We couldn't be happier with their work! We had 10 trees that needed varying degrees of help, 2 of these needed to be removed altogether. In 3 hours the work was done and mess cleaned up. Everyone we dealt with was friendly, professional, and responsive. Would highly recommend!

Nate came when we had a tree emergency and gave us peace of mind. A tree fell on our house and across our truck and driveway and Nate came that day to get us started to get out. He came back to finish the job and was so nice and professional. I will only use him and recommend him to everyone.

I got them to chip a bunch of branches for the neighborhood through the Boulder county chipping program. They did a fantastic job cleaning up the slash piles.

The first thing I noticed is that patience and honesty were qualities that really shined. As good arborists, they pointed out that responsible tree care is an investment, as well looked after trees are attractive and can add value to property, while poorly planned and maintained trees can be a significant liability. - all of this over the phone! I was provided with free advice and was not pressured into any treatment of my Willows - the first part of their plan was to wait and give my trees time; than we would take action. I consider that to show the highest level of business ethics; and that's not easy to come by these days.

For those of you like me who relies on Internet communication - they actually read their email and get back to you... quickly!

When I bought my home, there was a massive ash tree in the yard that was clearly dead. Branches began falling and it was a huge liability for my contractor’s workers. I called them and they rescheduled their jobs to fit me in as an emergency. Watching Justin climb this dangerous tree was amazing! They couldn’t get their crane in and had to climb to tear it down. Justin did it very safely and quickly. They are very good and professional. I highly recommend! Will be getting them to help with the stump removal and with other trees I’d like planted. We were referred to Cutting Edge Tree Care about 10 years ago for our residential tree care needs. Over the years, we've hired them for "Emergency storm damage" clean-up, tree care and maintenance, and custom pruning of our 100 year old mature trees. They are a "full-service" tree care company and it's obvious that they take pride in their craft. Their estimates are clear, pricing is fair and they get it done right. I recommend this locally owned company.

We had a 5-star experience with Kit, Charley, and the team at Cutting Edge Tree Care. We're new to Boulder and met with a few different tree care firms in the area. Cutting Edge did an awesome job at a very fair price - I never felt like I was getting upsold on fertilizer or other expensive treatments.

Since performing the work last month, Kit has been extremely generous with her time as we've tried to revive a pine tree that was damaged over the winter. She's called me after hours and talked me through a range of options for trying to save the tree - none of which involved paying her or Cutting Edge a dime.

I will definitely work with Cutting Edge the next time we need help with our trees.

The crew from CETC are exceptional. They are very knowledgeable about trees, shrubs, etc. They worked so hard at trimming my very large 20+ year old cottonwood due to dead branches. It looks great! Better than we ever thought it could. They also removed a HUGE dead aspen 6 feet from the side of the house. Watching how he cut the aspen down was amazing to watch. The huge amount of debris from each tree was cleaned up beautifully. Highly recommend this company.

There was a day when skilled workers performed quality work with honesty and integrity. The company was local, completed the work to exceed expectations, and maintained prompt and thorough communication throughout the process. For us, that day was last Thursday, when Cutting Edge arrived ahead of schedule to complete our job. We were impressed with the overall experience and happy with the results. Don't hesitate to contact them for your tree care needs. We highly recommend.

TL;DR- They're great. Start here!

We were impacted by the December 2025 wind storm just like so many folks in the Boulder area. In our case we had a gigantic cottonwood fall that took out an ash plus a third tree with the whole mess landing less than three feet from our roof line! Cutting Edge came out literally the day we called them, inspected the damage as well as every other tree on our property and got a quote to us that night. Kit found four other trees that were at serious risk of falling and showed us exactly what was wrong with each one so that we could understand them better. The other guys took longer to prepare their quote at nearly twice the price and gave us no insight into the scope of work so we went with Cutting Edge.

The crew showed up on Christmas Eve to do all of the felling, clean up and limb removal. Not only were they fast, the left it spotless. True professionals. Then came the stump grinding team a few days later who did such a good job, my wife literally cannot find where the trees were located.

We used Cutting Edge to prune our Silver Maple in our front yard. Let me start by saying my husband is in the landscaping industry although his company doesn't do tree pruning. But he knows plenty about it to be able to explain very clearly that the reason for our prune was roof clearance and weight management. We have branches that extend over our roof and some were touching the roof. That was explained in the initial phone call to schedule someone coming out.
I was told we didn't need to be home when they came to look at the tree. It just so happened we weren't, which was our mistake.
I returned Justin, their arborists, call and reiterated our desire to have the large branches pruned up and away from the roof and he said they would send an estimate. In the estimate, they mentioned Crown Thinning, which nobody else we had gotten estimates from mentioned. It's essentially focusing on weight management. They also mentioned the branches over the roof.
Based on their detailed write up in the estimate, and the total cost, we decided to go with them.
The whole prune took maybe 2-3 hours and Justin let me know they were finishing up and to come take a look. My husband happened to get home around this time and the first thing he brought up were the large branches still over the roof. Justin said they pruned them up and away from the roof significantly and gave some excuses as to why they did it that way.
We were clearly unsatisfied with the job done, and he walked away to go call the owner. Then he left without saying anything else to us. We didn't know if the owner would be reaching out, or what to expect. Branches were also left on our roof and in our yard.
4 days later I received the invoice in my email with an added note on it saying "We can only prune back 30% live tissue every 12 months. By the time we got this message, it was too late for 2026 to prune more back off this tree."
There is absolutely nothing on their website to suggest this, and nobody told us that's the way they do things. It seemed very dismissive. We will now have to go through another company to get the large branches pruned back for the safety of our roof.
It doesn't seem like this company cares too much about customer service. It feels like they rush their way through each job to go on to the next one.
