Jacob Sanchez from Rooter Man did a great job today. He arrived quickly within an hour or so and gave me a thorough explanation of what needed to be done. His assistant was also very helpful and polite. I would use them again and definitely recommend to others. 5 stars

Joseph was great! He's very knowledgeable about septic systems and offered advice for solutions to leech field problems that can potentially occur over long-term usage.
I'm also impressed by how professional and fast he was. At a time when prices are spiraling out of control, Rooter Man offers very reasonable rates - better than any other competitor I checked. Also, their staff are very courteous and take the time to notify customers if plumbers will arrive more than 30 minutes past their designated time. All in all, I will use Rooter Man for future plumbing needs and gladly recommend the company to others.

The worst company I have ever dealt with in my life as a homeowner. They advertise EVERYWHERE that they unclog drains for $49, possibly $125 if it needs to be done from outside. They came out same day and spent almost 2 hours “analyzing” my kitchen sink and dishwasher, then sits me down (red flag) to quote me FOUR THOUSAND DOLLARS!!!! let me clarify- the technician who came to my house was very nice but my complaint is specifically about this company and the supervisor named Sam. SO RUDE! I told him I simply asked for the drain to be cleared and I wasn’t looking to spend more than $200 (as advertised). Then he just laughed and said oh no way I can even do that. So then I asked why did you even come out here? Please leave I wouldn’t like any work done today thank you. Sam says okay you’ll just have to pay our service charge then, to which I REFUSED because when I called and booked this morning, the lady on the phone said NOTHING about a service charge and I am not required to pay that fee if it was not disclosed in advance. Then Sam gets very upset and makes a snarky comment “oh ok fine whatever we just wasted gas and time to come out there” ? Ok? That’s not my problem? If this company is scamming people out of $4k they definitely don’t need my little service fee! Would never recommend Rooterman to anyone they use false advertising and manipulation to try and get money from you. Complete waste of my time!

Excellent & professional service from all the staff that helped me. Great teamwork. Each step of the process was carefully explained and was able to view the pipe condition in the camera. Have 77 year old cast iron pipes under a slab that they were able to clean, descale and install a liner to rejuvenate them, plus a lot of work and cleaning to the septic system that involved a lot of hand digging. Thanks to all the staff that worked on my project. All were polite, efficient and made this project less stressful than it might have been.

I recently had the pleasure of working with Rick and I cannot recommend him highly enough. He was not only incredibly skilled, but very hard-working and considerate throughout the entire process. From the moment he arrived, he was attentive to our needs and took great care to ensure that everything was done perfectly. His dedication to his work was evident as he addressed every issue we had. It's not easy to find someone who combines professionalism with such a kind and thoughtful demeanor. If you're in need of a reliable and personable plumber, Rick is the one to call!

BUYER BEWARE! Their Google reviews looked good, but poor Yelp reviews were closer to our experience. I don't think I've ever left a negative review, but the circumstances of my recent experience with Rooter Man left me both baffled and frustrated. While our technician was friendly and his work seems solid, the initial inspection and service quote continued to grow and become more eye-poppingly expensive. The nature in which one issue suddenly led to another was exaggerated and eventually felt like predatory pricing.

After our initial $50 backed-up drain inspection, they recommended hydro-jetting. The $1000-ish hydro jetting price felt high, but our need was immediate, so we continued onward. The hydro-jetting revealed a disjointed pipe connection where our property line pipe met the main sewer line. Replacing this disjointed section of pipe would cost us $4200, which again felt high, but we agreed as we could see on the camera that there was in fact a disjointed pipe that was causing the back-up. When they dug up this area and began to repair the disjointed pipe, they found roots in the main line. They showed us this section of pipe containing roots, but claimed the camera couldn't make it past the roots to evaluate the rest of the pipe. They claimed the rest of the pipe could be just as bad. Through the use of inflammatory language and potentially disastrous what-if circumstances, they recommended we replace the entirety of the main line all the way to where it met the city sewer for a total of $20,000.

This is when we started to get second and third opinions, something I wish we'd have done sooner. All of those other plumbing companies recommended we finish the disjointed pipe repair, resume the hydro-jetting, and then investigate the remaining pipe to assess its condition before agreeing to replace. These other companies also gave us lower quotes for all of the services already performed, which was eye-opening. Rooter Man was reluctant to do what we asked, but eventually they agreed to finish the job they started and then run the camera for us. Once the disjointed section of pipe was repaired/replaced, the Hydro-jetting easily cleared the roots and revealed that the rest of the pipes were in good condition. The roots were only in a small section of the piping and came from a dead tree, which they then tried to convince us could return, even though the tree was clearly dead...

Their initial $20,000 pipe replacement quote then miraculously came down to $10,000. We declined. The whole experience felt like they were trying to give us doomsday scenarios in order to milk as much money out of us as possible. They knew we'd only recently moved into the home, and they were combative whenever we asked for further evidence or discussion on pricing. When we questioned which services were actually necessary versus preventative, everything was painted as immediately necessary. I didn't appreciate the way they spoke to my wife, nor how each new issue was described as a disaster if we didn't act immediately. In the end, we paid the $4200 for hydro jetting and for a small section of piping to be replaced.

