Hook helped re-frame and appropriately re-trim around two doors that were massacred by a different contractor. They went from an eyesore to a lovely part of our old home. Excellent job.

Hook home maintenance has done several projects for me Tile work hardwood floors and fencing. They do great work and stand behind the work.

Some of the workers were great. But the overseer did not ensure proper customer care. They did not cover our stuff and we had debris throughout our storage. The water lines were not properly installed and now the second winter our water line freezes if it gets below 10’. Never happened prior to their installation.

I contacted Hook Home to have them replace and stain our deck. I found Hook Home unreliable not only in terms of communication but also with deck staining.

I emailed Hook Home several questions after they came to review my deck and to give me an estimate on March 15. I sent a follow-up email on March 23, with no estimate. The estimate did not come until April 5. I asked questions about Trex vs. treated lumber, etc, to ensure I understood our options. Their answer was ambiguous.

The deck build went well, and Shawn Hook is very talented at building decks. I think it is a true shame that his coworkers and their unprofessionalism overshadow his craftsmanship.

Once the deck staining was scheduled, Lindsay Hook told me on August 2 via email that someone would come out with different shades of color close to the one we selected to test on the deck. This NEVER happened. The Thursday before Labor Day Weekend, Lindsey told us that we had to get the stain, and Hook pretended as if they had never sent that email. I pointed out that someone was supposed to test the colors in the email. I had to call Sunday night to express concern as no one emailed us back. Lindsay Hook said over the phone, "this isn't fair; I have family over." There was no focus on professionalism or their business. I am Deaf, and I had to call through a relay system, so I saved this conversation as proof of how Lindsay spoke. I am glad to share the transcript and emails as documentation.

Following the deck staining, we discovered stain splatter all over the side of our home, all over our new hasta plants, and the stain job was very splotchy and poorly done. Also, the two men said they had to come inside to bring the ladders up. This was never communicated to me [the deck build I did not have to be home and was told I did not need to be home], and this was a big problem as I work a lot. They expected me to revolve my work schedule around theirs.

I asked for the deck to be re-stained and fixed. Up until now, I had been communicating mainly with Shawn and Lindsay. Randall Hook then stepped in for this, and he is obnoxious! He said that we were contracted for only one layer of stain and that "their project is done." We never got a contract only a proposal and I had to send him the August 2nd email to show him what Lindsay stated. I also asked for the stain splatter to be cleaned up.

They came back to re-stain the deck, it looks better now. Hook partially cleaned up the stain splatter on our home. Randall Hook refused to go to our house to see the residual stain spots. To compromise, we asked for $300 off since we have to replace our plants and get a professional power washer to fix our siding. They only compromised on $150 off because that is how much they charge for power washing.

If you have all the time and patience in this world, only email them, never call them, be persistent, stay on top of every detail and get a paper trail of everything. As you can see, there are earlier negative reviews about their company here and on the Better Business Bureau website.

I am so impressed by the work I had done on my house by Hook. The crew worked quickly with care and wonderful craftsmanship. They were great with communication and answering my questions.

They do good work.. I had some issues trying to contact them but Lindsey took the time to call me and explain the issue with me… I appreciated that personal touch very much… I would recommend hook as a solution to your home improvement issues.. 😎✌️

We were in need of a contractor who could handle any project that arises at our home. Every project we've thrown at Hook, no matter what it is, has been completed with professionalism and always with a result that exceeds our expectations! I highly recommend them for any home project you can dream up.

I am thrilled how nice my new laminate hardwood floor turned out!! Andrew and Devin worked very hard to make sure everything was just as I wanted it!! They are both very compassionate about making sure the job is done correctly and in the time frame which was quoted! Their main concern is that the customer is happy and satisfied with their work and they will even take extra time to make sure even the smallest concerns are addressed and taken care of before leaving for the day and/or before completion of the job!!
