After over 2 months of waiting for a return call from another company, I called River Valley on Friday at noon. I had a return call at 1 and 2 technicians at my house at 4:30! They had our house warm for this weather in an hour and a half at a more than fair price! Very professional and honest. Thanks Matt and your helper as well as the office lady who took my call! We appreciate you fitting us in and being kind enough to go the extra mile to help during such a busy time.

Be aware the RV P&H pads their estimates significantly, in my case I ended up paying over *twice* the actual repair cost.

On a recent repair I engaged RV P&H on what was a simple repair. After providing a detailed video and description of the repair they gave an estimate of $1220, which seemed incredibly high, but given what appeared to be good reviews I assumed they would do right by me.

The repairman was onsite for 2.5 hours to effect the repair (good quality, but also a simple repair). When I calculated the actual costs:

- Labor onsite (2.5 hours) = $330
- Trip charge: $0 (Was told at time of est. that they plan numerous repairs in the same area at once)
- Materials (Winsupply estimates, non contractor rate): $200
TOTAL: $530

Non-actual cost imbedded charges within estimate: $690** ($1220 - $530)

When I talked to the manager Cory (after a week of multiple emails/calls), the response I received was: 1) You accepted the estimate 2) That additional cost covers 'overhead' 3) No proration / refund will be provided.

So $690 of 'overhead' in a $1220 estimate was justifiable in their eyes. I had hoped for better, so buyer beware.

I had a drain pipe from my kitchen that broke into 2 pieces in my crawl space. Rory from River Valley replaced the line that broke and he replaced the drain pipes under the kitchen sink so that the system functioned better than it has in 20+ years! All of this at an affordable price too! I will have River Valley replace the remaining drain system in my home soon. Thank-You Rory for getting us up and running again!

This is an update to my previous review because I had River Valley Plumbing replace the remaining drain pipes in my home in addition to the one that was an emergency replacement. Rory, Dominick and Taylor from River Valley Plumbing completed the work on this occasion. They were punctual, professional and completed the replacement of the remaining drain pipes in my home in less than 8 hours. The quality of the work would be what I would rate as excellent. This is the second project that I hired River Valley Plumbing for and once again, they didn’t disappoint! They truly care about their customers and want them to be happy with the quality of the work. I genuinely appreciate the hard work that was put into this project. Thank-You again for the excellent service!

Josh and Tyler were very efficient, knowledgeable and personable. They were able to answer questions about their work and my hot water system. The price was a welcome, reasonable cost and matched the original estimate. I will use River Valley for additional work without hesitation.

This is a new review {June 25, 2025} for the work Greg did on toilet installations. He was careful bringing supplies into and out of the house. There was no mess for me to clean up. The new toilets did not have excess wax around the bottom. Greg was friendly, on time and shared tips for toilet bowl cleaning and maintenance. And as always, the office staff were easy to work with on products and scheduling.

Wonderful people! Service was exceptional from office staff to repair man. Fair prices to boot! Will always use this company for any and all plumbing issues!!

Called today (Saturday early AM) and got their on-call weekend tech Mike. He was super helpful and helped with our leak like a pro. Could not have found a more responsive, friendly plumber after hours.
Will recommend and use in the future!

In 2023 my Rinnai gas tank-less water heater developed a small water leak in the heat exchanger. I contacted Rinnai and they said since the unit was past the one year warranty they would not cover the repair but that the heat exchanger was warrantied for five years. They said I needed to contact a Rinnai authorized plumber in the area to do the installation.

One of the plumbers on the list was River Valley Pumbing and Heating. I explained the issue and they scheduled a technician to come out to do the replacement. I was informed that because I was in Cotopaxi there would be a $150 travel charge for the call and I would be billed portal to portal.

I scheduled the service and the technician arrived that morning around 10 AM. He began disassembling the water heater and replaced the heat exchanger. The repair was accomplished and even though the parts were at no charge the labor was over $600 with the travel time. At the time my only issue was that the technician left the display programmed in Celsius instead of Fahrenheit. I also had an error code displayed but after a phone call I was able to clear the error and correct the temperature display.

Late last year the water heater failed and displayed an error code for high temperature. I called River Valley and they said they would send someone out but their travel charge was now over $200. I felt this was excessive so I found a licensed plumber closer to me who worked on tank-less water heaters. His travel charge was considerably less.

He arrived and descaled the unit as we had discussed. That didn't fix the issue so he had to troubleshoot the problem. After a while he determined that a high temperature sensor had failed. He ordered the replacement part from Rinnai and scheduled another trip after he received the part.

