would highly recommend them for any paving needs! We had a positive experience with Ideal and the owner, David who was honest and easy to work with. Our patio project involving: demolition of composite slabs, re-grading flood prone areas, construction of new drains, a paver patio with steps to the house and railroad tie stairs. We chose David because we found him the most frank and grounded in his appraisal of what could be accomplished. No blanket promises or overselling what needed to be done. His quote was also competitive and reasonable. He guided us in making decisions we were waffling on and was respectful of our wishes once we made them. He advised us to remove a row of sick/overgrown trees which was not part of our original plan, but was the right decision. This happened smoothly with a tree contractor he recommended. The project began promptly despite the delay for arranging tree removal. He and his crew were professional and respectful of each other. Jose, Hector and their crew were skilled, orderly and hard working in spite of the hot weather. The only minor issue we had was asymmetric drain placement, likely because they kept the position of our old drains, which we saw too late to adjust. The overall project however turned out great including the railroad tie stairs which were also David’s recommendation. We should have had his crew autograph that work of art. The before and after pictures speak for themselves. The crew left our street and driveway cleaner than when they arrived. We are thrilled with the outcome of this long overdue project and wish David and Ideal continued success. On to the next project of replacing our fence and painting our retaining walls!

David from Ideal Landscaping was wonderful. We had areas of pavers in the front walkway and a corner of the driveway that had sunk, in addition to pavers around a backyard shed that had shifted. I called several places and David gave me the most reasonable price. I knew his company would be good as he had done work for my neighbor.
His team completed the work in a timely fashion and did a very good job. I am very pleased with the results. No one will now trip over uneven pavers. His guys were polite and careful to clean up.
David himself is a real gentleman. He is easy to talk to, explains what needs to be done in a way i can understand, and he waited a week before coming by to collect payment in order to give me time to make sure i was satisfied.

I love my new backyard patio, which was installed by Ideal. They handled everything from the demolition of the old backyard grass and flagstone, to rebuilding steps, to purchasing and installing the pavers. Throughout the project, David and his crews were so responsive, professional, easy to work with - and they brought forth their own ideas and suggestions. This is the 3rd project they have done at my home, and they will continue to be my go-to business for future renovations.

Ideal Landscape was absolutely phenomenal! From our coordinator David to all of his workers, they were very Professional, their quality of work was superb, they finished way ahead of schedule, and best of all, we had a minor issue after installing our synthetic turf where a small section of the edging needed attention. David immediately took care of the issue without any problems whatsoever! My wife and I had hired Black Diamond to do our front pavers last year and having compared both companies, IDEAL was far SUPERIOR in every aspect of doing the job! We highly recommend Ideal and are 100% SATISFIED!

I have nothing but amazing things to say about David, Robert, and their crew. We did a pretty big project overhauling our entire backyard and half our front yard. From our first contact, David was super responsive, respectful of our time and availabilities, and quick to give us an accurate estimate. Even when we wanted to change things on the fly, he made sure we were clear of any extra costs (or none) and what those entail.
We removed our back deck, side decking staircase, pulled up the lawn and decorative bushes, and installed brand new drip irrigation, huge paver patio, pea gravelled planter box areas, and did concrete front steps, walkway, and side alley.
When work started, we saw the same crew the entire time. They were absolutely fantastic. Everyone was very fast, precise, clean, and respectful of our space and vision. The crew is so neat that I got a text from my neighbor asking me to pass on the message that they're really impressed with how clean and respectful the crew worked.
We saw Robert every work day and felt like we can entrust his crew to bring our vision to life without having to micromanage.
Thanks to them, we have a wonderful backyard and a lasting relationship with some of the best in the business.

David and his team have done the back and front of our house over the last few years. There is a reason we returned, they do amazing work at a fair price. What really sets them apart is the communication and partnership through the job. Do yourself a favor on your next outdoor project, use Ideal.

We had a problem with weeds that were overgrown in our yard and we needed a company to come in and help us out. Several years ago we had already put in synthetic grass thinking that it would largely solve our problems with weeds. However, the weeds still seemed to flourish around the outside perimeter and borders where the synthetic grass was installed. So in order to take care of this issue, I reached out to Ideal Landscape & Concrete to schedule an appointment. It took a little while to get on their calendar largely due to previous commitments that I had with work, but they did come out and gave us a fair price. They did the job from start to finish in one day. It wasn't a huge project but the results I think were rather impressive given the amount of work required. They were thorough and we were very pleased with the outcome. I would definitely recommend giving them a call to see if they can help out with landscaping needs that you might have.

I cannot recommend Ideal strongly enough. David and his team did such a beautiful job on a herringbone pattern for our patio that we did not consider anyone else for our just completed project: a side yard walkway and aisles between three raised vegetable beds. They are reasonably priced, reliable and do excellent work.

Can’t say enough good things about Ideal, David, and his team. From getting the quote to commencement, the process was easy and straightforward. David is very personable and he makes sure the job is done exactly as we wanted it. We inquired about repacking the backyard with concrete due to cracking which caused leaking into the crawl space. As you can imagine it is such a headache for any homeowner. We found David and Ideal on a local google search and we are very happy with our choice. I loved that he kept in touch with us, introduced us to his foreman Jose before beginning, called every other day to ask if we had questions along the way. We asked about ideas for water drainage since there was no where water could go. He has great ideas and suggestions if you ask! After the job was done, he did a walkthrough and fixed any little thing he saw out of place or needed a touch up. Even added new soil and grass seeds to our lawn =) we definitely will recommend our friends and family. I’m a firm believer in helping local businesses and Ideal is top notch.

