Arvin was rude and disrespectful. My suggestion when you have to use a company that is sent from your home warranty company. Ask them in advance for their name so you can do a review on them. We originally waited a week for this appointment. We have an elderly family member in hospice, so now we have to start all over.

Active Air were punctual and knowledgeable. The technician, who came to repair my AC was very fast with diagnostics and replaced the broken part quickly. The work was done fast and with high quality.

Run for the hills with these people. Crooks! Will take you for every penny you got. Please refer to the ridiculous out of pocket itemized list they gave me when I am already going through my Home Warranty. Arvin and the Chipmunks was on my roof top 5 minutes. No one can make an assessment in 5 minutes. Drove into my driveway without permission by the way. So probably raised by wolves. These people should not be allowed to own a business.

They cancelled twice and we're late the third time. These are the people my home warranty sent out. I had to call the technician about what time he was showing up and he gave me attitude .

Karl and Erik did a great job recharging my a/c unit, the price was lower than any other company and they were both very friendly, on time, and honest about what was required to get my system running again. It’s rare to find a company you can trust with great prices, so I will always use them from now on. Highly recommended.

I put 1star becz I had to, but this company is incompetent!! The 1st tech literally told me he was new and didn’t know what he was doing, after I took a full unpaid day off work, then the 2nd day I took off unpaid to wait for their “senior tech”, who came out and told me they needed to open my wall to fix my a/c, so I called a different repair company for a 3rd opinion, and they fixed my a/c in 15 mins! Never opening up my wall!!! Terrible company! And neither myself nor their tech could reach a working number to their company when things went wrong!! This review will also be added to yelp, social media, and the BBB!

This is the worst service I got from a company and I am 57 yrs old. They came out several time to fix the AC. The blower keep ringing even after the AC is turn off, they can not figured it out and request to replace the new furnance(blower is in the furnace). I asked them to put back the furnace, since they took it out in a few pieces. I want to call another company to come out to fix it.
I am still waiting for them to call me back. I also asked to speak to the owner several time in the past. Alway, got Carl the Manager got no where for months. They just can not figured it out how to fix it.
IMportant: if you are the owner. Pls call me back. I need your company to put back my furnace in 1 piecefor another company come into fix the running blower.

This company is not only incompetence but also unethical....again I am 57 yrs old and this is the worst service company that I experienced....

Pls don’t walk, but run away from this company.

I live in Palm Springs and the motor on my HVAC unit went out on a 117 degree day. ActiveAir had someone come same day, arriving at 8pm at my home. I didn't have high hopes that the unit would be fixed since he was showing up so late and didn't know what was wrong with it. The young man had a truck full of motors (his words), and had my unit back working within the hour. I couldn't have been more satisfied. He was fast, incredibly affordable, and cleaned up everything before he left (and it was a mess). Couldn't have been happier with my service. Highly recommend!!

This contractor company was sent to our home by American Shield on 8/20/19 to inspect our ac unit. This was a second opinion. The first contractor was incompetent & failed to properly diagnose the problem with the unit. On his second visit, he only seemed concerned with$$$!
Active Air was sent out for Second diagnosis & review.!We were advised the compressor needed replacing and the report would be submitted to American Shield for authorization of replacement of compressor. I have made several calls to American Shield and have been advised they are awaiting report from Active Air! I attempted to contact Active Air andvthe phone mailbox was full! We were advised by Thomas (Active Air) he would support report to America Shield on 8/28/19?
As of today, neither company seems not to be concern with providing any type of status and or concerned customer service!!!!!
    Cannot and will not recommend!

Their technician Abel left the compressor on the roof of my condo in summer. I’ve infected them several times to remove it. They scheduled an appointment and claimed they came, but it’s all lies. Now the HOA is sending me hate mail and want to charge me for the removal. Active Air won’t follow up.

I was happy with their work in the beginning, but now after getting ghosted by Abel several times (I also contacted them to fix the AC on my business in Los Angeles, and got no return calls. That AC is still not fixed. They lost a customer in me and I have to let everyone know how UNRELIABLE their workers are. Too bad.

