3 months ago we embarked on the journey of having to use home insurance in an emergency. Our upstairs toilet started pouring through our downstairs ceiling. We called another company to come help and then called insurance. Insurance said to try out Jim Black because they work with them closely. I called Jim Black and they came out same day. They were much nicer, answered all my questions, and made me feel comfortable with the situation and next steps. I called the first company and let them know we weren't going with them. Miguel came in and walked through several times with me to make sure we got everything down. We worked on what flooring to get etc. Jessy was the reconstruction supervisor and he worked with our hectic schedule. Having 2 dogs, 2 cats, and only being able to live in 2 rooms in the house was hard and complicated. If I had any questions I'd text Jessy and he'd respond right away. If something didn't get done that was supposed to happen I'd text Jessy and boom it was getting done. There were a few hiccups along the way but Jessy fixed them all. I'm finally getting my house back and I can't wait for it!

This was the third time we have used Jim Black construction. Twice for repairs after water damage and this time for wall repair after foundation work. Every time they have been fantastic. Easy to work with, quick to get scheduled and very efficient. Chris and Michael are great. We cannot say enough about the man they have doing drywall repairs. You cannot tell where the patches are and he is quick and thorough. They’re who we will call if we have any future projects.

Chadwick the Foreman was awesome to deal with. Attentive, checked in often. Sam was also great. Bathroom & garage rebuild work was outstanding. Thank you so much for a great experience.

We were dealing with a 2 year process from being scammed by DSI as they went out of business and put substandard material in our house all through USAA. When USAA asked who we wanted to use to rectify the situation, we chose Jim Black construction. We are extremely pleased with the professionalism, the punctuality and overall focus on efficiency and time on target with our claim being rectified. Our superintendent, Jessy was amazing! He was extremely respectful and knowledgeable in getting us taken care of. We had a second superintendent named Chadwick that was responsible for the cabinet replacement in our kitchen. The work he did was immaculate. Our kitchen now looks brand new because of it. Jim Black Construction not only met our expectations, they blew them out of the water. We were fortunate to have our claim handled with such care and attention. We would absolutely recommend Jim Black construction for your construction needs! 10 out of 10!

Jim Black construction helped me with an insurance claim and bathroom remodeling project. Jessy Moran was the project superintendent, he communicated well and managed the work very efficiently. Sub contractors were also all excellent. I’m extremely pleased with the final product!

Staff was great to work with. When water damage occurred they immediately started the drying process. When I had problems connecting the insurance representatives and adjusters, the staff interceded on my behalf. The drying, floor repair and refinishing went extremely well. We are highly satisfied. I would certainly recommend Jim Black Construction to everyone.

My basement flooded and ruined my carpet, and a good portion of drywall. My entire experience with Jim Black Construction was extremely delightful. The flood mitigation, handled by Luke and Pearce, was seamless and all steps of what was needed was explained to me which put my mind at peace.

The process to rebuild was handled by Mike, Chris, and Sam. This process was also very easy for me. I was given a schedule for the expected work and they were great about working around my schedule. The end result showed that they were very focused on the details. They had someone come back out to the property to clean up some marks that another party had made during the process.

I would absolutely choose Jim Black again for any of my home projects. I had a water line break and damage 3/4 of my home. The process was so much easier than I ever could have imagined. The contractors were all considerate and professional. When we hit a snag with the subcontractors, the The head contractor did not hesitate to take care of it and get new people on the job the next day. I am really grateful that USAA chose Jim Black as my contractors and I was very fortunate to have Chadwick as the head contractor.

Jesse and Jason were great to work with! They were very respectable and explained everything to me. Jesse's crew was great. Even when inclement weather had happened, because of living in the mountain, during the rebuild they got it taken care of. I am very thankful for them and would recommend Jim Black Construction to everyone.

Jim Black Construction took such great care of my home. Would definitely hire them for another project! Had water damage and they came out the same day to mitigate my property, on a Sunday nonetheless! Jason and Jessy were very communicative and kept me updated on the project. They were professional and efficient, finishing the job in less than a month! 10/10 experience!

None of my Soldiers (of my 22 years of training them) or any of my staff (in the 7 years of owning and running a Restaurant) have I ever gave a compliment (you can call and ask!). So, when I tell you that I am dumbfounded on incredible Jim Black Construction is, maybe you will understand.

My kitchen flooded due to natural causes (My Mother was Visiting) and I have never had to invoke house insurance before. My insurance company was so incredible (if you have served, you know), that they told me, “We have done so much successful work with Jim Black Construction, whatever they say you need, we will say OK”. With a testimony like that, I was feeling good!

