Great Customer service via email and came when expected. But at the time of the estimate I interviewed to make sure they knew how to properly trim trees and not just a chop job and they said yes. So I expected proper equipment and job done within arborist standards. Nope. Chop chop. A couple of branches that could of been cut at the crown instead were cut with a manual saw out a foot or two on multiple smaller branches. It took longer and only encourage new growth and looks chop chop. At least for now the goal of away from the roof was satisfied. But they do not know proper pruning techniques, at all. ...ps call master gardeners at the county exchange tree artisans, they will send you a fact sheet on how to prune.

November 2024 Update: We hired Tree Artisans a third time (maybe we have too many trees...) and their service remains as awesome and comprehensive as it was when I first hired them more than five years ago. Company culture and values must be stringent to have achieved this level of consistency over time! Taylor and Barry hung out in our trees all day and did a fantastic job pruning, removing dangerous limbs, and providing exceptional cleanup and haul-away afterwards. Very friendly guys happy to explain everything they were doing and why. Will definitely hire Tree Artisans a fourth time when the time inevitably comes!

Original review: I've hired Tree Artisans twice in the last five years and have been very pleased with their timeliness, professionalism, and competitive pricing. They clean up the sidewalk/street daily after they're done, which my neighbors appreciated. We hired them for a two day job that required removal of several large trees, including a 45 foot cottonwood, without damaging any surrounding structures. They also removed old stumps, dead shrubs, small trees, and a woodpile. We can't even tell there used to be trees and stumps in the areas they cleared. Office staff is friendly and prompt, as well, and they accept credit card payments with no up charge. Great job overall, will continue hiring Tree Artisans for our tree maintenance needs

Professional, timely, and fair. Very very nice people to deal with from start to finish. Zero complaints. In my top 5 contractors I’ve ever used in the Springs. I had previously tried using a different company, A1 tree removal, based upon a friends recommendation and that turned out to be a mistake. A1 tree service no-call-no-showed on me twice! I got lucky the second try by choosing Tree Artisans.

I had an Elm tree that had more dead branches every spring. I definitely didn’t want to loose this tree since houses in my neighborhood are so close together. This mature tree was providing great privacy & shade in the summer. Jack came out and diagnosed it with an elm beetle infestation. Dosed it with an insecticide & fertilizer. A crew came out a couple weeks later and trimmed the dead branches off. It looked great last Spring and I’m expecting it to look even healthier the Spring. It is already starting to bud.

I wholeheartedly recommend Tree Artisans. I've had Jack to my house a couple of times, and each time he has been timely, thoughtful, educational, and just a genuinely nice guy to work with. He doesn't oversell or over diagnose, where I am sure he could get away with it, given his expertise.

If you are having any troubles with your trees, give him a call.

This is a review prompted several years after the service was done. Don't let them put metal cables in your tree. 3 months after they put a metal cable in our very old cottonwood tree, we had a bad hail storm with a lot of lightening. It hit that metal cable and went straight down the tree and out the bottom. They came out at that time and gave it nourishment but this tree is slowly dying from the lightening hit. At the time I expressed my concern about a metal cable and was told lightening never hits it..it seemed like common sense to me but I trusted the professionals and I'm very sad I did. This tree won't last more than a couple of years. We are keeping it as long as we can because we have always loved this tree. Sometimes professionals don't have common sense...

Team 2 did an excellent job. They arrived early and completed all work in four hours. They were meticulous in removing dead growth from two trees and did a great job with clean-up. Team members were very personable, knowledgeable, and skilled for the work they do. I would definitely use this service again.

I've used Tall Timers Tree Service for many years. A few weeks ago, I had another AMAZING service on the cottonwood, this time by Juan and Jacob/"Yoshei". It's been about 3 years since Tall Timbers removed the upper 40 feet of the cottonwood (see first review below).

After 3 yrs, HUGE slabs of bark were quickly coming loose and threatening to fall on me, the house, and the fence. Juan and Jacob showed incredible talent in de-barking the entire dead cottonwood safely! Just like always, the mess was thoroughly cleaned up (and there was A LOT of mess, with the bark, all of the Virginia Creeper that had been all over the tree, and the incredible amount of "papery tree stuff" that was under all of that bark!).

They even noticed an antique insulator mount that I had inadvertently left on the tree before the de-barking---thought it was gone for good, lost in all that mess.... but Juan and Jacob had kindly placed it where I would find it!!!

    THANK YOU SO MUCH!!

