Aaron was very responsive and calming as we entered into phases of uncertain design decisions; he guided us and met our needs with his expertise and knowledge. Don and his team have done an amazing job on my entire landscape overhaul. I added all new pavers and updated the wooden deck area to and existing deck, removed an old outdated hot tub and turned that area into another deck area, resurfaced an existing pool, and redid the entire front landscaping. Their work is exceptional. They respond quickly to any questions/concerns/requests I had. Everyday when they left for the day, they clean up and left my yard neat and tidy. We finished a thorough landscaping design and construction project with Alderland in San Leandro, CA, six months ago that exceeded all expectations! That's why I'm writing today: everything still looks fantastic. The entry process went smoothly since we felt taken care of every step of the way, from discussions on how we wanted things put out to obtaining permissions before building began. Most significantly, they were able to design something that was precisely what we wanted while still fitting with our natural setting here in California. We are completely blown away by how wonderfully everything turned out—so much so that friends are now asking who designed and built it! The symmetry between the Alderland office and the pool installation performed at our home in Danville was seamless (They took care of everything).

When we decided to spruce up our landscape this summer, there was no better choice than Alderland. From start-to-finish they provided an incredible level of service, offering advice on all aspects of design such as color selection and plant spacing. We also had them install a few new hardscaping features too which turned out great! They had us in mind every step of the way and made sure all our wants and needs were met. Don and his team took over another project that was unfortunately not going as planned, and with just a few weeks before Memorial Day weekend, Alderland desiged, executed (full landscape, hundreds a shrubs/flowers, sod, and entertainment) our dream backyard. We couldn't be happier with the outcome and more importantly, the communication, professionalism, and guidance that we received throughout the process. While there was a lot of ideas being bounced around Don knew when to step in and provide a firm opinion & everything was perfectly planned in coordination with us. After installation,we made a few minor adjustments that were on the house ultimately because I really felt the Alderland team wanted to get it right and make us happy. I’d be more than happy to be a reference for Don and his team and will be using them for our next major project.

My husband and I chose Alderland through a friend referral and backed up by the company's online reviews. We were in need of landscaping for our entire 1.15 acre property. Don and his team worked with us through the entire design process, which included a tricky hillside. He was able to keep the natural look we were going for as well. Don was able to stay within budget and finished our project on time. I even called with a water emergency (that turned out main water pipe burst to our house and wasn't a landscaping pipe) and he came out within hours with a team member and fixed it for us the day after Christmas! I highly recommend Alderland and his team!

Wow! An amazing team. Between Don's decade's deep expertise in the field and Aaron's exemplary customer service, it's hard not to be a fan of Alder Landscaping. They really helped us think through our property's potential and provided us with a design that pulled out all the stops.

Highly recommend them as a "one-stop-shop" to turning your backyard into an oasis. Particularly if you are installing a pool. Which is a highly complex undertaking. My only regret is not hiring them sooner.

After 40 years the backyard and front yard were long overdue for a makeover. Don and his team at Alder Landscaping were incredible from start to finish. We left the plant selection up to Don, and let’s just say the man knows his greenery. His design and placement choices brought the whole yard to life. I used to think “landscaping” meant planting a couple shrubs and calling it a day. Apparently, it actually involves briefly turning your yard into the surface of Mars before transforming it into something that might be featured in Better Homes & Gardens.

Now we've got a backyard that feels like a resort. The added lighting provides a perfect finishing touch and beautifully highlights all the features. There’s a lovely fire pit to cozy up around and enjoy peaceful nights under the stars, a pergola that’s perfect for relaxing with a drink, and a garden that my cat treats like her personal botanical amusement park. The space is stunning, peaceful, and honestly kind of magical.

I figured they would be someone I could count on since he'd won the best of east bay award five years running, and I was right. My backyard was a mess of weeds, crabgrass, and just general ugliness. They were able to take what little space I have and turn it into a retreat for my wife and I. This summer we had all sorts of compliments after a couple of dinner parties. Highly recommended.
