Kash and his team(Duncan and Justin) are amazing! They came to the house to measure the carpets, pick them up, clean them and brought them back in perfect condition. They even wrapped them in plastic because they knew I was moving and that it would help me out. I cannot recommend them highly enough! They are absolutely wonderful.

We had a 200 year old Persian Carpet, with multiple stains and color fading, the ends were torn and the cross thread were coming out, the edges were bent. If we did not have sentimental value we might have thrown it in the thrash. Once Kash got his hands on it and did his magic, (it did take a few months, but we were in no rush) it was like new, we could not believe our eyes, he had very masterfully repaired the broken edges and ends. Removed the stains and recolored the faded areas. Remarkable service would recommend his service to everyone.

my experience with Kash was terrible. never got my rug back- was told the job would take a few weeks, which spanned months due to him "forgetting to contact me", and then him charging me for a job he didn't do and irrevocably changing my rug. his communication was extremely unprofessional and made me very uncomfortable. he quoted me a price and timeline to hand re-dye a rug of mine, then after months of trying to get updates he showed me he was not able to match the color and had started to dye the rug too dark. since he was unable to color match he had begun to shave down my rug instead (something he began without ever consulting me, and leaving me little choice since he forever changed the shape and color of my rug). he then lapsed on communicating with me again and when i finally got back in contact with him he told me he would be charging me for the hand dying, a service he had begun and then abandoned once he realized he couldn't do it properly. when i asked why he would be charging me for a service he didn't render he said that it was because he had already mixed the dye and didn't want to lose money on it. this is baffling to me. when i disputed this price he told me he shouldn't have been honest with me about not dying the rug because then i would have paid the original amount. beware of this business! i tried in good faith to come to a resolution here and was met with unprofessionalism, delay, bad communication, and services not rendered. im hoping this was just a one time mistake and not indicative of how the business as a whole behaves, but im left disappointed and without my beautiful rug

I recently had all of my rugs cleaned by LA Rug Cleaners and I have to admit that I'm extremely impressed by the level of service and professionalism I've encountered through this experience.
They are not the cheapest but their service and promptness justifies their pricing.

I love this place. I sent them my beloved living room rug, which was dirty and frayed. They returned not only a clean, beautifully restored rug but also told me that it is a vintage, valuable Portuguese needlepoint! I went to pick it up which is actually informative and fun because you get a tour of the facility. Great!!!!! Highly recommend for any rug, but particularly valuable cherished ones.

We brought in a white rug that had a small soda spill and had two rug cleaners come to the home and made the situation worse. we ended up with a green rug that I thought was done for.

Restoration Hardware on Melrose recommended this place and wow wow wow. Its brand new again.

I cannot recommend Rug Ideas enough. They were extremely thorough and careful with my 35 year old Belgian rug that I inherited from my parents. I admittedly had not taken care of it (especially through college years / 20's) and had even stored it rolled up on an outside porch for the past year. They really did a makeover on it and it's practically brand new. They are also extremely nice people and texted me updates along the way. I did my research before choosing them and nobody does what they do.

My parents shipped an expensive rug across the country to their store where they made alterations so that it would fit my space here in LA. The rug has been in our family for decades and is worth thousands. Dr. Kay not only made me feel safe about how their master rug weavers would do an excellent job altering the rug but also told me the origin of the designs on the rug and what they symbolize which I never would have known had I not taken it there.

It's a family business they have been running for decades and Dr. Kay's son, Kash is equally passionate and friendly. If you have any doubts that this is not the best place you could possibly take your rug to get cleaned or altered - just search "Kash Sobhe" on instagram and watch his videos cleaning and altering and restoring rugs. This is how a business should be run! So happy with my restored and altered rug!

Kash and his family are the best in the business hands down. Even though I don't own an expensive fancy rug, I was still treated with 5* customer service. This place is amazing. The work they do here was really incredible to watch — from the cleaning and drying process to hand-sewing repairs, they really know what they are doing. Dr. Kay and Kash were wonderful to work with and there is no one else we would trust to maintain the condition of our rug. We bought it in Istanbul in 2014 and it was way overdue for a cleaning from foot traffic plus a few stains from our elderly pup before he passed away. It now looks as good as it did when we bought it and feels even better!

STAY AWAY FROM THAT PLACE!

RUG IDEAS is the BEST! I work with an interior design company that is constantly looking to have vintage rugs repaired and cleaned and these are the only guys I trust! They have great communication and the price is very reasonable.

This is our second time using Rug Ideas and we highly recommend.

We have a wool/viscose blend area rug with cellulose fibers that turn yellow when wet. Any liquid that spills on viscose has the potential to turn the rug yellow. Trying to clean the yellow yourself will only make it worse. We discovered this the hard way. We spent $300 on a rug guy who made it worse with each try. So by the time we called Rug Ideas, we had a really big mess on our hands. We also learned a valuable lesson: Never use a low-cost rug operation to clean an area rug. They might be fine for wall-to-wall carpeting, but if you have an expensive rug, don’t waste your money on the inexpensive alternative. It’s tempting, but don’t do it.

Pros:
Rug Ideas are a very professional operation and very nice to deal with
They know what they’re doing
They will do the best possible job to fix your rug, but remember, no rug is entirely fixable unless you are willing to spend whatever it takes to restore it

Cons:
They take significantly more time than estimated to complete the job.
They are trustworthy, but I advise you wait until they can look at your rug in person before settling on a price. It’s hard for them to assess exactly what your rug needs until they see it with their own eyes. You can negotiate less work for less money (which is what we did) and get results that are good, but not perfect. For example, we decided to have them focus un removing the stain on the top side of the rug. So the top looks GREAT, but the underside is still a bit jacked.
They will try to sell you on advisable options that are tempting, but not offered in the price of cleaning (e.g. applying a protector to prevent future stains). It adds up fast.

Would I use Rug Ideas again? 100% yes. They know what they’re doing. And next time, they will be the first people we call. You won’t regret it.
