Pegasus Leak Detection helped my aging parents locate a leak in their plumbing while I visited them. They conducted themselves professionally and displayed much knowledge with leak detection, using the state-of-the-art equipment. They were personable and answered all my parents' questions. Pegasus saved me when got our first leak at our new home. We called three plumbing and leak services before Pegasus (because they were closer to our home in Ojai) that all could not find the source of a leak. When I called Philip, he was extremely helpful and was at our home in no time. The other contractors dug up multiple holes in our front yard with no success, and when Philip arrived, he quickly identified the leak on the other side of the house! I think Philip recognized that I was super stressed about the leak, but Philip walked me through the process, which helped put my concerns at ease.

Brilliant service. Our house sprung a slab leak! Our plumber recommended Philip's company. He came out to our property within 50 minutes of reaching out. We had an audible leak in our funeral home that we could not find. After calling Phillip at Pegasus Leak Detection, he was able to spot the leak and the plumbers were able to come the next day and fix the problem exactly where Phillip said they would find it! Would not recommend Phillip to anyone, only interested in his $450 per hour time slot this will be clear at your time of scheduling - found leak in 10 minuets with a pair of channel lock pliers ( No leak detection equipment ) it was a bad valve in sprinkler system. Said he could fix although wouldn’t apply any of the $450 per hour time slot to do that. Taken back I said ok let’s get it done - he said he would follow up next week and never did - hence the review. I found him a fast talking yes man clearly only money minded with zero compassion for his customer. Makes me wonder if the all the 5 star reviews are fake somehow? Nevertheless do yourself a favor when he sends the bill before showing up - find someone else. We had a water leak at my moms house and did not know where it was coming from. We called Pegasus Leak Detection and they came to the house right away. Very polite and professional. Turns out a pipe outside the house was broken which cause leakage inside the house. This saved us time and money. I highly recommend his services!!! Thank you

Pegasus Leak Detection was outstanding. I called Thursday afternoon and owner Philip and his team were at my home by 9 AM Friday. They were professional, friendly, and extremely helpful. They quickly identified the leak and provided multiple options my plumber could use to fix it quickly and inexpensively. A challenging issue turned into a valuable experience—highly recommend.

I'd been dealing with about 10 plumbers to get a main water line bypassed due to a slow leak between my house and the city meter. Due to an easement, I would have needed to pull city permits and hire a Class A plumber. Quotes ranged from $3K ("we can do it on a Sunday to avoid permits") to $6850 with permitting. I paid less than $500 for Mr. Becerra to find the leak in less than an hour and I fixed it myself the same day for $50 in parts! Workers in a utility vault had damaged my copper line. Pegasus saved me THOUSANDS for a new installation that was not needed.

The city informed us of abnormal water usage and confirmed it was a service line leak, which the property owner is responsible for repairing. We contacted Genuine Plumbing and Rooter Inc. The plumber inspected the property and stated with certainty that there was a leak but could not determine the exact location. The plumber referred us to Pegasus Leak Detection, and the leak detection visit was arranged following that referral.

Pegasus required an upfront contract offering either service the following Monday or same-day service with an additional $300 after-hours fee. Because this involved a confirmed service line leak requiring urgent attention, we selected same-day service. The contract was signed around 2:00 PM, and the technician arrived at approximately 5:00 PM. The total charge was $750, including the $300 after-hours fee.

The technician performed water pressure measurements. To our knowledge, the meter area — which is commonly associated with service line leaks — was not physically opened or inspected during that visit. He concluded that no leak was found at that time. We were informed that there could be unknown factors affecting detection and that a leak might become detectable later.

Due to the contradictory conclusion, we contacted the plumber again. He suggested modifying the valve system to make future leak detection easier for the referred detection company and estimated the modification cost at $1,205.

The following day, another professional inspected the meter area, removed soil, and immediately located and repaired an active service line leak.

We requested a fee adjustment from Pegasus Leak Detection. We explained that the leak had already been confirmed by the city, that the plumber had stated a leak was present, and that the service performed consisted solely of measurements. As customers, we have no ability to evaluate the technical process or conditions that may affect results.

Because the after-hours fee is associated with emergency response, we selected that option to address a confirmed leak promptly. However, the conclusion provided was that no leak was detected, and the leak was subsequently located and repaired the following day in the meter area. As a result, additional time and expense were incurred. This was part of the reasoning behind our request for a fee adjustment.

Pegasus Leak Detection responded that the contract had been signed and that the measurement service had been completed; therefore, the full fee would stand. No adjustment was provided.

We are sharing this timeline as factual information so others can understand our experience and evaluate their options carefully.

Jeff is the man! Hes more than just water heaters. He got a major problem solved for my main drain going out of my house. My home and plumbing inspector over looked it. He stepped up and got it solved. We did the remodel and now I have an amazing bathroom. Hes the only one that works on my plumbing now.
