This rebate program is changing my neighborhood. The sidewalks in my North Hollywood
neighborhood have been falling apart for years, making the street look disheveled and
neglected. The tree roots are destroying our sidewalks. But my neighbors have been on top of
that city rebate program, fixing up their sidewalks left and right. So, I gave Safer Sidewalks a
call and that is a one-stop shop. They went through all the paperwork for me and now I am
waiting for the rebate to arrive. If this takes any longer I’m just going to have to pay for it out of
my own money..lol -
I was so excited when I found out about the city’s sidewalk repair rebate program, but the bureaucratic red tape was overwhelming. I called other companies, but no one was willing to help me out with getting the rebate. Alonso and his amazing team not only helped me through the process to get the rebate, but did a great job on my new handicap concrete ramp.

Walking down my street’s sidewalk used to be a perilous journey for me. Cracks, uneven surfaces, tree roots lifting the sidewalk, and protruding edges turned a simple stroll into a hazard. I went on google and found this company named Safer-Sidewalks. That's when I discovered Safer-sidewalks, a company specializing in sidewalk repair across Los Angeles County.
I think this company is a concrete contractor for the City of Los Angeles. Anyways, they signed me up to get my sidewalk fixed with the city. I live in Granada Hills, which is part of the City of Los Angeles. I was signed up to get a rebate for upto $10,000 to repair my sidewalk curb, and apron/approach. This process took a long time. I think I waited about a year and two months.
Safer-sidewalks didn't just repair concrete; they restored my peace of mind and restored my faith in walking freely. -
For those seeking sidewalk repair services, the value for money offered by this company is exceptional. Their competitive pricing, coupled with high-quality workmanship, ensures that every penny spent is worth it. With safer sidewalks and peace of mind, investing in their services is truly a wise decision. The sidewalk rebate program is great for fixing ada concrete ramps, curbs and gutter flows, and sidewalks. This sidewalk repair rebate took a long time to get. I believe it took me roughly 10 months to obtain. It was worth the wait because I didn’t have to pay anything.

Alonso gave a very reasonable estimate and followed through excellently. No cost overruns and passed final inspection—all I could ask for. As a plus he recommended some great sub contractors for another project going on at my house.
-
Alonso quoted a good price, showed up and did the work exactly as he quoted on my very cracked driveway, finished on time, and the driveway looks brand new! I’m very pleased with his work and his level of professionalism! Highly recommend him and his crew.

My business partner and I met with Alonso Romero from Safer Sidewalks. We both needed professional help with our sidewalk and professional help with a neighboring health and safety violations that were causing harm both our sidewalk and our entire property. This neighboring code violation problem we are suffering and the specific professional service Mr Romero promised us to resolve it is critical to our business. The scope of work promised by Mr Romero included both concrete work and the specific help expediting city agencies to compel our neighbor to comply with laws and make repairs. After completing the concrete scope of work Mr Romero promised my partner and I he would continue and finished whatever was needed to resolve the neighboring violations. We trusted him. He asked for payment in full upfront as his promised to continue and finish the most critical part of his scope. Unfortunately Mr Romero disappeared immediately after cashing his check and left the most important part of his promised work unfinished. He has abandoned his promised work and left us in a crisis. I strongly do not recommend this company.

Alonso and his team did a great job on our sidewalk repair and curb repair.
They showed up on time and finished as promised.
Alonso was very accommodating on any need that came up.
We highly recommend his company. -
This company is very professional and thorough. They came back for 4 days until until the sidewalk and driveway repairs were absolutely correct. My plantings on the parkway between the sidewalk and street took a real beating during the driveway repair, and Alonso assures me they will make that right.

