Excellent company I have used for repairs in the past and just purchased a unit and had it installed Dan is very professional, honest, dependable I wouldn't use any other service for my a/c needs.

I recently purchased a home that had a new A/C system installed in November of 2019. The A/C and heat both stopped working, I called the company that installed it (name was on unit). They charged me $89 to come out. They wanted to charge me $750 to diagnose what they thought might be wrong, $1700 in labor to replace a part that was under warranty. and then another $750 to recharge the unit. They also said I needed a $1800 UV light for future mold. I asked someone one at work if this seemed outrages. They told me to call their "A/C guy" I called Dan, he returned my call, came out the day he promised, ordered the part, came back and was done in just a few hours and we couldn't be happier. His price was very fair, he is very professional and a true "skilled tradesman." I am not a bargain shopper; I just want to work with honest people. If you are looking for the same thing then Dan is your "A/C Guy" 5+ stars

Dan put an AC unit in my home in 2015 and his quote was $3k cheaper than any others. Everyone said I would regret it you get what you pay for. 8 years later it’s working great & Ive had to call Dan out 2x and he came same day both times and it was a capacitor he had on hand. Professional, honest and good quality - genuinely could not recommend him more!!

Over the years, Area Wide has saved us time and time again. They kept our 20+yr old A/C system going long past its expiration date. When we decided it was time to upgrade it to something new, Dan set us up with the most energy efficient system available. He and Joe got it installed in no time and were great to work with. Several years ago, I was in need of a new air conditioning/heating unit for my condo in St. Pete. After reviewing several proposals, I chose Area Wide. It's one of the best decisions I have ever made. Since the installation of my new unit, I've had to call on Dan and his staff for various reasons. He is extremely responsive and returns my calls immediately. If he is not able to help me over the phone, he is at my condo the next day. Dan is a true professional and I would recommend him when in need of a HAVC contractor.

We subscribed to Mason’s maintenance membership for AC, plumbing, and electrical at our vacation home, and were pretty disappointed. After each inspection, we kept getting upsell estimates for thousands of dollars.

The last visit was for AC maintenance. The report wasn’t very clear—lots of boxes checked but no detail on what was actually done. When we called, we were assured that the AC lines were drained and the filter was replaced. Five days later, we checked and the filter was very dirty and it was obvious it was not replaced during the maintenance visit.

When we followed up, they first said filter replacement isn’t included. After asking to speak to a supervisor (since this is pretty standard and we even left new filters by the unit), they admitted the technician missed it. But instead of offering any refund for a job that wasn’t complete, they offered a free year of maintenance and asked us not to cancel.

We declined. If they can miss something as basic as replacing a dirty filter, it’s hard for us to trust them with the whole AC system.

If your having A/C issues, I would highly recommend Mason Air out of Clearwater. Here’s why.
We experienced a lack of consistent cooling in one of our units during this recent accelerated heat wave.
Mason sent out one of their tech’s, Luis Calixto Sr.
Luis did a thorough check for any leaks. He didn’t find any but the Freon read was low, about two pounds.
Instead of putting Freon in right away, he said he would come back the next day (yesterday) and recheck the level. He did.
The level registered 10.4 which is where it’s suppose to be and on par with his earlier assessment there were no visible leaks in either the outside unit or air handler.
He did say the likely problem was the TXV coil valve in the air handler, which didn’t properly open at the time he first took Freon reading.
It obviously was working when Luis Sr. did the re-check the next day.
He concurred that nothing need to be done right now, but if it happens again, the TXV valve in air handler should be replaced.
This is a perfect example of why we are steadfast customers of Mason Air out of Clearwater. Honesty and professionalism. Another company tech might just say you need two pounds of Freon, charge us for something we didn’t need, and not even evaluate the real problem.
Luis Sr. came out free of charge. The follow up was on his OWN TIME. He didn’t want to do anything until he double checked the system.
Think about that.
If you do have to get something repaired or replaced, their service fees are fair.
Just a suggestion. Mason Air has given us a confident feeling in doing business.
