We hired RMOL to design and build out backyard on our new build home. everyone we worked with was very professional and they stand behind the work they do. they create deadlines and communicate with you which was very important for us. we were very pleased with the experience working with them.

Rocky Mountain Outdoor Living (Nick - owner) worked with us to design our new backyard. We started with a dirt backyard at a new build home. His crew worked hard building us a new retaining wall, installing a sprinkler system, hauling rock, boulders, trees, bushes, soil, and sod. Not an easy task at all! They worked hard and were only delayed by uncooperative weather. We also had a large concrete patio, walkway, and a fire pit patio poured and installed. The concrete company that Nick hired was wonderful also! This company is top notch!! We absolutely love, love, love our new backyard outdoor living spaces! We highly recommend this company!

RMOL completed a major outdoor project for us in 2022 which included a covered deck and fireplace, and a patio with firepit. When we discovered in early 2024 that the fireplace no longer worked after 1 year of use due to accidental incorrect installation, they willingly accepted responsibility and reimbursed us for the replacement costs. Jeremy was a talented carpenter during our project and now a manager. He responded quickly to our concerns and followed up with communication until we received the reimbursement. We are very appreciative that we worked with a company that takes responsibility for a job well done long after the immediate finish date! Bravo RMOL and particular thanks to Jeremy and Nick, the owner.

Do not hesitate one iota to use Rocky Mountain Outdoor Living. I used Nick and his team to do a complete gutting and rebuild of my back yard that comprised of landscaping, patio, deck, and walkway. When people say you get what you pay for, it's usually with a negative connotation. In my case, I got what I paid for and a whole lot more.
Throughout the project, I was continually impressed by how meticulous each of the landscape and deck crews were. You could tell they take exceptional pride in their work and are true craftsmen.
In addition to the exceptional work, the crews were respectful, hard-working, and a joy to work with. They were very responsive to making changes and getting input from us on the project.
One of the main reasons for going with RMOL is that Nick was willing to work within my cash flow situation. I explained to him, in the beginning, when I would have cash and how much. This worked out very well for me.
I will be using Rocky Mountain Outdoor Living when I look to redo my front yard sometime next year.

I have used Nick's team twice now for my landscaping phasing. I have been very happy with the service and quality of their work both times. They are very professional and efficient. After the install, they cleaned up everything and my backyard looks great. I know Nick's team does a lot of the yards in our neighborhood and they are always the ones that look the best. RMOL built a 8x18 spa pool for us with retaining walls, pavers and everything that needed to go around it. They built an outdoor kitchen and fireplace as well. Ann Marie managed the project for us and Ignacio was the supervisor on site managing the crew. While we didn't hit our timelines that we initially set, the team worked through many weather challenges to ultimately complete the project with very high quality. They were professional all throughout. There were multiple small things that came up that likely could have resulted in a change order, but RMOL just took care of those for me which I was very appreciative of.

Rocky Mountain Outdoor Living has really gone above and beyond. They were quick to come out and help me design an incredible backyard lanscape, they were extremely knowledgeable and very efficient in getting the job completed quickly. And to top it off, they even came through later to help remove a dead tree in the front originally planted by the builder.. I highly recommend you look at this business for you outdoor living needs. If you want it done right, call them!

Worked with the RMOL team on a patio and deck project. From the first outreach, they had excellent communication. Their sales, hardscape, landscape, and carpentry project managers are top-notch. They don't cut corners and get the job done correctly. I will hire again for all outdoor projects.

We hired Rocky Mountain Outdoor Living with the hope of building a long-term partnership for a multi-phase landscape transformation at our home. What we got instead was an uncoordinated, drawn-out, and deeply frustrating experience.

The sales process was full of promises—a rapid start, project completion within 6 weeks (even through winter), motivated crews, and proactive communication. None of that came to fruition. The project stretched on for months, and communication was so poor that I often had to remind them of their own commitments just to keep things moving.

Crews were frequently unorganized and inefficient. I observed workers taking long breaks, distracted on their phones, and lacking urgency. To make matters worse, I was then told labor charges were increasing—despite this inefficiency being well documented.

There was also a major breakdown in communication across their team. One week they were told Sunday work wasn’t allowed due to HOA policy, the next week a new crew showed up on a Sunday. Tasks that I had clearly documented (like final metal edging or erosion control) were missed or claimed to be unknown—despite me texting them days prior.