Within 12 hours the Project Manager, Miguel Hernandez, showed up at my house. He noticed every little detail from water damage at the sink area to the fact my Crocs have no tread left. Within hours, the crew from Luke Olsen’s Mitigation Team came with their Fans and Dehumidifiers. After 7 days of that noise, I could have slammed my neck in a sliding glass door.

That’s when the Superintendent of Jim Black showed up, Mr. Chris Eddins…
He came in like the John Wick of the Construction Business. He explained everything that is gong to happen and how long it is going to take. This is where I became impressed. He asked me (I have it recorded if you question it), “I can let know you every hour of every workday on the status, or I can let you know as things develop. How would you like to be informed”? I lost my mind…

Less than a month later, his team built me a kitchen I could only dream of. Me being me, I was only unsatisfied with 2 things. He not only fixed them quickly, but he did also it with some Billy Jack Style.

I have never been so satisfied with any business. If you don’t ask for a quote from Jim Black, I am sorry that you are not intelligent enough....

Jim Black Construction was absolutely amazing! Our dishwasher leaked, which required an insurance claim to replace the floors in the majority of our upstairs. Jason and Chris were wonderful to work with. They made the process so smooth and seamless. We didn’t have to lift a finger! The entire staff was personable and so enjoyable to have in our home. Sam was amazing at carpentry. Yamilk and his team handled our furniture so well and were so kind. The floor team was great. I already have them giving me quotes for more projects!

Amber, my project manager, was fantastic. She kept me informed at every step, explained things clearly, and always made sure I understood what was happening. Her communication alone took so much pressure off my shoulders.

Chadwick, the superintendent, was equally impressive. He not only oversaw the work, but also maintained solid communication with the contractor they brought in. It was clear he cared about the quality of the work and made sure everything was done the right way.

Overall, Jim Black Construction delivered professionalism, clear communication, and great workmanship from start to finish. I’m truly grateful for how smooth they made the process and would absolutely recommend them.

We had an excellent experience with Jim Black. They were incredibly responsive and arrived within an hour of our late-night call about water damage. The quality and speed of their work were outstanding, and we had zero issues during the quality-assurance inspection. Chadwick and Amber were wonderful to work with and went above and beyond to protect the work area - especially thoughtful given that we have a new puppy at home. Highly recommend!

Jim Black Construction was assigned to us through our insurance company for rebuild after water damage. Amber and Jessy were very easy to work with - communicative and efficient. We very much appreciate Jessy and the quality work he and his team did. He even went above and beyond to help us resolve an unrelated issue he discovered. Our basement looks great! Jason and Jessy are incredible with communication, quoting, keeping everyone posted as to timing and all the subs involved during our home exterior roof and home and deck painting from the 2024 Fathers Day hail storm. Even during all the weather changes we’ve had during the Fall, we have an incredible New looking home that stands out amount the others on our street! Thank you Jim Black construction! DO NOT use Richard Villanueva for any construction or handyman work! He did not pay attention when I told him what we wanted, wrote down incorrect information, did not finish the job, and then expected us to pay for his mistakes. He basically stole $2500 from us. He is dishonest and unreliable. BEWARE!!!!!!

This company came out this morning and without notice or warning, put a "No Parking Sign in front of our house right next to my husband's car with a city ordinance number of 10.25.101. Accoeding to my ring camera, tgere was no sign that was staked in my yard at 11:05am and at 11:19am, there was a sign that was pit/staked in my yard and one of their workers took a picture of my husband's car license plate, they didn't wait very long to take pictures of people violating the ordinance. I'm at work and my husband got home at 5am today and was asleep, so he didn't know anything. I called the company and they didn't seem to care about the hardship they put on those residents that they block from parking, and don't care if or concerned mabout my husband not being able to park anywhere. Don't know where my husband is supppsed to park when he gets home. Funny thing is, the work they are doing is on the other end golf the street, why are they blocking us from parking in front of our house?

Just worked with H.D. Concrete to have 3 driveways and a long section of concrete sidewalk poured for our HOA. Am absolutely pleased with the experience. The bidding was straightforward with the owner showing up on time, a knowledgeable discussion of the scope of work and questions answered, and prompt submission of the bid which was very competitive. The crews showed up on time as promised, the tear down of the existing worn concrete was done quickly and the cleanup of the rubble was neat and well-coordinated. The new concrete pours were done on time and the finish work was professional. A real shout out for the owners, Freddy, Alfredo and Maria. I recommend HD Concrete highly.