I hired Alonso Romero from Safer-Sidewalks for some concrete work. I paid him in full for his services. Mr. Alonso made several promises as to what he would accomplish and excited me to a high expectation. I strongly feel his work was not even close what he led me to expect from him. Nor was it completed in the way he described and agreed. There was also very important additional work he promised to complete after he received payment. He did not complete that work and instead abandoned doing what he said he would do and what he agreed to do. I feel he breached our agreement and I feel he acted in bad faith. Clearly I would never hire Alonso Romero to do any work for me again.
As a point of interest. You will notice how quickly Alonso Romero will reply to my not so positive feedback. And immediately dismissing the truth. What is interesting is how fast he responded to my critique, yet he never responds to calls about his unfinished work. It is also factually untrue that he and his company were not paid in full while still owning critical unfinished promised and agreed to work. In fact when I presented payment in full, Alonso Romero personally walked me through his plan to complete the agreed upon unfinished scope of work and again promised it would get done. His statement below is false. Mr. Alonso, if you need more information as to who you have this conflict with I suggest you review your recent emails. -
Alonzo and his crew did an excellent job on repairing my sidewalk and curb. They broke up all the old sidewalk and removed all existing roots and debris and did this all in one day.
-
Nice fast clean Job at a good price.
My wife shopped the Job and we got a good price and a good job.
5 star review.
Sidewalk looks brand new. -
It was a pleasure working with this company. The sidewalk needed repair and they set up a day and completed the job promptly and professionally. The concrete work looks amazing. Pricing was reasonable. We didn’t need to get any other estimates

It was great working with Alonso Romero at Safer Sidewalks. We love the finished product and he helped guide us through the process with the city. Our sidewalk is now safe without trip hazards. We are truly grateful.

Dennis was extremely respectful and considerate. When I asked him if he needed help he said he could get it. He asked if I wanted him to move his car. Offered to help me with things. He explained his process to me along the way. He was very thorough and did a fantastic job!! I highly recommend this company.

If you want precision, responsiveness, and outstanding work for your sidewalk, parkway, curb, or driveway project, Alonso Romero and his team at Safer Sidewalks is the only contractor to call. He is licensed, insured, bonded, knowledgeable, and most importantly, EXTREMELY PROFESSIONAL and POLISHED. I hired Safer Sidewalks to repair a curb, parkway, and sidewalk that was destroyed by a prior unethical contractor. When I first called Safer Sidewalks, I was nervous. I have been in the residential rental rental and property management business for over seven years, and I have had my fair share of horror stories with deceptive, unresponsive, and unethical contractors. Having been jaded by such past experiences, I was not expecting to have such an exceptional experience that I ended up having. What a welcome surprise.
When I called Safer Sidewalks, it felt different. To my surprise, Alonso picked up my call on a weekend morning, when I called him extremely stressed out about the problem that I had with my sidewalk, parkway, and curb that was destroyed. He generously and graciously spent almost an hour on the phone explaining the process to fix my problem. Before the day was over, he sent me a follow up email with a detailed breakdown of the project. He answered more of my phone calls that I made to him for clarification, and that did it for me. Without hesitation, I immediately decided to hire him and met him a few days later to sign the contract to get the project started. He immediately got to work on getting the first city inspection scheduled for this permitted project.
Once the project was underway, I continued to be supremely impressed throughout multiple stages of the project. He immediately set up all requisite city inspections. Alonso regularly sent me updates either by email, text, or phone call. He answered my calls and texts. He sent photos and videos of the progress. He gave me a realistic timeline for the project, and he finished ahead of schedule. He did not do what most contractors do: add on surprise costs along the way because of "undiscovered" costs. The price he quoted me--the price on the contract--was what I paid.
One more note: Alonso has what most contractors do not have: extensive public works experience and regular contact with public works city inspectors and supervisors. He is fully licensed and well insured. He is bonded. He has an active Class B and Class C8 license from the California Contractors State License Board. Many contractors do not have the C8 license, which is a tough license to get for complex concrete work. So if you are shopping around, and you find a contractor that can "do it for less," you are not going to save any money. Most likely, that cheaper contractor will not do it right, and you will have to pay extra down the line to fix those mistakes. As I have learned through extensive experience, you pay for what you get. So if the price you are quoted by Safer Sidewalks is higher than other contractors, THERE IS A REASON. You pay for what you get. Pay it. You will pay for peace of mind and a job done right the first time.
Overall, my experience with Alonso Romero and his team at Safer Sidewalks was exceptional, outstanding, and beyond my expectations. From years of experience with numerous property projects in Los Angeles, Alonso Romero is the absolute best contractor that I have ever worked for. -
Alonso Romero from Safer Sidewalks installed twin 6' permitted curb drain pipes under the sidewalk in front of my house and poured a new sidewalk panel above the pipes (curbolet installation). Alonso worked with City of Los Angeles Bureau of Engineering inspectors to ensure all was proper and to code. The pipes are for safely charging electric vehicles on the street, and both Alonso (and BOE) were supportive of this unique request. He worked patiently with me through the design process and provided balanced guidance on the pros/cons of various options I had to choose. Alonso is C8 certified and knew both of my BOE inspectors from previous work, so his knowledge and experience certainly showed. Would definitely recommend!

