We are extremely happy with the quality of work done by Black Diamond.
We had them complete a very large backyard area with a combination of pavers (for a patio), synthetic turf area, a fire pit, a succulent area with pea gravel, a synthetic turf putting green, and accent lighting.

Our project manager was Michael Martinez. Michael was closely involved from the start and consistently did an excellent job of communicating with us. He was willing to work late in the evening and on weekends to ensure the work was done properly and to our satisfaction. He also offered important and very nice design suggestions and worked with us to manage our costs. He has a great attitude, always positive and respectful, and he is easy to work with.

Black Diamond and Michael worked with us to overcome the minor challenges that undoubtedly will occur with any project of this size. Our yard now looks fantastic and we highly recommend Black Diamond and Michael Martinez for anyone looking to have landscape work done.

We just completed a project with Black Diamond Pavers with Michael Martinez as our Sales Consultant. We are extremely happy with how our backyard turned out! Michael was a great collaborator in the design process and was extremely patient and informative in helping fit our needs/wants within a budget. We are very detail-oriented and he carefully worked through all of those details in the planning stages to make us feel confident in the project. His detailed estimate was accurate to the work done, with no surprises, and he promptly got it to us after our first meeting. Michael's crew did an amazing job and was very professional. The finished project looks even better than we had hoped.

I hired Black Diamond Paver Stones & Landscaping for a major driveway and landscaping overhaul, and they absolutely exceeded my expectations. They removed my old, cracked cement driveway, replaced it with stunning pavers, widened it, and adjusted the slope to prevent my car from scraping and make walking easier--especially helpful for my elderly parents. The new zero-scape design, complete with California native plants and two beautiful crepe myrtles, has drawn so many compliments from my neighbors. They even created a functional space for garbage cans, updated the French drains to handle water efficiently, and tied everything together beautifully with pavers leading to my doorstep.

Vanessa, the project coordinator, was fantastic. She was extremely communicative, responsive, and consistently checked in throughout the project. Ivan, the foreman, delivered impeccable craftsmanship and took pride in his work. Anytime I asked for adjustments to get things just right, he was happy to accommodate. Both Vanessa and Ivan showed incredible dedication, even navigating challenges like rain delays and water main issues with diligence and professionalism.

The final results speak for themselves, and I couldn't be happier with the widened driveway, improved slopes, and gorgeous landscaping. Hardscaping is clearly their specialty, but the landscaping they executed was equally impressive, enhancing curb appeal while fostering the local ecosystem.

While they are not the cheapest, the value is definitely well worth it. I highly recommend Black Diamond Paver Stones & Landscaping. Their expertise, professionalism, and dedication are unmatched. Thank you, Vanessa and Ivan, for transforming my space so beautifully!

We just recently finished a back yard paving project with Black Diamond Paver Stones & Landscape and we are absolutely thrilled with the results!

Michael Martinez was our Project manager/Designer and he REALLY did a great job with our yard... It looks exponentially better now without cracking concrete, the whole crew was very efficient, and he did not try to squeeze every penny out of us as some vendors will try to do with a large project. Great and honest guy.

Awesome project team! We were lucky to work with Michael, Irving and Travis to complete a major upgrade to our backyard. New retaining wall, re-graded and leveled 1500+ square feet, New paver patio of almost 1100 sq.ft with new water drain lines and a gas fireplace.

Michael Martinez, project manager, executed the project exactly as discussed, helping to design a layout that improved the overall usability of our backyard with very functional spaces. The best part of having our project managed by Michael was his excellent communication keeping us informed and actually completing a few days ahead of schedule with no unexpected surprises or additional costs!!

Irving, project foreman, did a great job managing his demo and installation crews. A great team of hard workers who were friendly and respectful. Michael Martinez, designer/project manager, and his crew lead by Irving, did a fantastic job on our new paver driveway and front walkway/porch. We really love how it turned out and have received several compliments already. Michael was very responsive and communicative at all times and made sure we were happy with everything. The crew did a great job completing the project ahead of schedule (even with some rain during) and keeping the work site as clean as possible. We would definitely consider using Black Diamond again in the future.

Having recently replaced our front steps using Black Diamond Paver Stones & Landscape we were excited to reach out again to replace our old asphalt driveway with pavers. We were not disappointed. The project manager, Mike Gurtler, was professional, excellent with communication, and made sure the work was done in a timely manner. I recently completed a backyard landscape project which included the demolition of an existing tile and concrete patio and installation of a beautiful new paver patio with Black Diamond Landscape. Peter Smith managed the project from start to finish, and was professional, personable, helpful, and provided excellent communication throughout the entire project. Peter helped me throughout the project, giving me input on design and paver selection, and keeping me up to date on the installation. He was easy to get a hold of and worked seamlessly with other contractors involved in my project. The construction crew was professional, respectful of my property, and hardworking. When a small issue arose, both Peter and the construction crew made sure that this was taken care of right away. The finished patio is really beautiful and I am thrilled with the result. The entire process was so easy and went so smoothly. I wish I had done it sooner!

I wanted to express my gratitude for the amazing playground surfacing service provided by Black Diamond. From start to finish, the experience was great.
The material they used has made the playground safer for all the children at Growing Light Montessori School. It's soft, durable, and meets all safety standards required by childcare licensing, which gives us peace of mind as a school. The final result is a beautiful, safe space that the children are excited to use everyday.

Paul and the Black Diamond team were extremely professional, responsive, reliable, and fast once we got up and running on our paving project for a new driveway and patio, as well as a French drain install at our home in Oakland.

Our project was ambitious, especially given our tight budget, and Paul did a great job working with us to tweak the designs, throw in additional items where he could, while working with the Black Diamond team to get us the best rate possible.

Once we were up and running the crew the project went really smoothly, Paul was responsive to our questions, helped troubleshoot small issues that arose (Roots, existing drain pipes, etc.), and even checked in while he was out a few days on vacation.

We'll look to use Black Diamond again in future projects for sure, thank you Paul and the Black Diamond team!

We have a large stone retaining wall in front of our house, bordering the street, that was severely damaged by a vehicle and had to be replaced. I contacted Black Diamond Paver Stones & Landscape and spoke with Peter Smith about having this wall replaced. Peter was extremely helpful, patient, and courteous throughout every step of this job. There were many delays due to the insurance company taking months to approve the replacement of the wall. I worked closely with Peter as the months went by and he made sure that the company was ready to go when it was finally approved. We were given a fair price and the workers who came out to do the job were very skilled and had the new stone retaining wall completed quickly. It now looks beautiful. We had a great experience working with Scott Theis and Black Diamond for our hardscape project in our backyard. It was mostly removing of concrete and adding pavers, but they also helped improve our drainage and add other, smaller, pieces of landscaping such as gravel. Scott was very communicative and the crew who was working the project were very helpful. It was also done in the same amount of time they predicted. Happy to give them a 5 star review.
