We have a fire alarm system that needed to be tested and certified so we found Majestic Fire. We spoke with Karina and she was able to have a technician come out the next day for the service. She was very helpful and professional in answering our questions. The technician was friendly and took care of the work pretty fast. Overall the staff was very helpful. I will definitely be using them for future service again.

Honestly the techs are amazing but when it comes to there higher ups, who I believe dispatches them are very horrible at doing business. They don't really communicate very well or give any updates. They also walked a job we needed done and quoted us $13,000 when another company came and walked us on what we really needed done and charged us $1,200. After that we needed to get our fire extinguisher checked so we called them and they sent out a great tech but when it was time for us to get them we never got word it took them almost 4 months for us to get word from them and to get some of them back. We had no updates on when or where they were until the tech Gilbert sincerely apologized on behalf of his superior who couldn't even email us or call to explain. After that a separate incident we had our system go off, so I called at 6am and didn't get a tech until 12 and of course with no update of when then tech was called or heading towards us. And yes we are highly considering changing company's.

Carlos and Mike were great! They were the first ones to contact us when we searched for tree removal on Angi. They came to the house, and gave us a fair quote on removing a large dead bougainvillea and surrounding random plants and weeds…
They replaced the bougainvillea and put in some new plants as well as some serious work refurbishing the planter. They were kind and considerate to our needs. Carlos told us we could always call him for any questions or further needs. We definitely will!
Our thanks to them for a wonderful job.

We tried to hire this company but the quote they originally gave us was increased by 4 times as much when the original onsite person turned us over to their management. As a result of trying to price gauge us, we told them we weren't going to use their services and would instead be hiring another local company Bay Alarm who's pricing was more comparable to the original quote we were given by Majestic when they first offered their services to us. A few months later, we received an email from Majestic saying we owed them $200+ for monitoring services. We tried to explain to them that we never signed up for their service because of them trying to upcharge us so we would not agree to pay, but they insisted we owed them this money and threatened to send us to collections which they later did. I would not recommend using this company for these reasons.

The level of service provided by Alberto Jimenez and KORD Fire Protection was commensurate with what you'd expect when entrusting your family's safety to a professional - nothing short of excellence. During our semi-annual pre-action system inspection, Alberto demonstrated exceptional professionalism and technical expertise. His communication was clear and thorough throughout the process, taking time to explain each aspect of the inspection while maintaining remarkable efficiency.

Alberto's attention to detail and methodical approach to the inspection gave us complete confidence in our fire protection system's operational readiness. His professionalism and courteous demeanor made what could have been a routine inspection feel like a genuine commitment to our facility's safety.

KORD Fire Protection has clearly set a high standard in the industry, and Alberto Jimenez personifies their commitment to excellence. Highly recommended for any business seeking reliable fire protection services.

Would not recommend. Please take your hard earned money elsewhere. We had Majestic Fire check and service our fire extinguishers/ replace the old ones. They said everything was good. However, we had a small fire shortly after and the fire extinguisher did not work causing the fire to grow larger than what it should have. They clearly did not service them properly and are refusing to handle the situation. Please do not rely on them. Fire safety is important.Luckily no one was hurt during our fire.

I recently had the pleasure of working with Kord Fire on a clean agent fire suppression system installation for my business. From start to finish, their service was exceptional.
The Kord Fire team was professional, knowledgeable, and efficient. They clearly explained the entire process, answered all my questions, and worked diligently to ensure the system was installed correctly. The technicians were meticulous in their work, and it was evident they took pride in their craft.

The new system is working flawlessly and provides me with peace of mind knowing my bussiness is protected. Though pricey, you get what you pay for. I would highly recommend Kord Fire to anyone in need of fire suppression services.
Thank you, Kord Fire, for a job well done!

Dangerous pickup truck driver, unsure which branch they were hired with but they were driving in a hurry with no regard for safety in a 35 mph (seeing them go at least 50+ mph, one of the Chevorlet Silverado Pickup Trucks with white & visible compa y markings/decal).

One of the better fire protection companies. Don't know what the guy below is on about. Maybe their team should be better at communication? Idk.

Kord for us was great. Maybe because I was a new customer or whatever. Worked with many fire protection companies, and they pale in comparison.

I’m leaving this review as the Director of Operations for a licensed residential treatment facility in Malibu. We hired Kord Fire because fire alarm monitoring seemed to be a great addition to a business like ours. It is life-safety. Unfortunately, this has turned into a years-long mess.

I started here in September 2022 and the system was already not working before I arrived. Since I’ve been here, the fire alarm panel has never been able to remain on consistently without going into error and making extremely loud beeping noises. It has been unusable like this for years. The best we ever got was one time when it worked for about three hours, and then it went right back to errors.