A HUGE THANK YOU also to Meghan and Lauren at the office for their help to get this job scheduled earlier than originally planned--- before anything bad happened!!! I am so relieved....Tall Timbers has never let me down!

I owe a great many sincere thanks to TALL TIMBERS (& estimator Chase), the cutting team led by Justin, and Elite Crane (operator Brian). A 65-yr old cottonwood (110 ft-plus, >4 ft diameter trunk, ~10 ft from the back of the house) routinely dropped large branches with every wind or snowstorm. But, I’d had enough when, in the May 2022 snowstorm, a huge branch punched holes in the roof, resuling in interior ceiling damage).

I asked for canopy removal bids from 6 tree service companies. Three drove by, saw the tree, and kept on driving. I got 3 bids, all involving use of a crane due to the tree’s location. Two bids involved closure of the street. Only TALL TIMBERS said there was no need to close the street (saving $$ in city charges), as long as I could put up with 2 crane outriggers in my landscaped yard.

I had used TALL TIMBERS previously, and knew they were dependable, worked safely (for both the crew & my house), were thorough with cleanup.

Only TALL TIMBERS sent out an Elite Crane representative to talk directly with me, noting the proposed outrigger locations so that I could temporarily move the plants.

Only TALL TIMBERS proposed doing the job in late August. One of the other bidders wanted to wait until October when leaves would be off the tree so that the man securing the branches to the crane rigging “could see what they were doing”. TALL TIMBERS saved me weeks of worrying during wind events and the bonus of not having to do fall raking one last time!

    TALL TIMBERS completed the job in approximately 8 hours, (with an additional 2 hrs put in by Elite Crane for setup /tear down. {One of the other bidding company's said it would take 2 to 2.5 days!}

Their efficiency was unbelievable; the coordination between the crane operator and Justin in the tree was astounding. I stayed in the house running back and forth between the front & back windows to watch as Justin roped ~8-ton sections, followed by crane operator Brian swinging them over the house into the street where a crew of 3-4 sent the upper portions into a massive shredder with lower large logs lifted by crane into a log truck. They kept the side of the street where they worked cleaned between “dismantling” each tree section, so that nothing would cause a problem with anyone driving through on the other side of the street (even using the leaf blower between each section’s removal). Some neighbors left cars on the other side of the street from where the branches were being placed by the crane, but with the amazing skill of the crane operator and the crew in the street, there was no damage to anything! It was truly mind boggling that this level of skill exists!

THANK YOU TALL TIMBERS AND ELITE CRANE!

Professional interactions and they did a good job. Pricing very comparable to others. Another "tree trimmer" hacked up our bushes. Tall Timbers cleaned up the other guy's mistakes and left the area looking nice.

Tall Timbers crew 3 did a great job on our trees today. We had used them in the past and they have always been excellent, and reasonably priced too. Daniel, Juan and Leon all went above and beyond today and were patient with us as we tried to find the balance between trimming too little and too much, and keeping the tree healthy. They cut one tree down, trimmed three more, and cut the larger limbs into sections for our fireplace. They did a superb job of cleaning up afterwards. And they did it all with care, professionalism and a great attitude, on a 93 degree day! Thanks, guys - you rock!

Team 1 was fantastic! The site is so clean after their work. The price is worth the great work. Ian, Colin, Yoshi, Kevin and Ken are a great, safe team.

Good work, good service, good price. They were especially awesome with working around the construction that was happening in the street. Couldn’t be happier.

What a great experience with Jacob and Crew 7! I contracted Tall Timbers to trim a huge amount of dead branches from two large cottonwoods in my back yard. Crew 7 arrived and got to work. They were well organized and worked great as a team to get the job done. It was impressive to watch. They cleaned the yard afterwards and even made time to play with my dog Molly for a few minutes. She loved the attention. Thank you Crew 7 for doing a fabulous job! Keri in Fountain

The gentlemen that came from Tall Timbers did an excellent job safely removing our ash trees. The trees were in an awkward place between houses and along a fence, and they skillfully removed everything without damage to any property. They also did a wonderful job cleaning up afterwards. My neighbors even commented on how well they did with everything. I highly recommend Tall Timbers!

Mick the lead climber was courteous and professional. He pointed out to the other two crew members the native plant garden I had at the base of the tree they were trimming and told them to be sure and be careful to not damage the plants.

The other two crew members were efficient and professional they removed a large dead limb safely and did an excellent job trimming as well as cleaning up. Will hire them again when my trees need maintenance.
