What a terrible company. They are unprofessional, incompetent, and RUDE! DO NOT HIRE THIS COMPANY! YOU WILL REGRET IT! The craftsmanship is questionable. The crews are sloppy and lazy. I cannot say enough about how awful they are.

RE has done many projects for our community. All have been handled with care, accuracy, and timeliness. Working with a knowledgeable professional team is refreshing and keeps RE on our speed dial.

My HOA used this business and I have 3 windows that they put in that do not work. One won't even open, the other 2 have string and metal on the sides that slip out. I have been waiting since 2019. They were replacing windows from the 2018 hail storms.

Our hoa had recieved a bid from this company@ they had presented themselves as knowledgeable experts in the area of water- drainage problems@ concrete repair@ related issues at an hoa meeting/ but from that point on their follow through was 3rd rate@ or non- existant / poor quality work@ illegal alien workers are the norm for their operation/ young inexperienced supervisors rarely are on site/ the company stole literally over 200k in overcharges@ unnecessary work! Our gullible hoa board got hosed over big time! @ still cant get them to return a call/ please take note of their dismal reviews@ do not ever hire these scan artists for any kind of work!! You will definitely regret it!! Im not sure how these people justify their corrupt business@ stealing from people but i guess thats the world we live in nowdays!

I was initially excited about this company when I attended our HOA meeting and they explained what they were going to be doing. That excitement quickly ended after they began their work on our condos. They promised the residents that their workers would not take our very limited parking spaces, yet daily we are having to search for parking spaces because their crews are taking up numerous spaces. I personally own two condos here and they began the gutter/deck work on one of my units and it was obviously the first time they did it because they put it up and took it down five times before finally getting it right! They have come to make corrections on my other deck six times and it still isn't done right! There crews have splattered paint on my air conditioning unit, dented it in several places because they used it to stand on instead of a ladder and placed ladders, gutter pieces, and wood boards on top of it! They put a hole in my screen door, left trash everywhere on my decks and surrounding areas that I had to pick up, placed their ladders, equipment, and building materials across our plants in front of the patio which killed them or knocked leaves, flowers, and branches off of them. They left nails and leftover building materials all over the ground and street. The people they hired had/have no regard for other people's personal belongings or living areas that we own. I definitely would not recommend this company to anyone!

My hoa hired thos company for exterior work on all our town homes. The crew lacks communication. They never warn you when they will be pounding away on the side of your house. I had pictures fall off my walls and break. Random men will be in my backyard when I need to let my dogs out and I have no warning. They block my car so when I have to leave for work I cant. It's been an absolute nightmare and reading the reviews proves it's just how this company is. Not to mention the work is the worse I've ever seen. Crapsmanship at it's best. They dont care.

Shawn did us a huge favor in a very timely manner! Our HOA ordered roof replacements for all of our townhomes in this association which is obviously a massive project. They parked in their own areas out of our way as much as possible. There definitely was debris in our back patio but that is expected with any exterior work you need done. They came back and cleaned up the best they could each day.

We reached out asking if we could get the inspection done ASAP because we are trying to close on our townhome and they resolved our issue within 2 days. Shawn was super friendly, we will always be thankful for their help!

I'll start off that my experience has only been as a renter. The homeowners HOA has used this company multiple times.
Now they are working in our community again and they are doing work again and these are some of the messiest workers. I've found no attempt after wrapping up there work for the day that they don't attempt to clean up their mess. This morning I spent my time having to pick up a lot of nails from their nail guns around my home and community before someone gets hurt or someone gets a unnecessary flat tire. Then again they lag on notifying occupants when they will be working on certain parts of the home where they will need to be blocking a garage or the home at all when its their turn. Will leave on a good note they did though this time with the cement reconstruction part they have notified us days before and gave us dates for when it happens. Then what they need us to do for them as the occupants.

You notified residents, clearly marked no parking areas, showed up this morning with a large crew as well as plenty equipment and finished 5 road construction areas this evening.