I have had someone come out at least three times since September 2022. Every time, they leave without the system working properly, and we are followed by an insane invoice. The most frustrating example was a technician coming out for what the office later called a “free” troubleshooting visit, but he could not actually complete the work because he did not bring the computer or equipment needed to program the system. We then spent that day checking every single fire alarm device and discovered one was logged into their system that did not exist. The technician stated he needed to come back to finish fixing it because he did not have the right equipment (his computer) with him. When I called their office to schedule the return visit so the work could actually be completed, I was told that if he came back out again we would have to pay. We went back and forth, had to escalate to management, and only after time passed did they eventually agree he could return “for free,” while the system still was not functioning correctly.

On top of that, invoices continued while the system was inoperable. I responded to repeated invoices requesting cancellation of services and did not receive a response from Kord. When they finally did respond about cancelling, they used pressure tactics stating it was a requirement for our license to have monitored fire alarm service, even though that is not accurate for our situation. They demanded written cancellation, and then followed up with what looked like an AI-generated contract specifically referencing a “residential drug and alcohol treatment facility,” which felt like another attempt to force liability language instead of solving the actual problem.

They are now claiming we owe $6,416.75 despite the monitoring and system never working consistently for years. That number makes no sense given what was actually delivered.

For a life-safety vendor, this level of disorganization, repeated unresolved issues, and billing behavior is unacceptable. If you choose to work with them, document everything, confirm in advance that the technician will arrive with the equipment needed to actually program the panel, and do not assume monitoring is active until you independently verify it.

We hired Gus and A-One Construction/Remodeling 18 month ago to remodel our small bathroom and to repipe our home. After 3 months, Gus abruptly, and without warning, abandoned the remodeling, leaving us with an unfinished bathroom, a shower that didn’t work properly, and plumbing that did not meet state codes. Improper preparation of the walls and ceiling led to massive paint peeling, and our wood deck was damaged when the vanity was moved across it without covering. The shower drain wasn’t correctly vented; the bathroom exhaust fan wasn’t vented to the outside; the drain and water lines under the house weren’t properly assembled, graded, or secured; all of the old galvanized pipe and iron fixtures was not replaced by copper, as per the repiping agreement; and even simple window latches were not properly installed. Four large holes were made in our interior and exterior walls to repair the plumbing. Two months after his abandonment, we received a surprise invoice from Gus which contained several questionable expenses followed by a threat of a mechanics lien from his lawyer. We have won claims through his bond company and CSLB arbitration, which we used to hire new contractors to re-finish the bathroom and to repair the plumbing. During arbitration, Gus asked for reimbursement for the repair of damage he had caused to our home security system that he falsely claimed, under oath, he originally paid for; and he also falsely claimed that his employee performed work that was actually done by our new contractor. (Both of these claims were rejected by the CSLB mediator.) Finally, Gus never paid the money that was awarded to us in binding arbitration. We had to file a second claim for the award amount which his bond company later paid. For several weeks in November and December, 2018, the CSLB posted on their website that Gus’ license had been suspended, “For failure to comply with a bond payout.” We were very disappointed by the extremely negative experience that we had working with Gus both during and after the remodeling. This has been a very stressful and aggravating experience for us and we would definitely not recommend this contractor for any remodeling project.

Catching up on this long past due review. The Safer Sidewalks team did our curb repair of about 50 feet in May 2025. They did good work. They helped us work through several options to get to the right solution within our budget. There were a couple of things on the curb finish that weren’t initially to our liking and without any fuss they reviewed agreed and fixed it. Nearly a year later the curb looks fantastic, and I expect it will remain that way for a long time. We are anticipating having to repair some sidewalk space due to tree roots, Safer Sidewalks will definitely be our number one. Call to do the work. Alonso and Austin were highly communicative. If not a bit overextended but manage that as they needed to get the work done. I recommend them.

Had my sidewalk repaired by this company and used my rebate from the city of LA. I couldn’t be happier.

Alonso did an excellent job of sidewalk repair and tree pruning. I'm very happy with his work.

I can't say enough about what a great job Alfonso did for us. He is very professional . He and his crew were fast and reliable. I will definitely use Alfonso in the future.

Facing the relentless destruction caused by city trees, my sidewalk became a hazardous
mess with erosion and large tree roots wreaking havoc, to every other sidewalk in Los
Angeles. I live in Silver Lake. Desperate for a solution, I discovered Safer-Sidewalks on
google. I was waiting for a long time for the sidewalk rebate program, but I got tired of
waiting. Someone can easily break their ankle on my sidewalk.
Thanks to them, I no longer fear for my safety while walking on my once perilous
sidewalk. I also don’t fear that someone else might trip and fall and want to sue me.

Owner, Alonzo, explained well. His worker, Eddie did a fine job remediating the trip hazard and was courteous as well. I'm pleased with the result.

So, a few years back, my neighbor thought it would be a good idea to try to fix his cracked
sidewalk with some asphalt. Nope. The city got all over him for it. Now, with this city rebate
program, it’s game changer. I called Safer Sidewalks and they handled the whole thing – from
getting the rebate to fixing my sidewalk. My neighbor should have waited.

My experience with the contractors was very good, Alonso was very polite and professional, if I texted him he would respond right away, he and his team repaired my sidewalk curb and I'm pleased with the work that was done.
