HVAC reviews in Windsor, Connecticut

Scheduling people had some challenges. But the technicians are always knowledgeable and fantastic. The latest one fixed my burner within 15 minutes. He was very friendly and professional and extremely efficient. I highly recommend them!

The technician was great. He completed the work quickly and left the area clean. My issue is with your “membership”. I was sold the membership and told that it would cover the first year of maintenance on my HVAC system which I bought in 2024. Somehow the $129 “membership” only covered the AC unit and not the furnace. I was told that when I bought the “membership” HARP sold the “membership” for each unit separately. They have since figured out that a “membership” should not be based on an individual unit in an HVAC system.
I STRONGLY urge you not to fall for the scam of the “membership”. The “benefits” do not pay for the cost of the “membership” unless you have an older system that needs regular work. -
Sebastian was incredibly thorough and precise with our combi boiler. He diagnosed the issue—a defective circulator pump—in just five minutes, something two previous technicians had spent hours trying to figure out without success. He replaced the pump, documented everything meticulously, and answered all my questions in a clear and approachable way. Now everything’s running smoothly, and I’m extremely happy with his service. Highly recommend him to anyone with HVAC needs!

This company is a scam - DO NOT USE. This was the second time we contacted Harp. The first was this summer because our AC broke. We completely fell for their playbook this summer. They look at the unit, tell you it's too hard to get the part, or it's too old or the part will take days. Then they tell you they have someone available to give you a quote for a new unit on the same day and can install faster than they can fix. Then they call over and over again with exciting news about discounts if you act immediately. My favorite is "we just got a cancelation and can install tomorrow!" We noticed the pattern when they came out yesterday for a furnace issue. Sure enough, we need a whole new furnace, same playbook. This time, we didn't fall for it. We had someone else come out. They fixed a valve and our furnace was fine and working within several hours. I just wanted to warn others. I wouldn't even give them one star but I had to, to create this warning.
I'm unable to reply to the owner's response about contacting them. You've lost me as a customer forever so no need to speak. Consider discontinuing your scam and actually providing a service to future consumers. -
Matt and Josh went above and beyond. They returned same day to ensure my issues were resolved!!! They were Courteous and Conscientious of the work area. They performed Professionally and Thorough!!
HARP hasn’t disappointed in the 9 years of Service
Thank You 😊

I cannot stress enough our disappointment with Harps work and service. Our AC failed and we need an entirely new system. They recommended a system that they have a contract with and said it would provide sufficient cooling for our duplex. Unfortunately they didn’t have the correct condenser and decided to install one with a larger capacity (more BTUs) for no additional charge. Well, after one months the entire system failed and needed to be replaced, this time with the correct unit and lower BTUs. During the instillation it was clear they were having problems. Apparently the unit did not fit properly on the air handler, in part due to the ceiling night. It took them over 3 hours to install the new compressor and after seeing their work I know why, they created a Frankenstein monster. Every seal, crack, connection and seam is covered with HVAC tape. The entire system was installed sideways and needed to be modified to fit. Instead of getting a system (similar to what was there) they decided to go with the one that pays them more. When we put the AC on in the summer, my basement is freezing, and it’s not a finished space. We need to turn the thermostat down to 55 degrees just to get the house cool because so much cold air is leaking into the basement. My basement is 20 degrees cooler than my entire house and it’s costing me a fortune to keep it running 24 hrs in the summer. This was such an unprofessional and half sas job that I need to write this review and warn you against using HARP. Last year we had a minor issue with our heating element and decided to call the company the original home owner suggested. We never said a word about the new AC, but when he came up from the basement he could not believe someone would have the audacity to put there name on that work, he was appalled. Anyway, I rarely if ever complain about other people or companies, I’ll just go somewhere else. However, I cannot allow this fiasco to go unreported and need to warn you of HARPS, pathetic and unprofessional standards. P.S. the workers were terrific, polite and respectful… their work product and company quality is embarrassing. Thanks for listening.