My ac stopped working two weeks ago, I called my home warranty american home shield for service. They assigned Active air heating & cooling to service my ac.
The guy in charge Carl. Came out and walked around where my filter was and asked me if my filter had been change, then went outside to look at the compressor, hooked up the gauges and said there was no freon. I then asked him if he had r22 freon and he said no. He said he had just used it on the call before me. He said that they would have to come out again and reschedule me.
Just for info, American home shield only covers 10 dollars per pound of freon and the rest is out pocket. My unit required 6 1/2 pounds. Active air heating and cooling charges 85 per pound, the consumer pays 75 dollars out of pocket , I needed 6 1/2 pounds. Do the math
I asked Carl if he would lower the price per pound and he agree on 60 dollars per pound, leaving me to pay 50 per pound out of pocket.
The following week a second person came out to fix the problem and I asked him if he brought the freon and he said yes but it was not the r22 freon, it was some alternative freon that was not ask good. I told him I wanted the r22, on what we agree on.
So nothing was done, they had to reschedule. One day before my 3rd appointment the called american home shield to cancel my service and I was reassigned with another company.
I called american home shield and asked why they had cancel and they could not provide me with an answer.
My guess is that Carl, the person in Charge of this business agreed on a price thinking he would pump some cheaper product without me knowing but I caught him in a lie and so he figure he would just cancel me.
I called American home shield, they gave the runaround and they could not get a hold of this company. I decide to cancel with American home, and the lady read the notes and said that Active air & heating reported that I was rude and felt threatened.
I GUESS WHEN YOU CATCH THEM LYING, THEY WILL LIE AND LIE AND KEEP LYING.
I explained to American home shield what they were up to but they didn't seem to care. That's why I cancelled my contract.
Just for info, First American warranty does not charge for freon.

This company was dispatched by my home warranty company (American Home Shield) to check my air conditioner which was not cooling. After a week of suffering through 90-100° temperatures, the technician arrived & supposedly checked the a/c and reported back to AHS that the compressor has failed & that the compressor is missing a part (filter dryer) which voids the warranty for the a/c. As a senior citizen, I am now roasting in my home & immediately hire a new contractor to check the compressor. He found that the part reported missing is present & that the compressor can be repaired.

I will be cancelling my contract with AHS for selecting such poor quality professionals to provide service in a critical situation.

American Home Shield that covers repairs or replacement of some items contracted this company to repair my a/c . The technician arrived on August 2 after having to await 12 days for an appointment. The technician showed me the wire that was melted form the connection and asked if I had a dirty filter which I said I had just replaced. He said that was the cause of the problem and repaired the wire and reconnected it . He also mentioned that because I have a vaulted ceiling my a/c unit wasn’t big enough and he recommended a additional unit. The a/c stopped working again August 13 the exact same thing happened again the wire melted. I call (AHS) to have the contractor come back, AHS said the contractor said my a/c is to small.
And there’s nothing they can do. I told AHS the contractor lied they never looked any further for the cause of the problem and that the size of the unit was approved by a housing inspector. This is very disturbing hearing this because if the technician believed this and reconnected the wire to the a/c unit my house could have caught fire. This to me is unprofessional and negligent.

This company was assigned to us via our Home Warranty (American Home Shield) for a repair in our furnace. Gas company said we have broken rods which they could see and gas leaks. The report that was turned into the home warranty was “ unit too small for house” . This has nothing to do with the needed repair. Repairman couldn’t wait to say “ I can’t repair this” and left within 5 minutes. Obviously, wanting a job to replace entire unit. Don’t recommend this company or the American Hone Shield.

Tech Arvin told me my fan motor needed to be replaced and he left. Arvin added information that he did not disclosed to me on his report which my home warranty insurance will not cover. Arvin said there was animal urine on the component inside my unit. My unit is approximately four feet tall. I did not see Arvin swap the unit and take a sample back to the lab. Now Active air & heating are not taking or returning my calls. AHS pick a winner winner to service their clients.

These guys are scam artists. I had to use them for my insurance company American Home Shield and the technician came over and bold face lied to me about the problem and what he would do. My property manager showed me exactly what was wrong. It was not the transformer but an electrical relay that was causing the buzzing sound. I called and left a voice message and no one has called me back in a week. The technician said he would forward me his report and he never has.

When I called the insurance company they said the technician said there was no mechanical problem at all, and nothing needs to be repaired.