We had a pipe leak in our crawl space and ZIPCO was able to get out ASAP and get us setup with mitigation to save our subfloor and get everything all dried out. They are true professionals and you can tell how knowledgeable they are while stile being very personable and easy to work with! Hopefully we will never need their services again but if we do, they will definitely be our first call!!

We absolutely love working with Mason! He’s always professional, easy to communicate with, and always takes every detail into consideration. Every time he comes to our showroom he knows exactly what he’s looking for and truly cares about helping his clients choose the best materials for their projects. It’s clear they take pride in their work from start to finish. Highly recommend Mason with Zipco to anyone looking for a reliable and detail-oriented individual to work with!

Had a water leak on my property, ZipCo was there immediately. Removed the damage and fixed the problem fast and efficiently. I couldn’t be more pleased with their work and would use them again for sure.
Big shoutout to David and Travis. They were both awesome, very easy to work with great communication with myself and insurance provider. Above and beyond people. Thanks again! -
If your Insurance Company tries to hire Zipco Contracting run. Unless you want missing high dollar unreplaceable antique furniture that your grandparents bought in 1934 when they first got married (meanwhile all the junk makes it back) door trim along your walls, wall to wall real slate fireplace replaced with cheap knock off just in front to pass regulation but wall-to-wall uneven wood panels that look unprofessional and probably the worst looking fireplace in is South Springfield neighborhood.
Downstairs bath room heating/cooling vent covered up like we don't need it in the bathroom (I provided Mason with a picture that happened to capture the vent in the bathroom & he was gonna come back and look for it with a magnet, but like many things he said it didn't happen )no turn keys in the vents installed downstairs so no way to control the airflow (it's fine just stuffing napkins in them for now) subcontractors that only seemed to work on a Mondays like every three weeks or so while the rest of your insurance money is ate up by air b&b fees, and then being forced to move back into a house with no furniture while the contract still is not completed for TWO MONTHS (including no shelving or rails in the closet to hang stuff up on, no dishes for the kitchen & no transition in between doorways and stairs, leaving uneven floors & yes, for two months living like that ) ETC. The fire happened last July 2024 moved back in April 2025. Not to mention a "contractor"
That absolutely sucks or is just way overworked with too many jobs. I think a little bit of both.
I'm coming from 6 years in administrative
Duties as a commercial construction office manager, simply unbelievable, Unorganized, unprofessional, and really honestly a money grab with absolutely no regards to the homeowners.
The work to "complete" the contract while we lived without our belongings returned or any way to organize in the closets for two months, literally took less than six hours. It was done in one day. Then we finally got our stuff back well what could be salvaged. But as I mentioned, all the money was eight up by Airbnb fees, so we had no furniture. I know people that had just as extensive of damage done to their homes, but we're back in it in four months there's absolutely no reason it should've taken 9 months in an Airbnb and an additional two months living without the contract completed in the home with nothing!!! But the best part was the entire insurance settlement was made up with Airbnb fees and the contract so we moved back into the house with absolutely no money to replace any furniture with. Absolutely ridiculous what this company put my family through.