I strongly suspected that another service person had messed with temp on hot water heater. Harp’s “Feliciano,” told me it was not at highest temp. He was so knowledgeable about other types of hot water heaters, mini splits and furnaces.
He was very honest stating that my hot water heater had a lot of life left. Because of this I decided to get a quote from HARP for other plumbing and generator work I would like to do. This TEAM was pure pleasure, very positive, very honest and respectful of my (Under renovation) house.
They have experienced technicians for many parts of your home. You should not hesitate to call HARP! They are very respectful of females and made me feel safe! -
Extremely professional right from the start. The phone call, the confirmation text. The text with location data when they would be driving in my driveway. Which was awesome!! The 2 guys Clay and his partner did a great job checking everything out and gave me peace of mind….. yes I will have them do my regular maintenance on furnace and would definelty call this company again…. Thank you….

Gabriel along with Courtney are awesome. They came and diagnosed the issue right away.
They both are highly trained technicians and saved me a ton of money before the holiday's. I would recommend both Gabriel and Courtney highly. They are angels.
You can tell that they know what they're doing and take time to really diagnose the problem 1st, then if there is other avenues then they will go that route.
My top technicians Gabriel and Courtney, they didn't come in and rush anything, they took their time and payed attention and they were very detailed with giving me information. Their knowledge of work is very trustworthy and superb.
Thank you again my angels (Gabriel &Courtney) -
Harp service arrived within the expected window on the earlier side. Leonard Williams Was the technician and extremely courteous and friendly. He was super knowledgeable about oil boilers and did a fantastic job. If I ever have another issue I would request him by name for sure. Thanks for your honesty and assistance!

Note: I gave three stars to HARP the company, not the crew!!
We used HARP for replacing our old HVAC system with a new one. We had invited quotes from three companies. Decided to go with Daikin system that HARP offered. After reading multiple reviews online, Daikin seemed to be a good choice. Tad expensive though when compared to other systems. However, it is not an apples to apples comparison.
The crew was very nice, polite and focused on the job. Unfortunately, the chief technician who was responsible for installing the coil and the furnace wasn’t experienced in installing this system. It seems to be a bit complicated compared to the rest.
They spent nearly 12 hrs but couldn’t get the system to work! On the second day, the chief technician was alone. Meanwhile they had figured out that the coil the crew had been given the first day was wrong one and one of the thermostats was defective.
The tech spent entire day 2 dismantling and installing the “right” coil but couldn’t get the system to work properly. He tried reaching out to the tech support but initially they took two hrs to get back to him. Meanwhile he was getting different things. But the system was still not fully installed. However, he managed to provide AC by evening. I complained to HARP. We had to wait for one more week for a new tech to take a shot at it. He was experienced with installing this particular system. It took him couple hrs to sort things out and complete the job!
In short, we had great crew on both occasions. I blame the company for not sending the right technician the first time around!!
One disappointing thing was that the (overflow) pan that was installed under the unit had become dirty and filled with all kind of debris. Nether crew cleaned it before leaving.
So, overall not a great experience! But, great crew !! -
I had an absolutely fantastic installation and wonderful experience with Harp Home Services. Their installers are incredible professionals. They understand the equipment and understand every nuance of operation. They explained things during the day as they were installing my new HVAC system. I also have to say they were incredibly respectful of my home and absolutely neat and clean at every turn. When they left my home, there was no trace that they had been here except a beautiful new HVAC system. There is also a great feeling of confidence with this company in that I know if I have any issues with my equipment in the future, they will stand behind at 100%. I’ve been with them for about 20 years now and two homes. They have always been wonderful.

