They are an excellent company. Very professional, kind, courteous, helpful, and prompt. Charles was the only roofer who responded right away after I had a leaking roof from the recent floods. He drove all the way from Sherman Oaks and explained the problem and his approach to diagnosing and repairing the issue. Although I decided to go with another roofer, Charles is honest and ethical, and he returned my deposit immediately.

I did my due diligence to find a roofer for my project in Anaheim, CA, and not only that their quote came out very reasonable compare to others, but their project execution was quick and smooth - they did it all, starting from pulling out the permits and handle all the paperwork with the city, pass all the city inspections, and complete the project earlier than planned, and through this the site was always clean and in good shape. During the heavy rain, we had a huge leak in our roof. I was recommended to A Cut Above and they sure were. They were responsive, reasonable in price and took on the risk of working on a very steep roof where not many others would. They did a great job.

Our commercial building needed a new flat roof and A Cut Above delivered. They worked around our business hours, completed the project ahead of schedule, and left the site spotless. The TPO installation is flawless and we've had zero leaks. The project manager was responsive and professional throughout. Highly recommend their roofing division.

Our experience with A Cut Above Contractors was extremely negative and stressful. From the start, communication was painfully slow and unreliable. We were repeatedly blamed “the city” for delays, yet it took over 2½ months just to obtain a basic demo permit, which shows either incompetence or complete mismanagement.

Their pricing practices are deeply concerning. During negotiations, if you ask for a lower price, they quietly remove line items from the proposal instead of being transparent. If you don’t catch it, you’re stuck with reduced scope. Once our roof was removed and the house was exposed, costs suddenly jumped—at a point where you have no leverage. It felt intentional and predatory.

Even worse, proposal documents later disappeared entirely. The email links no longer worked, and we were unable to access agreements we had previously reviewed. When we raised concerns, the response from ownership and management was aggressive, hostile, and unprofessional.

The only reason this isn’t a zero-star review is because the actual roofing crew was polite and hardworking. Unfortunately, they are overshadowed by an ownership and management team that is disorganized, combative, and impossible to work with.

There are many reputable contractors in this area. Do yourself a favor and hire literally anyone else. Based on our experience, this company cannot be trusted.

Had A Cut Above out for roof repair after a storm damaged several shingles. They came out same day for the estimate and had a crew here within 48 hours. The repair is seamless—you can't even tell where the damage was. They also cleaned up every single nail and debris with magnets. Professional, fast, and reasonably priced. Will definitely use them for our roofing needs again.

Kobi at Empire Remodeling and Design replaced the patio cover and recovered the cement deck with a faux flagstone covering. Did all work as contracted, and all of their workers were very professional and did excellent work. Kobi was very diligent in getting the plans and permits as well as overseeing the complete project. I would highly recommend them.

We worked with David and his crew on a major remodel of our duplex in Encino , and it came out gorgeous. They put new floors , tile , walls , kitchen and insulation .
It was a masive project and we called David almost everyday and he was so responsible and reliable.
The process went smoothly we were in good hands. David checked on his workers daily .
