Reviews of local pros in Avon, Connecticut

I was so pleased to find all the 5 star reviews are accurate! Julian is a pleasure to work with. He offers high quality work at a reasonable price. We will definitely use him again!

TL;DR: I frankly cannot say how much I appreciate finding Julian, aka, the Pipe Doctor! WOW! Hired, and would again! 5+ Stars! I have a 1949 Cape Cod with a full bath upstairs that had been renovated by the previous owner shortly before sale (i.e., 8 - 10 years ago). However, the shower hardware was still the old school three handle setup with Hot/Diverter/Cold handles. The cold handle had snapped off, and there was little stem left coming out of the tile wall, leaving me no other option than pliers to operate the cold water. I had out professionals in the past year and never received any feasible options that were less than a $5K+ new shower rebuild basically. This was via some of the larger well-known companies in the area. Fast forward to a few weeks ago, and I was turned on to HA, did a query for plumbing services in the Hartford area, and had three plumbers out to look at the problem, two of which provided quotes. Julian was the second pro to come out, and the only one to suggest doing the work via the plumbing access panel in the adjacent master bedroom. This was despite a cast iron vent pipe that was directly in the way of the area needing access, that seemed to be of great concern to the other two pros that looked at the job. Julian didn't balk, proposing a rather obvious cut-access-replace option for the said vent pipe. His confidence was all I needed to feel comfortable with doing so, and thus not going through the shower tile side with the additional mess, and challenge of finding suitable replacement tile. I got a chance to peek at his pipe work and it was beyond neat and highly-skilled. The end product was a new Delta one-handle system and replacement spout w/ built-in diverter. The renovation plate is stylish and compliments the rest of the new hardware while also covering any signs of what was there before. I couldn't be happier with the work and value for what I paid! I whole heartedly endorse Julian's work and would gladly hire him again for anything that is plumbing related. He is also clean cut, and extremely nice and professional. I never even thought twice about leaving my house while he was there alone doing the work. Five stars and a sixth if it was an option! Stop looking and hire this guy now!

Excellent Experience! Let me start by saying that I was pretty skeptical in hiring someone to come to replace my water heater since the previous week I had just paid a plumbing company to "fix" my water heater and obviously they did not! So, from the very start Julian was very pleasant to talk to and he talked me through all my options. I had also asked about a tankless water heater and he walked me through all the pro's and con's. He also did a follow up call to see if I had made any decisions and let me know his availability. He even offered to come at night to drain my tank that was leaking just to make sure I wouldn't have any unwanted damage to my home. I felt the personal follow-up and level of concern for me was HUGE since I was having a hard time getting other larger companies to call me back just for a quote. I also explained to him how the other company from last week charged me for something they didn't do which was to unclog my son's tub. He did this for me at no charge out of kindness. He also identified a problem after installing the water heater that I know was legitimate as I have brought this potential problem up to two separate plumbers one last week and one last year and they both blew off my concerns. I am happy to know that going forward I have someone I can really trust for all my plumbing needs. Also, I have never seen a plumbers truck so organized and neat, and as put together as Julian was. HIGHLY Recommend!! He is LOCAL, trust worthy, personable and reasonably priced and owns the business himself. I'm all for supporting small businesses and with this one is a Winner!

Have had this plumber come out a few times for different projects. Very happy with the quality of his work! He's our go-to plumber! He's very personable, cleans work areas, and ensures his customers are well informed and happy with the project outcome. Will definitely contact him for future work!

Can't say enough about Julian. Our water heater gave out. Julian removed the old water heater and installed the new in the same afternoon/evening. We will definitely use Pipe Doctor for our plumbing needs from here on out.

I called at 4:45pm right before a snowstorm and Julian came to the rescue 20 minutes later!!!!!!!! We had a pipe that busted in our basement due to the previous owner, or contractor she hired, hitting the copper pipe with a nail while nailing molding. Eventually it gave out...right before most businesses close and snow.

I cannot recommend him enough! He was completely upfront about emergency call out price and even gave me a ballpark via phone as far as what I could expect to fix copper pipe.

We will be using him for our future bathroom remodel plumbing next year.