Overlook Townhomes HOA

As a Colorado Springs Native, I always seek to support companies that bring dynamically stellar residential and company provisions to our city-who lead from the front and by example. During the last quarter of 2025, this precise level of integral quality is what I’ve witnessed from and experienced with Reconstruction Experts from the top to bottom of their staff working in tandem with their subcontractors. They’ve diligently worked as a finely tuned crew not only on the major roofing project of the condo property where I reside, but also in a most professionally efficient manner with tenants and owners all the same. No question or concern has been too small for the owner or crew on site to promptly address, as they have all been equally and readily approachable. Our property has remained clean and free of debris, as we’ve seen the crew come onto and leave site with the greatest attention to the entire area by walking it daily. I’m not one to loosely leave reviews for company or employee tasks and projects that’s their job to complete to begin with. It’s the ones like this company that make their specific industry shine as a genuine asset to the city I call home-and how they’ve completed each phase of the project while reflecting that prioritization of everyone on all sides of the final lasting product. I highly recommend Reconstruction Experts for private and community home projects-as a company to keep your eyes on for all the right reasons.

Amazing company and people, especially Jon and Chadwick. Everyone was polite, communicated everything, kept me updated, and did beautiful work while respecting our home and belongings. Work was completed by their estimated time. Found one small post-construction issue and they were here within 24 hours to fix it. Would call them again in a second to do the next project in our home. Highly recommend this company.

Jim Black Construction fixed up my rental home after a major water leak. Everyone I contacted was courteous and professional. The repair crew worked directly with my tenants which kept my from relaying multiple messages daily for weeks. Our tenants were very happy with the work During my final walkthrough, I discovered they had done an excellent job.

Chris was our project manager and did a great job. Standouts were the drywall and flooring guys. Everything was on schedule and with a couple of minor things on the punch list, they scheduled for the following week.

2nd time using Jim Black at this house. Highly recommend!

Had Jason from Jim black construction come give me a quote after a recent fire that happened in my back yard that affected a building by the back fence. The neighbor’s fence was damaged and had Astro terf. While giving me a quote, he wouldn’t stop telling me how excited he was about doing business for my neighbor because of the cost of Astroturf. Since then, I had to get a protection order from my neighbor. You will see why this is relevant later. I get a text out of the blue today from Jason Asking if You can come into my yard because I have no trespassing signs posted. I informed him that I was going to wait until the court proceeding was over in two weeks And that this being my busiest time of year I also wouldn’t be available for two weeks. At which point I was basically told they they’re gonna do it anyway anyways And that I need to come move anything away from the fence. I feel this behavior happened, purely for the fact that I did not take them on as a contractor when they would say things like We normally do big repairs. This isn’t something we would normally even consider. Whilst hitting me up every week about it for several weeks trying to move forward.

Chris and his team at Jim Black construction did an excellent job refinishing our basement. The crew did a fantastic job from tile, drywall, painting,, and carpet installation. We are pleased with the entire job. Job well done!

Jim Black Construction was professional and did great work. I met with their construction supervisor, Chris Eddins, and he laid out a timeline and it was done. The crew members were on time, left a clean area every day, did wonderful work in my kitchen, and were very accommodating of my requests. I cannot say enough wonderful things about them and would rehire them in a minute. My kitchen looks great! Thank you!

Exceptional! Chris and Michael did a fantastic job restoring our Kitchen and Laundry Room. My stress level quickly dropped when they took over. Super easy to work with and insured the work was the highest quality of craftsmanship. This was an un-planned renovation due to flood damage so we were not prepared for this endeavor thanks to the Jim Black team the job progressed according to the schedule Chris was able to give me in the beginning.

We had busted pipes due to the -20 weather in Denver a few weeks back. Jim Black Construction was great to work with. They were on time, super communicative and stuck to the schedule which we appreciated. Highly recommend Michael and Chris from Jim Black for any construction or remodeling needs!

After water damage to the interior of our home, USAA assigned Jim Black Construction to do mitigation and restoration. Boy were we lucky! Our project manager, Chadwick, stuck with our job every step of the way making sure work was done in a timely and expert manner. The work included carpeting install, dry wall, wallpapering, tile work, etc. and I am very happy with it all. Unfortunately the work had to occur during the time my husband was home on Hospice. He appreciated the kindness and consideration of all of Jim Black's workers. I recommend this company highly!
