I've used Karsten previously at my home but recently needed someone to install a 20amp dedicated circuit at a neighbor's where I've been helping with a project.

Shawn came out for a site visit, explained everything professionally and demonstrated a clear wealth of expertise about everything we needed to consider about a project of our size. What I appreciate most was Shawn broke down the reality of the cost of the project versus the age of the home, and challenged us to honestly consider whether we wanted to invest this much into the house (is this our forever home?). I appreciate that his candor came at the risk of not closing a deal, and that he clearly cared that the job would be in our best interests, not Karsten's. Ultimately, we decided to sell the house and move, and not ask Karsten to do the electrical upgrade, but Shawn's honesty and integrity definitely earns my recommendation, and will earn my future business where ever my family ends up next.

Karsten has don a lot of work for me and I have always been pleased. Their prices are reasonable and their work is excellent. They stand behind their work. After they interconnected my smoke alarm system I had a mysterious chirping at night. They came out 5 times to troubleshoot. As it turns out, it was a separate carbon monoxide detector hidden behind a blanket. Jake was good-humored, kind, and professional.

Our breaker broke, shutting off our fridge. Shawn was out within 15 minutes. Not only fixed it, but helped walk through the steps of what he was doing so we could try it ourselves next time. He also offered a ton of free advice on details completely separate from the call out. We will definitely use Karsten again.

Shawn and the team at Karsten Electrical are amazing at what they do. They work on residential and commercial projects. They will only do work that is safe and up to code. They have worked on some of my client's projects and have always provide 5-star service. They can fix some of your DIY Projects, or re-wire an entire house to make it safe. Call them for any electrical needs.

We had a pretty significant job that needed to be taken care of in our older 60's home: updating the service panel, replacing the line mast, and running new circuits in the kitchen and living room. Karsten came in with a bid significantly lower than the other companies and the electrician who came to do the initial inspection seemed friendly and honest so we went with them.

The guys that came out to perform the work, Ethan and Tim, did a fantastic job with no complications and were pleasant and professional.

Shawn and his team are excellent. We get many power outages throughout the winter and gusty fall, some for extended periods of time (1-2 days). I don't have a generator that can handle the entire house yet but Shawn and his team put together a solution which keeps power outages civilized.

They put in a whole-house surge protector at my request to help protect my home from the bouncing power. They installed a plug which allows me to connect my generator to the entire home at a moment's notice. They installed an interlock system that doesn't allow the generator and utility power to hit the home at the same time and cause damage to the home.

Once the install was completed, they helped me determine what could be run at the same time. We can run all of our normal electrical needs such as TV, internet, the well pump (we have water during power outages now!) and induction cook top or microwave. If we need hot water, we need to turn off all non-essentials and let the water heater run until everybody takes a shower and then we can go back to entertainment mode.

Shawn and his team are extremely knowledgeable and helpful, even in unusual situations like mine.

Tim did a great job replacing some damaged wiring and installing our light fixture. He first tried install the fixture in the least expensive (but correct and safe) way, but discovered that the wires were badly damaged, and then that there was no spare length in the wires. He got to work and got it all fixed for us. He worked efficiently and was friendly and happy to explain everything to me. We will absolutely use Karsten again.

Due to the recent Xcel outages, my wife and I decided to install a generator connection to our house. I have worked with Karsten Electric before and called them to get an estimate. Shawn came over and reviewed the options with me and provided a quote. I had quite a few questions during the process, which Shawn answered to ensure that the generator connection would work and be safe. Chris did the work for us and it turned out very well. We did a load test with no issues. The permit process and inspection were well managed by Karsten. The price was very fair and the work was done very quickly. I highly recommend the Team at Karsten, they are patient and care about their customers and our community.