They also broke our garden irrigation, some brick pavers, and uprooted some plants that weren't restored. When we told them this, they outright denied it. Thankfully we had pictures that were irrefutable, and they did repair the damaged irrigation. We've had no issues or communication with them since. If they'd been forthright with us instead of operating as they did, I would have used them again. The quality of the work appears solid, but their business manner and customer service approach was horrendous. Based on the way they chose to conduct business, I would never use them again or recommend them to anyone.

Charged me $1045 to replace angle valve in the bathroom. A 5 minute job. Stay away from these scammers

Aram Z was very professional w/ 15 years of experience. He was able to tell me exactly where the clog was, and what to do to remediate, so it doesn’t happen in the near future.

Edgar was professional and personable and fixed the problem immediately. He explained everything he was doing and was extremely knowledgeable. He tested everything prior to leaving too. I would recommend this company to anyone that needs their pipes unclogged!

I would be very careful dealing with this company. They quoted me an excessive amount to replace the main line. When I got a second quote they said they would match the price. The second quote was over 4,000 dollars less. They truly have no shame.

Harry N came out to trouble shoot the plumbing issue at our rental home and was very professional and knowledgeable providing options and worst case scenario. I highly recommend Harry

Normally, I usually use Thumbtack when I am looking for home repairs. But this time I used Google and I am glad I did because after the trauma of knowing that dreadful day all homeowners fear. It was time to replace under house plumbing. And the became further traumatized by finding out I would replace the pipes all the way to the street. So I was fortunate that I chose Rooter Man.

When Harry N arrived he was polite and intently listened to my problem.
When his rooter machine could go no further. He told me the risks of going further. And explained the risks of going further and damaging the rooter. He told me that his supervisor Sam K was coming to survey the damage and what the probable options would be.

Once the work was started Harry would inform me of what the state of the pipes they were removing were in and how they were progressing. He made sure to let me know when I could or could not use the plumbing. As the work progressed he made sure I was aware of how much longer the job would take to complete without any. problems. And was especially impressed when he asked if they could work later into the night. Which I was appreciative of because the sooner work was done the other better. Because plumbing disruptions are a big inconvenience to everyday life. When Sam K offered to replace my old toilet and install a new faucet in my old leaky one. How could I refuse. Harry installed my new toilet and faucet and did an outstanding job! Because when he was done. He cleaned the sink and bathroom and it looked like new! Which I am very appreciative of.

When the job was completed Harry walked me through how he and others cleaned up my yard back to the way it was when they started. So thanks Rooter Man for providing me with such a thoughtful and polite worker in Harry K. 🙏 And one last note. When Sam K informed me the costs of the projects I was staggered at the sum. But not surprised because I had a friend who paid more than I did to replace the to-the-street pipes. So I highly recommend Rooter Man for your plumbing needs, and or emergencies. I can honestly say I am very satisfied with their work and professionalism.

This is a repost of the original post which was typed on my phone which is not exactly typing friendly. Also, I have attached photos showing the first hole from my cleanout to the corner of my front yard. And the last two photos which showed how Rooter Man cleaned up my yard after all the digging and tubing. Very impressive and professional.

Unlike Roto-Rooter who tried a bait and switch on me today, Rooter Man told me prices up-front, showed up in about an hour and got the job (a little more complicated than expected) in 30 minutes. My tech was smart, capable and very respectful.

    Five-stars well earned.

They tried to bait and switch me.
Had me wait all day until 4:30 pm and then the technician came and said “we don’t snake commercial sinks ($125) , but I can hydro jet it for $850).

They were honest, informative and works fast. I would recommend them to my friends. Ask for Harry N. or Sam very helpfull.

Do not use this company. They are predatory. Will quote you one price online and then another over the phone within minutes of your appointment. Also online booking system is broken, scheduled an appointment and then they called me 5 minutes beforehand to let me know it wasn’t happening and couldn’t happen for next 72 hours.

I want to share my experience so others can be aware before hiring this company.

Rooter Man advertised their service for $49, but after arriving and performing a camera inspection and hydrojet, they told me that I urgently needed a D-scaling to prevent potential foundation damage. The technician named Sam strongly emphasized that this had to be done immediately.

They charged me $6,800 just for the D-scaling. Afterward, they claimed to have found a damaged area. However, when I hired another plumbing company to double-check, their camera inspection showed no damage in that spot—it was simply the sink connection to the drain.

Later, Rooter Man said there was “major damage” under the middle of my dining room and gave me a shocking estimate of $44,000 to repair it. I asked another licensed plumbing company to inspect the same area; they confirmed there was only one small damaged section, and the total repair—including camera work and hydrojet cleaning—cost me $5,800.

In addition, the second company found that the D-scaling done by Rooter Man had left debris inside the pipe, which they had to clean up. After doing some research, I learned that D-scaling typically costs between $800 and $1,200, not $6,800.

I’m very disappointed with Rooter Man for severely overcharging me for the D-scaling and attempting to upsell an unnecessary $44,000 repair. At the same time, I’m thankful I sought a second opinion and avoided spending that large amount.

I hope my review helps others make informed decisions and always get multiple estimates before authorizing major plumbing work.
