Every stage in the process with Northbay Roofing went well. The inspector was thorough and honest. The gutter cleaning got me through the heavy rains. The roof repair and gutter installation on one of my outbuildings went smoothly. The workers were always thoughtful of my needs and they did a great job cleaning up when they were done.

Great all around experience. Work started as scheduled and was finished in 3 days (roof and gutters and downspouts). No damage to anything and nice cleanup afterwards. Roof looks great and will now last for a long time.

My roof needed replaced and my gutters were constantly clogged and leaking during the rainy season. Northbay Roofing did a great job replacing both roof and gutters. They were clearly the experts I hoped for. The project started on time and finished a day early. My neighbors have complimented me on how great the roof looks. I could not possibly recommend a custom design/carpentry business more than these guys. I just finished my fourth project with them. They have built out three of our closets, a custom desk, a full bathroom and now a beautiful new dining table.

The first project we did with them was building out new closets with bars, shelves and drawers. We came to Eli and Jacob with designs that we got from California closets. The first and most impressive thing was that they made a suggestion that got us twice as much hanging space with the same amount of drawers. Having someone who actually pays attention like these guys makes a difference that is totally worth it. They used soft close hardware that brought the final product to a higher level than we had even imagined. The shelves, drawers and hangers were all of the highest quality, but the thought that they put into the project and the questions they asked about our needs for the space is really what set them apart from anyone else.

A few months later I showed them my dream desk. White oak with sort of a light stain and zero sheen. 6 weeks later (yes custom work takes some time) I have a desk I've been using for 3 years that is in immaculate condition. I had my hesitancies about the price tag admittedly, but you can tell with these guys... you only have to buy it once. This desk will be around for over a century and I'd much rather pay for a phenomenal product once than a subpar factory built piece that breaks in 5 or 10 years. Sure west elm stuff looks great but these guys updated me on the project as it came along. They sent pictures of the glue ups and joinery as they assembled it and this thing is absolutely bullet proof!

The bathroom was mostly their design. We had a few things we knew we really wanted, floating shelves with no hardware and quartz countertops but the drawings they came back with had great suggestions and attention to detail. Glass from the curb to the ceiling, a tilt out panel in front of the sink and a floating vanity to match the shelves. Once again, the design was fantastic and so is the bathroom.

I asked them in the beginning of November if they could get us a dining table before thanksgiving. Being trapped in our house most of this year has really brought everything we needed to change to light. That included our dining table for four in a six person family. They told me it might be a stretch to get it done before then, but sent me a photo of the thing two days before. In their shop and ready to be delivered. They brought it over the day before thanksgiving. It is absolutely our favorite new addition in the home.

These guys deliver attention to detail, great communication and the best products money can buy. And trust me- the money is worth it! Thanks Greenport team!

Eli and Dan worked with us on a remodel of our restaurant space and the opening of Oliver's Pizzeria in downtown San Rafael (which included building a custom Neapolitan style pizza oven) along with a facelift of our restaurant space in SF at Frankies Java House. Their project management style was incredibly helpful as we were making decisions during the course of construction which can be incredibly stressful. Their flexibility, knowledge, and creativity are THE reasons we were able to stay on schedule and within budget. 10/10 would recommend.

Over the years, having gone through a lot of remodeling projects in parts of my own home, as well as hearing about remodeling projects from friends and colleagues, there is no doubt in my mind that Jacob and Eli, the founders and owners of Greenport Construction, are top of their game in every way. Greenport Construction run wonderful polite and competant crews who do very good work. The owners know what they are about but more importantly for me (an older, single woman) is that in five years I have known and used them I have learned I can absolutely trust the integrity of what they say and what they do.

Greenport came through for us in a short window of time we had available. Everyone on the project was professional and communicated well with us as clients. The work was done efficiently and, when needed, they discussed options and solutions with the owners. We were very satisfied with our experience and would definitely recommend and contact them for future projects.

Greenport has done a few projects for us over the years including re-shingling our house, fixing outdoor trim, and remodeling some interior trim. This was my first significant remodeling endeavor as a homeowner, but I have extensive experience with general contractors from my work as an interior designer. I was thoroughly impressed by the team at Greenport.

They excelled in planning, budgeting, quality, and communication, truly going above and beyond. I can't recommend them highly enough. Their project tracking system was exceptionally detailed, similar to what l've seen in time-and-material billing. They provided daily logs accessible from anywhere. While I valued the detail, it became a bit too much to track, so they transitioned to a weekly report summarizing work performed and upcoming tasks. They also shared a project schedule, which was incredibly useful. Their flexibility with product selections and design was super helpful, and most importantly, their craftsmanship was top notch.

In my past experiences, I've noticed some contractors lose steam towards the end, but they remained dedicated and finished strong. They created their own punch list that encompassed everything on mine and more, and walked me through each room to ensure everything met my standards. I did encounter a minor issue with a drawer weeks after they finished, but they returned the very next day to resolve it, which is impressively prompt for a contractor post-final payment.

As for pricing, I won’t say they aren't the cheapest option available. They were the second-highest among the initial estimates I received. While they provided the estimate for free, there was a fee for a detailed "fixed-price quote." I'm not sure if this is standard for all projects, or just remodels, but they gave me a pre-construction planning budget agreement. At first I had mixed feelings about paying for extensive planning, which did take a couple of weeks, but they navigated it fairly quickly under the circumstances. This process showed me why I've seen other project have such high change order fees. If details are overlooked in the bidding process it can lead to significant expenses, which means they might seek to cover costs through change orders. However, the extra planning time that Greenport invested ensured that everything was executed correctly, on schedule, and within budget-something quite rare in the construction industry.

Greenport Construction was fantastic to work with! We have done 3 complex renovation/reconstructions with them and have been completely satisfied with the results. Eli is amazingly knowledgable and he encourages your own preferences and visions but is so experienced that he gently states what can be easily and seasonably accomplished. I would highly recommend this group without reservations of any kind!