If you want to get ripped off then go with these guys.

Update: I just read a 5/14/2022 review by Michael D. of Reseda, CA and EXACTLY the same thing happened with me. It seems like they have a scam going on to deny service requests as fast as possible that's why the insurance companies like them. What a load of lies.

I just saw two (2) more reviews that used American Home Shield and had the same result:

This company was referred to us by AHS. There was leak in the duct system which is what i told them. Instead of doing anything about it, they claimed its something to do with "balancer" and referred it to another business. Stay away if you want an honest company, if you want to get the run-around this is your guy.

Horrible. They came as part of American Home Shield (AHS) Home Warranty. Came once last month for AC that wasn't cooling. We paid $125 for the service fee, but a week later they had to be recalled to come fix it again. Gave us tons of dumb excuses why AC didn't work. Then Overcharged just for easy acid wash of 2 AC units. We paid $500 dollars and later they we found out locally we could have another service do it for $79 only. They would not refund or give any portion of overcharged money back. No empathy at all...Never use them. AHS shouldn't either.

I was forced to use them with American Home Shield. Took time to get them to come out and then over a week and they are still waiting on the parts. When I called them, they told me the part was covered but I needed a sediment trap on my gas line which is a bunch of garbage and an upsell to get more money. The part is 60.00 I looked up online and the sediment trap is 495. It is just a small piece of pipe you add to the gas line that costs 2.00. I said I did not want that part and the person on the phone got really mad, and said if I dont get that, they wont fix the heater. I called my own repair person paid 175.00 and the part was here the next day and everything working, and from the first call to completely being fixed was 2 days with ordering the part. I paid American Home shield 100.00 for the service call, what a waste. they only hire shady companies.

Unprofessional, unresponsive, and unreliable. I would never in a million years recommend Active Air to anyone. After two visits to attempt to fix my heater and a promise to return with a missing part, the company then ghosted me. We were without heat for nearly six weeks as I attempted to get a hold of them - I called multiple times, left messages. Our home insurance company (FAHM) also attempted to reach Active Air Heating & Cooling with no success. I can't imagine how a company that treats its customers this way is still in business. 1 month after my final attempt to reach them, after I had to get another company to come and finish the job, Active Air then had the audacity to reach out to me to ask me to refer them to others (?) after never returning my call or completing a service for my own heating system. When I pointed this out, they went back to not responding. At best, they are disorganized with terrible client service. But the impression I was left with was that they do not value their customers at all. Chose anyone else.

I was told by my home warranty to contact Active Air for the repair of my furnace. I called them got no response so I went to their website a placed a request for service today Dec 27. Last night at 9 pm received a message from confirming my cancellation of my appointment for today, which I didn’t cancel. I tried calling them this morning and no response also my home warrant tried calling and no response. They reassigned me to another company. There is no rating below one star so I’m not gibing them anything. Do not use them they are a rip off.

UPDATE: So after I posted the review below, the company reached out to my home warranty company to say that the unit could be fixed but it would cost $2,000 and it is not something that is covered by the home warranty. I opted not to have my house reek of marijuana again, so I chose NOT to allow them to come back. On three different occasions, these lying, unethical, bunch, told my home warranty that they had come out to do the work requested, which was a total lie. I found three other companies which came out and laughed at what these jokers had quoted. The actual work was less than a quarter of what needed to be done. Do yourself a favor and avoid this shady company.

Terrible service, the technician arrived to my house high as a kite, reeking of marijuana. He stood there looking at my mini split, told me stories of how he got bit by a dog, then he said he was going to say the motherboard was fried so I could get a new unit because determining what was actually wrong would be too much work, then he left.

Lo and behold, he submits a report stating the motor is burned out and is covered by the manufacturers warranty. Now my home warranty company won't do anything about it. What a conniving, unprofessional, lot. Stay away.

If it were possible to give a negative star review I would have. This company was contracted by American Home Shield to repair my AC. They canceled the first appointment 20 minutes before they were supposed to arrive. Rescheduled for two days later, then on that day didn't show up said they would be here later in the day when I called AHS to ask for another contractor I got the run around. AHS called Active Air and were told they couldn't come out all. I have never had this type of issue with a company in my adult life. I will likely be canceling my contract with AHS after this experience.
