So I contracted SJ Ward Late last fall to do a ~$12500 landscaping work including setting up drip lines and adding or relocating sprinklers. I had bought most of the plants from the tree farm and had them planted as well had SJ ward planted the rest of the plants per the landscape plan drawn by a paid 3rd party. The sprinkler and drip line did not work well, resulted in poor health of some of the plants and part of the lawn. They planted 5 annabelle hydrangea planted and only one is doing well and blossoming. 3 winter gem boxwood all turning yellow. Missing: 3 Goldsturm black eyes Susan on the north side of the back yard and 1 crystal speedwell in the front yard.
The 1 year warranty is a joke, since no one contacted me after I emailed and spoke on the phone with Travis, the original sales guy in late June. I would stay away if you are counting on good outcome of thriving plant and professional sprinkler work.
Do not believe in the owner’s response. I can show you my phone log and there weren’t any missing calls from SJ ward landscaping. It is easier to blame the customer, isn’t it. Thoroughly disappointed at their dishonesty.

We wanted to resurface our existing Trex deck and add a pergola. I had drawn up a design and SJ Ward came back with a cost to build our design. One contractor no bid and another came back with an alternate design. Despite some scheduling issues, SJ Ward committed to completing the project this year. We ended up with the deck/pergola that we envisioned and it is beautiful. Kudos to Ivan and his crew for the hard work and for listening to my comments and following my wishes.

SJ put in French drainage and did an overhaul of landscaping on my backyard summer of 23. There were a few things I pointed out as needing to have some adjustments on after the job. Brian the GM was an awesome guy to work with and had someone out right away for final touch ups. I found Brian to be a cool and easy person to work with and thought the crew that performed the work did great: super hard workers. I plan to use SJ again for front yard as well as work at a rental I have. Thanks SJ

SJ Ward did an exceptional job on our landscaping. They planned it out and executed it to perfection. Highly recommend working with them.

Our house is new and had no landscaping in the small back yard. Steve came over and I told him my ideas and he said he would ask his designer to come up with a plan incorporating our wants. The plan he sent us bore little resemblance to what I envisioned - but it was better in every way. It included an elegant patio area and fire pit and stone bench and small sod yard surrounded by gravel and moss rock with various trees and bushes. The job was somewhat complicated and required patio stones and masonry construction for the bench, a gas line trenched along the side of the house along with a hard path, a sprinkler system, sod, and a good deal of leveling. Steve's crew worked steadily and the fire pit, masonry, gravel and hard path and moss rocks were completed in a couple of weeks. They worked around bad weather with aplomb: on one sunny day there must have been 10 workers at one time in our back yard. The vegetation and sod came several weeks later when it warmed up. (Don't know where Steve buys sod but it is amazing. Thick, lush, verdant, weed free. Wish the builder used it in the front yard. Never seen its like.) Louis headed up the crew, kept in constant touch and was a pleasure to work with. A few minor problems crept up that were fixed immediately. The original bid was a little over our budget and Steve worked with us to trim some cost. Steve erroneously quoted a higher quality patio stone at a lower price, then said he would absorb the added cost since it was his error. Overall, we are so glad we went with Ward's, they did a great job at a fair price, quickly, professionally and with integrity. Highly recommended.

We had SJ Ward refresh and re-landscape our entire backyard. While our property is on the smaller side, it wasn’t a small job. After a few hiccups with communication on our start date and final design plans, everything moved smoothly and professionally. Prices were competitive and actually lower than some of the other quotes we received.
Our crew was more than fantastic and turned our yard into something more beautiful than I could have ever imagined. Our foreman Nobor was excellent at communicating with us every morning and maintains a very friendly and professional crew. Our project manager Jaime also communicated great to ensure everything was satisfactory. We needed some help with a couple sprinkler lines after the job was finished, which isn’t unexpected after the kind of job we had done. The crew returned promptly and got things fixed up fast. We will definitely use SJ Ward again!

The team did an excellent job on our yard. They exceeded our expectations! The attention to detail was spot on. We really appreciated the team leader Javier! He was so hardworking and really listened to our ideas and implemented the project seamlessly. Javier had the experience to implement our project beautifully. We are so happy we hired this company.

SJ Ward did an outstanding job of redoing my front yard so it was entirely rock. Steve Ward came out to do the estimate and he was right on. The day of the project the work crew were outstanding! They finished the job in one day and everything looked awesome! I highly recommend SJ Ward for any work you need to have done! Thank You to all involved!

We had SJ Ward complete our landscape project while installing an in-ground pool. They did a great job! We were happy with the process from start to finish. Their employees are hard workers, were always prompt and cleaned up behind themselves. We are especially happy with our wood privacy panels and wood storage boxes. They look amazing and are exactly what I had in mind! Thanks for helping create my backyard of my dreams!

I would never hire them again. They use very poor quality materials, poor workmanship, they do not stand behind their work and demand payment to fix their mistakes. Get everything in writing if you use them. NOT recommended.

This company does not stand behind the work they performed from less than 1 year ago. Found a problem with the work and tried to reach them - called the business office, emailed the company, called the cell phone and then sent texts with pictures to Kyle with no response to any attempted communication.

Jordan was excellent to work with. He was fast and responded to all of my emails or calls very promptly. His crew was professional and did great work. Very happy with schwabees

This company deserves more recognition and appraisal for the high quality work this company does. Not only did they properly obtain permits and keep to code, they always get inspections dne through the city. There professional, on time, worth far more then we even paid. For the quality and professionalism provided they deserve double what we paid.

We have a north facing driveway that can be difficult after a heavy snowfall. Schwabees did a great job clearing the heavy snow out.
They are always reliable and easy to reach. Great company!
