Owning solar is incredibly worthwhile and in our opinion Volt Seed is the best company around to perform installation and manage maintenance.

1. The rooftop solar system Volt Seed installed on our new home last year is working wonderfully. It is March and we’re already producing more energy than we’re using, banking energy credits through net metering. We find this worth noting as typically winter months in New England, homeowners use more energy than they’re producing.

2. One of the circuit breakers shorted in February, causing half of the panels to stop producing. Dallin, the owner of Volt Seed, came right out and replaced it in a matter of an hour. He was very friendly and helpful. We definitely recommend the warranties, as this repair was covered.

3. Dallin and his Volt Seed team have been very responsive, helpful, and forthright from the start when we have system questions or need maintenance. They look out for their customers' best interests. They’ve also offered to help sign us up for Massachusetts’ SREC incentive program, which pays solar owners approximately $3k over 10 years for green energy production.

4. Volt Seed offers a loan program for installation, making solar installation very financially accessible for homeowners.

We are incredibly fortunate to now own a home with solar, and feel great about contributing green energy to the grid. Throughout the year we're building credits for the energy that we produce in excess of consumption, resulting in a $0 electric bill three seasons of the year. We then use these credits to reduce our electric bill during low production periods, such as winter months, at night, and during cloud cover. As someone who has worked for an environmental protection nonprofit for 17+ years, I fell in love with our home in part because of the solar. It’s environmentally conscientious and during a time when the cost of living is ever increasing, one of the smartest ways to reduce household expenses. We are grateful to the Volt Seed team.

Just finished with installation. The entire process starting with our special consultant Ms Heidi Trotter who walk us through every step. A positive and knowledgeable young woman whose sole purpose was to make sure we were understanding the process and guiding us through start to finish. Can’t say enough about how professional this young woman was. Thank you Heidi. Then Dallin Trotter and his installation team “slim shady” Zack and electric expert Ed. Spent the install day working so hard and assuring our home was done right and professionally. I stayed home to watch only to be amazed at how they did and so open to making sure any questions were answered. My wife and I can’t think of a better company than Volt Seed to work on our home. Good people! I spoke with Heidi and she was very helpful and informative. Im still in the planning phases, and in my opinion, she went above and beyond to answer my questions and do anything she could to be helpful.

From my initial phone call to discuss solar options through the final installation, working with Heidi and Volt Seed was an excellent experience. They clearly explained the entire process and set clear expectations at each step. During the presentation, they also reviewed financing in detail, outlining two options: one with a lower interest rate but front-loaded interest, where making extra payments would not reduce the overall interest paid, and another with a higher rate, which could be paid off more quickly with additional payments. We chose the second option, since our monthly electric savings would allow us to pay off the loan in about eight years, ultimately saving significantly more than the first option. Overall, I highly recommend Volt Seed for anyone considering solar.

My SolarEdge inverter failed 17 days ago and was just replaced today by Dallin. I have an orphaned Solar Wolf Energy system installed in 2020 but Rosemary and Heidi treated me like they had installed my system when I contacted them looking for support. Within 24 hours of first contact, Dallin was at my house! He got the RMA approved with SolarEdge in less than an hour. 10 of the 17 days I was down was waiting for SolarEdge to deliver the replacement inverter.

3/7 - Inverter goes down
3/10 - I call 5+ installers looking for support
3/11 - Dallin visits and gets RMA approved
3/14 - Replacement inverter shipped from Nevada
3/21 - Replacement inverter arrives
3/24 - Dallin returns to swap out units

I cannot recommend Volt Seed enough. Whether you have an existing system that needs support or are looking to install a new system, Dallin's meticulous attention to detail is second to none. If I ever need solar support in the future, Volt Seed will be my first call. THANK YOU!

Being both skeptical and leery of bold claims about solar energy savings, and of salespeople who are paid on commission, I entered the market for a solar system.
I had three companies respond. Two were commission based. The 3rd., Volt Seed was refreshingly different. They (as well as the others) guided us away from renting a system, as all the incentives (30% tax credits) go to the renting company. But the biggest difference with Volt is their people. They are genuine, knowledgeable, caring, concerned, and above all honest.
I felt like I could trust them. So I did, and they designed my system, even over- building for potential demand increase - at our request.
Permits and sign offs in rural areas take a lot of time (inspectors all have other jobs) but the Volt Seed crew built our system in 1 day! Plus the new roof they suggested lowered our home insurance too.
They are professional and honest, but caring. During this time a very young kitten we adopted had a serious illness. They sent a get well card! I have never seen that before.
Last comment, the new dual directional meter was installed in late May and we are currently -750kwh while concurrently running central air for several weeks.
We very much endorse this company if you are trying to decide.

We wanted to use solar, but every company pushed the leasing on us, and we wanted to buy them out right.
We spoke to Volt seed about it, and Dallin explained the process and reason's to own our system.
We decided to go ahead with the solar and from start to finish it was 6 weeks. They are there to answer questions and thoroughly explain everything. Dallin and Heidi are extremely pleasant and polite.
We are so happy with the whole process and how smoothly it all went from contract to install. I would highly recommend them.

We love our solar panels, and we love not having a power bill even more!! The Volt Seed Solar team are true professionals and know how to get the job done right. We particularly appreciated their honesty and felt like they cared about us getting the system that was best for us. When we had some unexpected delays, they took it all in stride and adjusted their schedule to make it work. They are friendly and easy to work with. I highly recommend working with them!