When he tried to remove the failed part he found the previous technician from River Valley had over-torqued the screws on the sensor so much he had stripped the heads trying to get them out. The technician had to make a separate trip to bring the right tools to remove the screws. I asked him to separate the extra work caused by the screws that had been improperly installed. He said the extra cost was $475.

I have made to attempts to contact River Valley to complain about the work they did in 2023 but have received no response. I know this is an unusual situation but I would expect some refund for the extra costs but at least apology from River Valley for the extra cost on the latest repair and time w/o hot water they caused.

Greg was professional and accommodating due to the difficult access to my plumbing needs. Couldn’t be more happy and satisfied with his service today!!!

It is hard to find a Review on River Valley that isn't 5 Stars. I finally called them to come out to my place in the mountains and had an excellent experience with the service visit. I can see why they have the ratings they have.

Corey was on time, fast, and efficient. He answered a ton of questions that I had about my old house plumbing, and was very helpful in giving me options on other issues that I wanted to address in the future beyond my original need to get better water flow in my upstairs shower. Turned out, it was a bad shower valve that had a big plug in it (that was an original manufacturer's defect). Finally got way better flow and now my family doesn't have to run around in the shower to get wet.

I wasn't aware that they also did HVAC services as well, to include new installs, replacement installs, and service calls on these systems. I now think I may go with these folks for any future needs I will have for my home furnace, as well.

Brendan did a great job and thoroughly explained what the problem was and what he was going to do to fix the issue. Everyone there is great Kudos to Amy, Mel, Corey and Chase too.

I could not recommend River Valley more. Chace came over at almost 10pm to fix our furnace that went out. He was incredibly professional, kind and caring, exactly what we needed when our heat went out on a snowy night with a 10 day old newborn and a two year old in the house. You all will be the first we call for all our plumbing and heating needs in the future and we will recommend you to all our friends and family. Thank you for being so great!

We are a totally satisfied customer. What could have become an extremely expensive tub/shower leak situation was expertly addressed by Greg, whose experience and willingness to overcome every obstacle saved us what would have been thousands of dollars to repair/replace the shower surround. Greg located the leaking cracked fitting, and with careful consideration opened the access areas around the valve and the spout enough to cut off the bolts holding the cracked fitting in place, and then fish out the fitting/PEX assembly from the spout area up and out through the valve area. He then replicated the fitting/PEX combination with new parts, and slipped the assembly back in through the valve area access down to and out the spout area access. (This does not accurately describe the complexity of the process, but needless to say Greg was a plumbing magician.) I would bet that 99% of the time plumbers would merely say you have to cut open the shower surround, but Greg was creative in solving the problem while keeping the visible areas of the surround in perfect condition. We are still counting our blessings that Greg was assigned to our job, and will always ask for Greg when a plumbing need arises!

Excellent service. Helped us out, we had an emergency and they saved us. Great service, great price. I could not be more pleased.

River Valley Plumbing and Heating is wonderful. My boiler went out this week and I was concerned with pipes freezing. The office staff were very re-assuring and told me they would get someone out to check my boiler. As luck would have it the boiler needed replacement parts. River Valley kept me appraised the entire time. I wish to thank the office staff for their understanding and kindness throughout the process. They are an inspiration to me and I want management to be made aware of how grateful I am. Between Amy, Mel, and Matt I am blessed to have you working at River Valley Plumbing and if I wore a hat I would tip if off ro each of you. But, I guarantee that I will call in the early fall to have a service inspection to save myself a lot of grief. Thank you, River Valley Plumbing, thank you.

River Valley was able to get a plumber out to us quickly in Wetmore, and Greg did an amazing job! He quickly diagnosed our 2 plumbing issues and the price was amazing. Will definitely call River Valley for any plumbing or HVAC needs!

River Valley has serviced our swamp cooler since we moved here 8 yrs ago — great folks, always reliable. Had to have a leak in our crawl space fixed first this year and they had it taken care of within 4 hours of the call! Greg even worked around a bit of standing water, greatly helping address the problem quickly. None better!

We have had River Valley do work several times and have been very happy the them. Today Mike was here to re-plum our drain pipes. He was here all day and did wonderful job. The price was more than fair and the service is excellent.

Josh was the on call plumber when I called Friday evening at 7:00 pm. I had a leaky pipe under my house and had to shut off the water. Josh came the following day at the time he said he would.