Even the scope adjustments became problematic. They under-ordered rock based on the design, then attempted to upcharge me to cover it. Despite delivering less than promised, they were slow to update the change order and reconcile payment fairly.

We ultimately terminated the relationship and made a final payment reflecting only the work that was actually completed. I do not recommend this company and would caution anyone considering them—especially for multi-phase or high-investment projects. This could have been a long-term partnership, but the lack of follow-through and accountability made that impossible.

Our experience with RMOL was amazing from start to finish. The whole team is friendly, kind, and honest. The sales / design process was smooth and the team worked to get us the right design for our budget - MG and Nick were so great and truly care!

We got a gabled roof and a paver patio, so we got to work with both the soft scape and hardscape teams. The soft scape team was friendly, and efficient, the whole roof took only a few days. Jeremy and his team are funny and great!

The hardscape team was truly incredible and never ceased to go above and beyond. They cleaned up every day and were so respectful and hardworking. They even went so far to clean my neighbor’s car when they got dust on it. They helped me with any specific requests I had and were abundantly patient with me when I was trying to understand the design. Ignacio is the best project manager I have met - so if you get him and his crew, you’re in luck.

The whole operation was like a well organized supply chain, we were never waiting on materials or permit inspections, it all was set up and delivered in synchronicity.

Our project finished on time and at the price that we originally planned!

I had Nick complete 2 major jobs on my Chenango home -- a redesign and change to my front entrance (carpentry, roofing, painting, gutters) and a complete replacement/rebuild of a 120' wood retaining wall - replaced with a modern, retaining block gravity wall.

Both jobs were completed with exceptional quality, good communication during the process and to my complete satisfaction. Although each job involved different crews, Nick and his team managed the entire process with through constant communication and excellent responsiveness -- which was very important to me.

Overall, Nick was easy to deal with, was sensitive to my needs and was very fair with me when we encountered changes to my original plans. Since I engaged Nick for my second big project (the wall), it's evident that I would recommend him and use him again.

We felt good when we sat down and they helped us create our vision for our outdoor living area. Each stage we met who our contact would be for any questions or concerns. Follow through with any concerns or issues were address quickly. Each person that worked on our project took pride in their work. It showed in the final product. We are very happy with the end result and we have been out enjoying it everyday.

Absolutely great work from planning through execution.! Nick and his team worked with us to develop a complete plan for the backyard of our new home. He was accommodating to our budget and flexible as we worked through issues with our homebuilder. The crews were very friendly, considerate, worked hard, and respectful of our home and neighbors. RMOL transformed our small, old, dilapidated decks and patio into beautiful new outdoor living spaces!! Our redwood deck with pergola is more than 1/3 larger than the old deck (actually a large upper deck and smaller lower deck). The crew was diligent in keeping the space cleaned up, and their work and attention to detail was great!!! Nick Liput worked with us to make changes and find good workable solutions that allowed us to have everything we wanted. The paver crew kept everything cleaned up, were quite skilled, and were just as personable and professional as the deck crew. We have a bunch of dogs and needed to keep gates closed and everyone was diligent in making sure that they were secure -- even so, our dogs made a bunch of new friends!!! We LOVE our new decks and patio and can't imagine that they could have looked any better!!!!

Nick Liput and his crew were fabulous to work with on my complete rebuild of my large deck. From the beginning bid, payment schedule, design and materials used, everything was detailed, documented and accounted for. Nick’s impressive business skills and building knowledge was evident in the work that his crew did. I can’t say enough about how hard his crew worked. They put in long days, even in inclement weather, kept to a schedule, and cleaned up site each day.

I now have a beautiful new deck with lighted railings and stairs!

The team did a great job. They installed a small plunge pool and surrounding concrete deck in back of our new house. The project had to be coordinated with another landscaping team that was doing a water feature and fire pit for us. They worked successfully with them - no finger pointing back and forth. Our project was completed in a timely manner and the quality was great. The pool had an automatic coverage that was initially a bit too large. They coordinated with the vendor and got it sorted out quickly with no hassles. The crew was great at adapting on the fly to last minute updates like rerouting and burying some gutter downspouts. They cleaned up the site after each day. Would definitely recommend them.

Communication was excellent - timing of activities, design details, crew sought my approval of construction details and preferences. Crew alerted me about any non-clear design details or issues. Collaborative effort from all RMOL.

The crew was amazing, very attentive, and willing to accept my input on the project. The crew was very skilled in everything they did. They worked very hard and long hours.

I really enjoyed the process and my participation, I was treated as a 'team member'.