Recently, the company that I had install my solar tracking unit, left the area and moved to New York. They would charge an exorbitant rate to come back to Massachusetts for any type of service. While checking my solar production I found that my system had shut down. I contacted them and they advised it would be over $700 to come out and check the system which I agreed to. They informed me that my inverter had died and I would need a new one. They then informed me that that it would be another $700 to come back out plus labor. I felt this was ridiculous. Fortunately, I was given the name of Volt Seed in Dudley. A quick call and Dallin was at the house. He advised that he could install the new inverter under warranty and his labor was half of the previous company. Dealing with Heidi and rosemary has been wonderful. I have sense switched all my solar monitoring over to Volt Seed. They have great customer service and are fast at getting back to you. If you are interested in solar. I would strongly recommend this local and family run business.

Volt Seed has a very patient and very knowledgeable sales team who is able to work with you more directly to get you to purchase what fits best for you rather than what helps someone else's sales commission.

I had an interest in purchasing solar since before purchasing a home as I had always thought of it as a way to cut down on expenses. I had no idea what any of this entailed. After purchasing my home I was greeted by another company's door-to-door sales reps who were pushing leasing options on me. Admittedly, I was a bit disappointed in the leasing bill being roughly the same as my current electric bill with annual escalators. Clearly not what I had in mind. I was even told by that company that leasing was a better choice and one of their sales reps eventually said they don't sell panels which turned out to be not true. They just wanted to lock me into a lease. I even ran into another one of their reps at a fare who tried to lure me away from the reps I was working with despite knowing I was already working with the same company.

This all caused me to shop around and eventually get connected with Heidi who was incredibly patient with my indecision and came out multiple times. I never felt pressured to buy and she let the products/offerings speak for themselves. They were very responsive to all of my questions both during and after the process. To highlight their honesty, I purchased my system around November and had everything installed and turned on by January. They warned me that due to the winter months and shorter daylight that I would be getting an electric bill whereas if I waited until the spring/summer months when there's more daylight I would be getting energy credits. The previous solar company told me I required panels on the front and back of my roof based on my energy consumption. Volt Seed told me I only needed in the back. They installed the panels in the back and as they described, I got an energy bill my first couple of months. When comparing my energy bill from last year to my current energy bill + loan I was negative $70 the first month, negative $6 the second and now I'm already ahead by March and building credits for the winter. This also doesn't account for the sudden cost spikes from the grid over the past year. It's a very comfortable feeling having energy cost protection.

The panels themselves I think look very sleek and the fact they're behind the house makes them very hard to notice which was something we were really hoping for during this process.

From tree removal, roof replacement, and panel installation: Volt Seed Solar managed it all. Dallin, Heidi, & Rosemary were great to work with. Called for some info on solar for a potential purchase of a property. The house already had solar so it was more of an informational call. Even though there was really no potential for a sale on their end, Volt Seed was more than happy to answer my questions and went into great detail about what I should expect and how to benefit from solar in general. My first interaction with Volt Seed Solar proved to be a much different and more positive experience compared to previous dealings with other solar companies in the area. She took the time to fully understand the scope of the project and executed every aspect in a very well-defined and precise manner. The team demonstrated a high level of expertise and maintained current knowledge of the latest technologies and solar panel options available on the market. After evaluating my property, they recommended a ground-mounted system rather than a roof-mounted installation due to improved sun exposure and a more optimal angle to the sun. This approach was selected to maximize energy production and overall system efficiency throughout the year.

Volt Seed Solar was able to accommodate my accelerated schedule needs when other solar companies quoted months out. Once I started working with Heidi and Dallin I felt heard about my questions and concerns at all times. They were very responsive (even calling me after hours, which was not expected). They provided honest up front estimates so I could understand the various option available without putting pressure on me to make a decision.

Once I made up my mind and the process got rolling things went very quickly with most of the delay being from the town taking so long to issue permits and do the inspections.

Where do I start….From the moment Josh Clark came into my home I knew this would be the day I chose to go solar. Josh was professional, courteous, and all around a good guy. He took his time and explained everything so I could understand. My intention was to just hear him out but he really broke it down and showed me the value. He kept my up to date throughout the whole process. Then the install crew came and the same thing. Led by Andy they were on time, quick, and respected my property. They also kept me informed of the progress. I’ve talked to several solar “brokers” and none of them compared to SIG! Thanks for everything you did Josh to make this such an easy setup. What an awesome crew to work with. Everyone from the appraiser, to the installation crew and even the office staff, they all made the experience easy and incredibly fast. They are all very professional and polite. After the install, I had neighbors come up to me and wondered how they the got all that work done in such a short amount of time. What an amazing experience I had with SIG Solar from beginning to end. Having been highly recommended by a friend, I decided to try out SIG. It was Deanna Greener's visit and extensive explanation of the system's benefits from start to finish that convinced us to go solar. Throughout the installation process, she kept in constant contact with me and was always available to answer any questions I had. Thank you for the professional work of the installation team. Our experience with SIG Solar has been an amazing experience from start to finish. We met Josh Clark at an event in Oakdale and never felt like we were getting the run around. My wife and I are absolutely impressed and so happy with our new solar system and the services we received from Josh Clark and the entire SIG team. I was skeptical at first as Josh Clark promised the world, I figured he was just a typical sales guy. Well, he turned out to be amazing and over delivered on every single promise he made. We received 3 quotes in total (SunRun SunPower and SIG)…. We decided to go with SIG to support local business (good ole Oakdale boys) and their products are made in USA. Their warranty destroys the completion and their price is competitive as well, was actually the best price. Josh kept in touch through the entire process and followed up with his teams to keep everything and everyone on track. They completed our system ahead of schedule.