Update:

David, Jose and team have come through once again! Five years ago we had Ideal Landscaping re-do our yard and put in a draining system to solve a huge flooding issue and we were so happy with the result. Fast forward to now, we had another issue come up and I contacted David again and he sent Jose out the next day to assess the situation. Communication with David is always so easy and he’s very responsive. He scheduled the team to come out and replace the original sump pump with a bigger tank since the last one was not sufficient enough anymore. Ahead of the atmospheric river this year, he got the team out a day before the storm and finished the project in a day!! Talk about efficiency!! We were also hosting a party that night and no one would have known we had major work done that finished an hour before. I can’t tell you how much David and team keep impressing me with their professionalismu and dedication to their customers, old and new. David also personally came at the end of the day to check in and wanted to make sure we were happy with everything. They will always be go-to team for concrete and drain work! We worked with David at Ideal to get our sidewalk repaired in front of the property along with a new set of steps into the backyard. David was very prompt when it came to an initial inspection/review of the property, corresponded effectively via phone and email, and his team was efficient when the day came to do the work. Nothing short of a dramatic transformation! Patio before was a trip hazard - roots pushing up and breaking 50+ year old 4 inch concrete aggregate and wood dividers sinking and disintegrating. David and team arrived with the best equipment and quickly demolished aggregate patio with great care given to house and landscaping. David also made the process easy by recommending paver brand (Belgard - chose Catalina Grana Victorian color) and store to visit to see in person. In addition to outstanding paver installation, David and team replaced root-clogged and broken underground drainage pipes, added a few more drains, and undergrounded downspouts. Work was done quickly and work site left clean every night. We couldn’t we happier with the results and wont hesitate to use again for other projects.

We just hired David, the owner and operator of Ideal Landscape and Concrete, to upgrade the landscape of the entire front of our home. New concrete driveway and parking pad, artificial turf, 2 French drains, planter box, and retaining wall.

It was a huge project that David’s team completed on time and on budget. Throughout the 2 week project he kept in close contact on what was happening next and his Forman was great about asking questions to clarify what we wanted after the demo and before the concrete pour. David also knows the City of Belmont permitting process well and managed that for us without any issues.

After completing this large project I can highly recommend David’s company for any landscape and concrete work that you might have.

David and his team are amazing to work with. I was looking for a team who can complete the job fast because I would like to move in early and they delivered. David was able to give me a quick estimation of the price and even flexible on providing me reasonable pricing when I want a last minute change to make the walk way wider. On top of the additional request, they worked late and finished the job in 3 days as promised! They helped installing the whole walk way around the house and backyard patio, including the whole drainage system for the house. They also did really great job cleaning up and the quality of finished work was top notch. Thank you David and your team! They are all super nice, hard working people. David came out to give me a quote for a French drain and was an absolute first-class dude! He was very knowledgeable, upfront, and honest about what the job would involve, which I really appreciated. Even though I didn’t move forward with the project this time, David will be the first person I call when I’m ready and for any future projects. Highly recommend.

This review is long overdue. We hired David and Ideal Landscape a year ago to install concrete, artificial turf, and natural grass in both our front and back yards. We were thrilled with the work at the completion of the project, and we are still thrilled with it now!

But perhaps even better than the craftmanship (which was top notch) was the experience of working with David and his crew. They were trustworthy, communicative, prompt, clean, and very professional. David gave us great advice and kept us within our budget. I would not hesitate to call him again for future projects.

David and his crew were incredible. We originally reached out to install a concrete pad and in-ground basketball hoop for our kiddos, but after talking through the project with David, we realized there was a bigger opportunity to make the space really functional for our family. He was honest and knowledgeable from the start, helping us understand what was needed, including addressing some tricky drainage and sloping issues we had.

I am absolutely thrilled with the work David and his team at Ideal Engineering have done for my home. Not once, but two times! Most recently they cleared a sizable space in my back yard (which had a tree, large rocks, and unused gravel in the way) and installed a solid concrete foundation for a shed. This was no small task, but they made it look effortless and the result is simply fantastic.

On top of the hard work in preparing a space for our shed, they planted nearly 30 plants, each one given the perfect spot on our property. The attention to detail that his team operates with is just astounding. David always makes sure to do a "complete job" - they also installed all the necessary lighting and irrigation, ensuring the new plants and trees will continue to thrive.

David and his team are always super professional, efficient, and clearly passionate about their work. I couldn't be happier with the result and I highly recommend Ideal Engineering for any landscaping needs. They make you feel cared for; it's not just a job to them. We've just finished a very large, multi-part project with David and his crew at Ideal Landscape. Completely new concrete driveway, parking pad, retaining walls, backyard patio, and full landscaping throughout. I'm absolutely satisfied and couldn't be happier. As a first time home-owner it can be daunting to plan (and pay!) for a full home remodel. On top of that having to figure out all the hardscaping and landscaping was just overwhelming. Enter Ideal Landscape & Concrete to save the day! David and his team were super communicative, professional, and most important of all HONEST throughout the entire project. I always had my questions answered, the crews always came on time, and the speed of progress was something I've never experienced with other contractors. Even when it came to working with Public Works and meeting some critical requirements for gutters and retaining walls, David and his team were there and handled it. They're a family run operation and they handle their clients and employees with care; values that will keep them in business for a long time to come. I can't recommend Ideal Landscape enough. Call them for your next project!
