Im going to give an honest review of my experience with the owner.

This is a long review, short version: confusion between us and the owner, and instead of being professional about it, he gave us attitude... Read on for long story....

I called him and after talking he agreed to come to my house and look at my setup to recommend some work, on the phone I said, "I would pay him a tip for the trip and gas". He texted me and let me know he was coming today around 1pm. When he got here, he knocked on our door and called and texted me. He wasn't able to get a hold of me, because i left my cell phone in the kitchen and was back in the bedroom in a (impromptu) meeting with my boss; i had headphones on. My wife was upstairs rocking our 8 month old baby to sleep. I noticed my phone at 2pm when I went into the kitchen to get a drink, and immediately called him back, I said I was SO SORRY this happened, explained why we didn't hear him, and asked if can we reschedule... his response is where it went south.

He said, "I'm going to pass..." if he had stopped there i wouldn't be writing this.. but then he proceeded to say, "...you wasted 40 mins of my time, and i was just trying to help you." I was caught off guard by this unprofessional and emotional response. so i said, "I'm sorry, I didn't waste your time on purpose, but since you are going to get an attitude about it, have a good day sir". I hung up.

Honestly, if he would have been professional about it and responded, "I am really busy, let me check my calendar and get back with you"... I would have been ok. Also, like i said above, I WAS GOING TO TIP HIM... So even if he responded. "Well, i'm busy and it took 40 mins of my time to drive down there, so if i come out again, I will charge a $100 fee" I WOULD BE OK PAYING THAT... lol I had a repentant attitude, I knew it was my fault we missed him...

I am a forgiving man, and will revise this review if i get an apology for the attitude and unprofessionalism. Will not use them, of course, I cant trust that they will treat me professionally if they did work for me.

Highly recommend this company if you are looking to build new fence. Katie and Todd are great to work with. We are very happy with our new fence and stone fence retaining wall.

American Fence & Stone put up our brand new 8 ft board-on-board fence and I am thrilled with it! They replaced the lousy builder-grade fence that we have been constantly attempting to repair for 10+ years, and what an upgrade! Sturdy, attractive, multiple solidly-built gates, plus a custom corner gate which will really enhance our ability to utilize our outdoor space. We contacted 3 local fence builders for a quote: one who never replied; one who needed to schedule a quote several weeks out; and American, who came out the very next day and provided a detailed quote with several options we were considering. Pricing was very fair, installation was quick and professional, and Todd and crew were super easy to work with, consulting with us every step of the way. No more worrying about the fence falling apart every time it gets windy (which is often in Wylie!). Plus major curb appeal since we are on a corner lot. We like to support local family-owned businesses whenever possible and it has definitely been worth it on this occasion. Highly recommended!

Can't recommend Todd, Katie and AF&S enough. Todd was very helpful, talked through multiple options with us. Put up with my wishy-washiness. Our hail damaged fence was removed quickly, the new fence went up fast, looks great and could probably repel invading hordes, that's how sturdy it is. The pricing was simple, fair, and we will giving them more business for other jobs we have in the future. Very very very happy. Thanks Todd!

Half of my fence was in a lean. Called Todd, and he sent a crew pretty quick to straighten them up. Not only were his prices more competitive then others, his crew was professional, courteous, and quick! Other companies wanted to double the price stating they need to dismantle the fence. Highly recommend and will be using them in the future!

I highly recommend American Fence and Stone! My new board on board fence is so much better constructed and solid than the builder grade fence that came with my house. The redwood is really pleasing to the eye and will last a long time. Todd and his crew were great to work with and they also followed my request in the specific placement of one side of the fence. Thanks!

Todd came out immediately and thoroughly evaluated my project/issue and offered several solutions at different price points all in which the prices were very reasonable. He just finished extending a retaining/sitting wall around my pool and re-grading the ground around the pool and house to resolved some major drainage problems (almost flooded my house). All the flooding we've had just tested his work and it performed perfectly. He also put in a stone flower bed border and it looks great. Todd and his crew did an outstanding job and did it right. Like most people, I've had countless issues with hiring out projects like these and I'm always skeptical going into a project and worried it will be done right. They capped off all the sprinkler heads that needed removing, reconnected my irrigation lines, cleaned off the pool deck, etc. This is the only time I've hired out a job like this and been completely satisfied with the results. I've already hired him to come back and start on more projects. Always very responsive communication.

I called Todd on a Saturday about 11am and ask about getting a quote on a fence (thought he would say he would look at it Monday) he said he would come by in an hour and arrived in an hour. within a week and a half they had completed the job, as we looked over the work I mentioned an issue with my sprinkler it took him less than an hour to find the problem go get the part needed replace it and didn't even charge for the repair. the fence is great and looks outstanding.

Even though the work we needed done was a small job -- just an 8'x10' concrete slab -- Todd was professional and accommodating from the very first contact, unlike other contractors we had reached out to.

He went above and beyond to make sure the job was framed out, poured, and finished to perfection in one day. Todd was courteous, conscientious, and thoughtful thought the process.

Todd and his team completed installation of new sod and stone edging about 1 year ago. The results were awesome. He is very responsive and came back out a couple times to ensure the sprinklers were adjusted to properly cover the new grass. I had numerous quotes for this work and Todd is by far the most reasonable and dependable contractor I've worked with.

I recently had a sprinkler valve box filling with water and called for Todd's assistance once again. Todd was quick to identify and resolve the issue. I highly recommend Todd. He's very fair with pricing and shows up when he says he will and does a quality job. Very hard to find that quality lately.

Great company to work with. I called to set up an appointment for an estimate, Todd came out the next day and was extremely patient in answering all of my questions. Upon receiving the quote I let them know I was excepting their proposal, he took care of the City permit and got me on the schedule. Crew was out 2 weeks later to build the fence as promised. The crew was very professional. I absolutely love my new fence so glad I found them!
