HVAC reviews in San Mateo, California

Stay away.
Waited 4 hours+ outside original appointment window for the technician to arrive. The technician is 100% sure the heat pump is broken and needs a total replacement. With another company, they quickly figured out the wiring issue.
Paid 250 dispatch fee for nothing helpful. -
Team came in and finished the work in two separate days. First day they got the AC installed minus the electrical work. Second day they came in and did UI the electrical and some finishing work. I have an older home with a two wire thermostat. They did the electrical work to let me add a newer thermostat inside the house. Effective communication and their project coordinator Sabrina did a great job setting expectations and communicating with us.

I tried them out to clean out a storm drain (not sewer). Easy job, 50 ft line, exposed at one end with a clean out, the other end of the pipe is in an accessible dry well. They spent 15 min trying and pulled out a few small roots and said they can't get through. And that cost $1200. I could pay several hundred more and have them try with a bigger snake but I had to sign a form that if they damaged my pipe it wasn't their fault. These two clowns hardly knew which end of the snake was the business end. On top of that they charge 3.5% for paying with a credit card, as though I might happen to have $1200 cash instead. They are not professional - they lack experience. Sending two young guys off the street who make a feeble attempt at repair and call it quits is borderline fraud. I will never call these guys again. I've labeled their phone # in my system as FRAUD ALERT just in case in 3 years I forget.

I Turned On a exterior light, heard a loud a pop and boom , lost power to a large section of my home . Thank goodness for pacific Coast Electricians. I called and they sent Raymond out in a timely manner, from the floor savers to his and the company’s professionalism, I was highly impressed. Raymond not only fixed the problem , but he also explained in great detail why this happened in a manner that made perfect sense. I now have four new circuits and my power issues are gone . Thank you ray so much! I highly recommend Pacific coast to anyone with electric problems .

After their first visit and repair of our heater, Jeremy recommended a duct cleaning because there was evidence of dust accumulation. At first I thought it would be something I could do but decided to let them handle it. They cleaned the blower and entire duct systems. What a difference it made. The heater works more efficiently now and requires only a short amount of time to heat up the home. It was a good decision since it has been at least 8 years since it was last cleaned. Very professional and came prepared with boot covers, masks and plastic covers for carpets and flooring. I recommend their service to anyone who needs duct cleaning.

I called to get a free estimate for a Tesla Wall Connector installation. I was told there would be a $89 dispatch charge that will roll over into my payment if I chose them to do the job. I was able to get the fee waive, stating other companies are giving free estimates. Little did I know... because this estimate was offered for free... they sent someone with probably zero idea of what needed to be done and was not even able to give us a quote. All he did was took a bunch of pictures on his ipad to upload and send it to a technician that could give us a quote. We spent more than 30 minutes trying to get the pictures to upload with no success. He promised a quote will be sent to us that same day in 1-2hrs after he left. We waited... No quote given. I left Patricia, the owner, a message on yelp to see if she could help. She said she will get a quote sent out. Days later... no quote whatsoever. It is obvious that they did not want my business nor cared to explain why I didn't get an estimate. Wonder if because it was a "free estimate they didn't bother with it. I am glad to bring my business elsewhere... Waste of 30 minutes that I cannot get back. Unprofessional, Unreliable, complete disregard for the customer. I would NEVER do business with this type of establishment.

I was so happy with the service I received. Our heater was not properly working and they came out the next day. It ended up being a faulty thermostat but helped us replace our very old wall heater. They were able to order and replace the heater the next day for a very affordable price. Everything was so seamless and quick.
Thanks again! -
used this company once years ago for Air Conditioning . My husband and I were so happy with the skill stellar customer service. Now that were are all home more and using more and more electricity , the system just couldn't take the abuse since both of us are working at home now. I remembered them and called right away. They sent out an electrician very fast, Richard.
Can't thank him enough . Our system is now upgraded and we no longer have a headache from circuits continuingly going off. Can't thank you enough
when you have real issues use this company. I am a repeat customer and now a lifelong client.

I hired Pacific Coast to replace my 2 wall heaters with new units as well as the ducts from the heaters to the roof. I also had them blow insulation into my attic. By bundling that into the heater work, they gave me a very nice discount. I especially appreciate tech/salesman David Earl Glover who took several hours to explain the pros and cons of wall heaters vs. central heating. He did a thorough inspection of my heaters and my attic. We signed the contract on a Friday and the heaters/ducts were installed on Monday - and with permits, too! The techs who came to the house were Covid protected, were knowledgeable, thorough and personable. They cleaned up after themselves as well. Communication with their office personnel was always pleasant. Mr. Glover let me know that if I had any questions or issues I could call him at any time. I am really happy with Pacific Electric, Heating & Air. I highly recommend them!

Our A/C system switched from AC to Furnice by itself and had to be turned off on Labor Day...very hot day around here. We had to wait two days for a technician to come make repairs. Pacific Coast moved my appointment up and the technicians showed up earlier than promised..yay..and made repairs in a short time. One of them was Cesar Ortega and I didn’t hear the name of the other one. They were very courteous, personable and did a professional job. A++. The system was still under warranty so there was no charge. Excellent service, thank you.

$89 just to come out to see what the problem is and they say it's an industry standard fee. I talked to some other HVAC companies and that is not the case at all. I didn't see any other companies charge to come out.

I called Pacific Coast Home Services after a failed DIY attempt to replace a thermostat. My furnace wasn't responding to the new thermostat and with exceptionally cold morning temperatures it was imperative that I got my furnace working again ASAP. It was great to actually speak to a human when I called. They were able to send a technician the next morning. Luis was very polite and clearly communicated what he needed to do in order to diagnose the problem and ultimately fix it. Luckily, it was fixable on the spot and did not require ordering/waiting for any expensive parts. I appreciated Luis' honesty and clear communication.

My heater was sporadic in coming on. I called these folks and was happy they came by the same day. They charged for diagnosing the problem, gave me a quote of $10k for cleaning and maintenance and nothing changed with the furnace.

Had an appointment scheduled for 12-2pm. The technician didn't arrive until 3pm. They charge a $89 fee to come out, but when the tech showed up, he wanted to charge an additional $450 just to fun a "full diagnostic" on my AC unit. So before even looking at anything, they want you to pay $539 just to look at what should be a simple repair. I'm sure the repair costs would have been astronomical too. Total upsell scam.

I called Pacific Coast in a panic- my propane fireplace was smelling like a strong gas leak. In the middle of winter.
A live person answered the phone! They scheduled me right away! Omar showed up at exactly the time he said he would. He was fantastic. He spent almost four hours getting our fireplace in working order. He took the time to answer all my questions. You could tell he cared immensely for his tools and doing the job right. We were very impressed!
The price tag was steeper than I planned and I was a bit shocked but after seeing the work he did I feel very good about my purchase. I got what I paid for and I would definitely recommend Pacific Coast (ask for Omar!) -
From the making/changing of the appointment to the completion of the job, everyone at Pacific Coast Home Services was professional and helpful. They were great at communicating, listening, and responding promptly to inquiries. I was feeling anxious about the electrical work, but the electrician Chad arrived on time, did some diagnostic tests, explained what he did along the way, and repaired the problem quickly and efficiently. I don't know how their fees compare to others, but Chad's expertise was well worth the price. I was very happy with the overall services of this company and would recommend them.

Ok, so far, from the representative over the phone, Alma, to the technician, Roy Albasri, Pacific Coast Home Services is very professional and courteous. Received text verifying appt time & address, text detailed info about tech who's coming (and who was on time).
