I would give him 10 stars out of 5 if I could. I have a list of electrical work to do in my home. Peter gave me a quote for all the work as separate projects. He was easy to schedule with. The first job he did was disconnect a shed with power (because the shed is being moved). The outlet next to the shed on the back of the house, I still wanted it to be a live outlet. There were 2 boxes which could of been the live outlet, a blank one and one that the shed was connected to. I didn't know which one to use, so Peter suggested we use the one box for the live outlet and remove the outlet where the shed was connected to altogether because it had the piping attached to it and would look ugly on the wall with the other box there as well. I took his suggestion and when I saw the result was so glad I went with his suggestion where I did not know better. He was completely right. He put a gorgeous outlet in that has a plastic door over it that pops out. He also made me pop it out to make sure I knew how to do it. He was easy to work with, great communication and highly skilled! I have more projects that he will be doing and I'm so glad to have him on board! Someone I can completely trust, not only to do a great job, but to make suggestions of what to do where I don't know any different! Thank you Peter for being so great!!!

Front Range Electric was very responsive and had knowledgeable, friendly guys! The estimate beat competitors and included only what I needed, which was a total panel upgrade, the first time, then some fixes to incorrect wiring with kitchen switches as a follow-up. The techs worked hard and did and excellent job of collaborating. They showed me how to access the box, answered my questions, and did the work I requested. There were several issues that caused me to change my 5-star to a 3: First, there was an issue with one of the jacks on the roof. It was done incorrectly and the roofing company had to fix the mistake. This company did not communicate about the plan from their side and did not send anyone to correct it when I called them. They did work it out with the roofers to fix the error, but did not include me in the communication. Second, I was charged an hour and a half for 30 minutes of work on the second job. I reached out for clarification and was also not contacted about this. Not knowing electrical work, it is hard for me to have confidence with this company now because of the issue with the roof and the lack of communication. It appears the work they did was sound aside from these issues. Overall, I am now unsure if I will give them another chance.

Finding awesome services are difficult but I knew when I got a call from Peter this would work out. Matt came out and installed our 220V and an entryway light in no time and their price was super reasonable. Will definitely use them again. Thanks for the great service!!

The original lighting in my garage left a lot to be desired; it was enough to prevent me from tripping and having an accident, but offered little else. I selected Front Range Electric to perform an upgrade.

Front Range Electric is a local business, established close to 20 years ago. My experience with them confirms their team is a premier CO provider. Small residential to large commercial, they are a company you can trust.

As I was studying my options, Peter from Front Range dispatched to perform a site survey. We discussed several solutions. Later, Charlie provided me with a detailed estimate.

Lighting can be very subjective. What works for one person might not for another. But there are some common definitions.

Lumens is the amount of light, the intensity of light, striking a given area.

Frequency notes the color of the light, higher frequencies being bluer, whiter.

Ambient light is the overall light in a given area.

Task lighting is specialized lighting, for a workbench or hobby area.

In the original setup, I had two ceiling lights in one section, giving the garage 4.5 lumens a Square Foot, the CFL light bulbs coming in at about 3500K (yellow/soft yellow). I came up with the attached: a design which would give me close to 30 lumens a SF of 5000K light.

David and Joey from Front Range Electric were assigned to the project. A drawing and ceiling markings gave them an idea what I was looking for. Of all the time spent, most was on measuring and then cutting the ceiling, several checks being performed from different reference points to ensure everything lined up perfectly in the correct locations.

Throughout the installation, David and Joey took a detailed, methodical approach. They were not interested in completing the job quickly. They wanted it done right. They treated my garage as if it was their own.

The end result was dramatic. Previously, the garage was a cave. Now, it's like I'm standing outside on a sunny day. From one inch of the garage to the other, there is, clear, bright, ambient light. Any shadows involving objects are subtle, subdued.

Several references I studied noted 20 lumens a SF for a garage would be considered a minimum. 30 a SF works well for me. Any brighter, I feel the area would begin looking harsh and antiseptic.

Some prefer the LED light strips versus individual drops. Looking for ambient light, I felt drops were more appropriate; this solution is more granular, the light spread out over the entire area.

If considering a similar project, I'd focus on ambient light first, trying that out, then install any specialized or task lighting afterwards.

I used simple, common, Phillips 1500 lumen, 5000K bulbs. Total electrical load, all lights on in the garage, is 135 watts, about 1 amp of current. For a larger volume, like a tall RV garage or barn, common lamps might not work well. Specialized fixtures for something like a warehouse might be more appropriate.

5000K bulbs are bright, white light. For the garage, they work. Inside the home in a living room, probably not. If you're unsure, buy a few bulbs and try them out. If you have a light you can move around, get a ladder and do so, to help give you can idea where the lights can be installed.

Finally, if installing a series of drops, consider segmenting those into zones. While I love the new lighting, it's a bit much if just popping in and out of the garage. The ability to light one area at a time, or all of it, is nice.

You've got a lot of options with electrical and lighting in-particular. Whether a repair or upgrade, Front Range Electric is a team you can rely on to ensure the work will be done to the highest standard.

I had a potential electrical issue after a motion security had been incompletely installed and not sealed before this impending upcoming rain/snowstorm. Another electrician I called couldn’t come for several days, so frantically I called Front Range Electric. Owner Peter answered and assured it would be taken care of today (24 hours before storm arrives). Glen gave a courtesy call before arriving and Immediately assessed the issue. The motion light had been connected improperly. He rearranged the wires correctly and efficiently reattached the lights and applied sealant so the rain/snow wouldn’t cause damage. Cost was reasonable and well deserved, and I was GRATEFUL for Peter and for Glen! I am now a customer for life! As a retired teacher, I assessed performance for 16 years. Front Range deserves an A+ for responsiveness, reasonable cost, polite, respectful, going above and beyond, and sending a skilled electrician! AWESOME! Thank you!

Nich and Sergei did an awesome job and worked very fast without missing any details. They came out on a Saturday morning only two days after I initially called to make an appointment. Front Range's pricing is just right and they won't try to talk you into any unnecessary upgrades to make an extra buck. I definitely recommend this company for any electrical work, no matter how big or small.

Peter was absolutely amazing. What I thought was my smoke alarms blaring, turned out to be just an old carbon monoxide monitor. He could have easily said that I needed to replace my system of smoke alarms but instead found the problem instead of guessing. Truly appreciate his honesty and will definitely recommend Front range if anyone asks. Thank you again for all your help and quick service.

Chris came out and installed three electrical outlets and a canned light in a closet. He ran into multiple issues as our home is older and has unique features. He overcame every obstacle completing the job perfectly. He also kept to the original quote and cleaned up all drywall debris and dust. I wish I rate him and his company more highly than 5 stars as he deserves it!

Excellent experience with Peter and Chris. Reasonable pricing and negotiation, and Peter went above and beyond by directly recommending what we needed instead of all the extra unnecessary permits/ disconnects another contractor wanted to use for a panel upgrade than a panel repair. Ended up with a substantial upgrade to our unit based on a failing bus bar with 32 circuits, and tesla charger that was unable to draw full power. Chris was very meticulous when he installed the new 40/80 200-amp panel. They handled all the permits and disconnects in Colorado Springs seamlessly! Peter followed up the next day with the inspector and passed us immediately.