Julian has fixed the shower in my son's room, he has further checked our water system, adjusted it so that we'll have a better water cleaning system. He is an expert, friendly and efficient. We recommend him!

Julian was punctual, professional. We recently purchased a home and Julian has been with us every step of the way as we remodel. I would highly recommend Julian. He is a true professional.

Highly recommend Julian, the Pipe Doctor. He is fast, communicative and honest. We have used him for several "emergency" repairs and one planned repair for a whole-house water filter. 10/10 would use again - no question.

Julian was punctual, professional in appearance and personable. He is very knowledgeable and thorough, leaving me with the confidence that the jobs he did were done properly. He was also very organized - from the layout in his van to the tool kits he carried. I was impressed with the work he did today.

I asked Julian to fix bath faucet problem. It's a really good work. No more leaking, and low temperature problem was solved too. Plus he is a nice guy,and give me quite a few good advice. I highly recommend him.

My husband and I are new to the are new to the area and I saw that "The Pipe Doctor" had 5 stars when I searched for a plumber. He definitely lived up to those 5 stars! Julian is honest, fair, and does excellent work. We will definitely be calling him again for other projects!

Julian from Pipe Doctor was fantastic! He came to our house to extend the gas line to the kitchen for the gas stove. He is very knowledgeable and explained things as he went, answering all of our questions. High quality work in a timely manner and an affordable price. I'd highly recommend Pipe Doctor!

Julian was beyond professional. Listened to my concerns and provided a remedy that created exact results that I was hoping for!
Water heater, pressure tank, valve replacement was installed with perfection. He also repaired toilets and installed missing drain trap.

Very happy with the service and he is in my speed dial as a plumber contact!

Did an amazing job and is 💯 professional, friendly, knowledgeable, and fairly priced. And, after he left, in addition to the leaky pipe fixed, we noticed that decades of noisy basement pipes had been silenced. What?! Yup. Thorough.

Julian, the Pipe Doctor, does great work! He's professional, friendly, reasonably priced and does very clean work. We've used him for a variety of services from installing a utility tub, water filtration systems and installing new faucets in our kitchen, bathroom and outside. We won't use any other plumber and neither should you!

No one wants to have to call the plumber, but if you do, Julian at Pipe Doctor is the best there is. He is prompt, his work is of the highest quality, and he will advise you on plumbing issues that are ancillary to what you brought him in for. He is full of useful information, he is honest and fair, and a pleasure to work with. Unconditional five star rating!!

I would highly recommend Julian for any of your plumbing services! We did an entire home renovation in which Julian not only completed all of the major plumbing for our remodeled bathroom, but provided suggestions as to where it made the most sense for our new shower, sinks and toilet to go in order to save money. He continued to install our water heater and has helped to fix both major and minor plumbing issues since our remodel. In an industry where it is hard to get contractors to commit and show up on time, Julian was always reliable, returning phone calls and completing jobs when he said he would and in a timely manner. I've recommended him to a number of people, who are also 100% satisfied!

Found myself without water which is never good. Called Pipe Doctor after hours, first thing next morning Julian returned my call and we scheduled an appointment the next day. He arrived at my house promptly as promised, discussed all the different options clearly and we settled on a plan. He was able to make the repairs the same day and things are back up and running. Julian was friendly, knowledgeable and polite with an eye for doing the job right. I would highly recommend him and his work.

Julian provided outstanding service to resolve a pluming issue in my older home. His knowledge, communication, responsiveness, and abilities are exceptional. Highly recommend Julian (The Pipe Doctor) for all plumbing related repairs & renovations.

I called to ask for an estimate for plumbing work for a residential renovation project. I am a Consulting Engineer with over 50 years experience designing and specifying, among other things plumbing work. I prepared a detailed written Scope of Work that I told him I could email to him. Julian told me he couldn't price a job without seeing it. There's really nothing to see. It's a house. I tried to set up a time for him to come out. He then told me I would have to pay him to come out to see the house. In over fifty years I have not until today heard of paying for an estimate so that potentially I could pay a contractor thousands of dollars for a project. Unbelievable! I would stay clear of the Doctor.