HARP installed a Mitsubishi multi-zone system for me four years ago (four indoor heads and an outdoor condenser, connected through a PAC-MKA52BC branch box mounted in my garage). The installation was done poorly, and many problems resulted which the HARP service people repaired over time. The last remaining problem from the installation is that the branch box was not installed correctly, and as a result, it produces more than a gallon of condensation per day in hot humid weather — I have to keep a 5-gallon bucket under it and empty it several times a week to prevent flooding and additional mold. The mold grew because the problem was not detected immediately, and the sheetrock was soaked.
Mitsubishi’s own installation manual requires complete insulation of all refrigerant lines and a drain line for indoor installations. As you can see from the attached picture, those steps were skipped. I’ve called HARP four separate times about this issue. The first visit was scheduled, then cancelled. Each later call ended with the same promise that “the Installation Department Manager will call you back.” I have not received that call back, and after several attempts, I don't expect that I will.
There should not even be an issue here. The device is clearly installed improperly and Mitsubishi agrees. There is no question about it. HARP should own up to this problem, and promptly make the required repairs. Refusing to respond to a customer is not a solution. -
We had a great experience qworking with HARP FAM SERV. On the prior Sat our old oil furnace decided no heat anymore. We contacted HARP and a very freindly and knowledgable staff member came out and reviewed our situation, did an extensive inspection of our furnace and came to the conclusion that our old unit was not repairable. Considering the fact that the unit was 31 years old there was no surprise. We got an appointment for replacement 3 days later. We were more than pleased considering how busy these trade crews are as they are constantly responding to emergencies like ours. The office staff was very well versed on scheduling. Reminder calls and digital reminders were always present. Its obvcious that this company has figured out customer service. On the service call day the techs were on time. All were very freindly and professional in appearance. There were plenty of staff present to get a large project done and in one day. Excellent workmanship and went over the finished job with what's new and any items they did to improve the result for a great job. Porbably the best warranty in the industry.
On the service day we had a very rainy and windy weather day. Our location is very rural and surrounded by trees. At some point in the day we had a very strong gust of wind and as a result we ended up with a tree and broken branches strewn across our driveway. The result, NO WAYOUT. After the install job was finished one of the techs offered to help. He4 manned the chain saw and my wife and I worked on cleaning up small debrit and vines. Without his help they could not get out of the driveway with the large truck they use.
Overall, we could not be happier and will continue to use their services. They do much more than just HVAC. To my surprise and relief, they cover the entire State of CT. By the way we are in Norwich and they are located in Windsor. Give them a call, you'll be glad you did.

Staff and technician were great. Very professional, easy to work with, and reassuring but the pricing was outrageous. I had an expansion tank replaced which can be purchased for $75 and the job ended up costing $926. If it wasn't going to be 1degree and -1 the next 2 nights and talk of another potential large winter storm I would not have used.

I am extremely happy with Mark and Matt. They were polite and informative. They got right down to it. They fixed my issues very quickly. They were right on time and even introduced themselves. I'm extremely happy with Harp Home Services. They went above and beyond.

I needed to get a new fixture installed for my washing machine. The technician Matt did a great job! He quickly diagnosed the problem, left to get the supplies he needed, returned and had the new fixture installed in no more than an hour. He also provided me some good plumbing 101 tips! Very satisfied and highly recommend.

Our technicians that come out when we have issues are helpful. Brandon came today and did a wonderful job addressing our issues and going above and beyond. He was kind, very pleasant to deal with and knowledgeable.

The technician did an excellent job working on my furnace. He was professional, knowledgeable, and explained everything clearly. My furnace is running perfectly now. I truly appreciate the great service! Leonard William

I had an emergency no heat. They where awesome to get me on the schedule the next morning event though I have was not an established customer. The service Courney and his apprentice (I think) was awesome. While as with any company, the price was significant, but I got a lot for the price. Many companies would have charged more with less service. From my first call to the service Courtney provide, they were awesome. I added them to my contacts since they appear to be a one stop shop of many home services.

Marco was very efficient checked my furnace for any other problems we were not able to do the repair needed right now. The company has great customer service attitude sending appointment reminders, technician tracking, phone call to assure me he was 15 minutes away and he called to tell me he was arriving 5 stars all around. Would use their services again if needed.
