We wanted to install a generator for our home and called the recommended companies in our area. Other companies gave us an over the phone bid that was not only more expensive but that they couldn’t give us an accurate bid until they did an on-site evaluation. We actually scheduled an on-site inspection with one of them for three weeks in advance. Ben from State called immediately and set up an appointment for the next morning, came over and gave us a figure. He said they could start it in a week. He called later in the day that he had a cancellation and could start the next day. I signed the contract and the work started immediately. I actually asked if we could use a larger generator which would have meant more expensive and he said this size was adequate. The preliminary installation was completed and we only had to wait until the courier delivered the generator. His employee who did the work was extremely conscientious and friendly. The complete installation was done before any other company could even do a walkthrough and actually at a savings. Nothing but major Kudos for Ben and his staff!!!!

During a job that was done at a school site, between Edison & Taft Electric, a fence was left down.. someone failed to properly secure it, Since the fence was down my assumption was that they would return soon. Well that was not the case; yet I called, let them know my concern with the fence, an
on the day I called they came to secure the fence and apologize for their negligence.

    Terrible company.
They charged me $850 and came twice in a few months as they put in a bad part .
They came back and I was charged again only this time they sent two guys that had no idea what they were doing.
Gas co now says fireplace not legal and leaking .
Mike the owner does not hustle tee his work and refused to fix their mistakes .
I will have to go to court .
    Stay away .

High quality work. Rincon Mountain Electric arrived on time, got the job done quickly and we couldn't be happier. They were very helpful and we will definitely use them for our future projects. Highly recommended.

I've been using this company for years and I have trusted them. They are a very nice small business crew.
That's why I feel so let down by the work I had done more recently. I really trusted them. I don't know electrical or what's to code/safe, so that's why I hired them. If it's directly electrical related, as in outlets, they're the best. If it's anything that requires a bit of old home tweaking, I would go elsewhere. I had a bathroom fan installed and I've had more mildew than I've ever had before. This is with leaving the window open. It's either the fan itself isn't very strong (even on the highest settings), or the vent turns too sharply to allow proper air flow to vent outside. I've been forced to run a dehumidifier, which is spiking my electrical bill. It was around this time they came out a few times to recheck it, and I started to feel as if they blamed me. I'm not a picky person. I just want things to work cause I paid for it. I don't want a mold issue. There are no leaks. I'm going to have to repaint and re-caulk the bathroom again.
We had an attic and crawl space fan installed to circulate stagnant air, since our home tends to have a higher rh. I was happy with them finding fans to fit the space. I was shown how loud the attic fan would be, which I didn't mind. It never turns off, but it's not an issue. The crawl space fan was not previewed to me, and I did not know there was no return. I do not know what CFM is relative to noise level. I only knew it meant a larger fan. It sounded like a jet taking off under my house while rattling, and I had to have it immediately disabled. They offered to put padding on the fan, but at this point it was clear they were annoyed. It hasn't been turned on the entire time. I wear ear plugs cause of neighbors and love the sound of fans. It's like white noise to me. That was a waste of money, though. The rh has not even decreased with the attic fan.
The other fan I had installed was to replace a ceiling kitchen fan. I was very happy they were able to find a fan to fit. After that, I thought it was solved. Then I started to notice blobs of grease falling down onto our stove, stove knobs, and floor. We only cook once a night, if that, and always have some windows and the door open while the fan runs. Once I started to notice the grease increasing, I would try to clean it. That's when I looked up kitchen fan installations and if it's even safe to exhaust to the attic. It is not and a huge code violation. It's also supposed to have a screen and filter. I immediately stopped turning on the fan. It can cause mold in the attic and be a fire risk. That really upset me. This state is quickly losing fire insurers. I'm going to have to find someone to exhaust it properly for us. I get it if they don't exhaust the fans, but I wasn't told they don't or that I should immediately hire someone to do that work for safety.
Lately, it feels if you have any issues with work done anywhere you're seen as nagging. I was told to adjust my shower and cooking habits. So, take cold showers and never cook on the stove. I really liked them up till these four installations. It's so hard to find good businesses these days, but I guess I have to look elsewhere. I just wanted my money to be going towards jobs that worked out and were safe.

This company has been my first choice because they are professional and respectful. I had a chandelier to hang and it was easily done by Straight Line Electric.

I used Daren, Kevin and team at my property in the Ventura Keys. They installed can lights throughout, vent fans in bathrooms, junction boxes for ceiling fans and more. They were honest, pleasant, hardworking, high integrity and GOOD at their job! I've already referred them to family who had the same experience. I am a local real estate agent and I constantly have clients asking for referrals for tradespeople. Straight Line is at the top of my list when homeowners call me. If you need the best electrician in Ventura County, and you want competitive pricing without getting jerked around, call Straight Line.
