I wish what Michael wrote was true. It is not to my advantage to back out of a contract or treat anyone badly, this has delayed the whole process of my dock and since he didn't take out the permit he was suppose to I am still in permitting. anyone would get upset if you email just to follow up and find out a week ago this happened and they don't have the decency to email their clients and let them know and then find out that they didn't even have permits like they were suppose to and then the email was 1 line long not explaining anything or having no compassion. I wish Michael well and i only wrote this review because I was recommended to him and didn't read these reviews before and thought people should know.

Spent $45,000 with them on a dock in 2007, excellent job at the time, fast forward to today and the company will not even consider helping to fix the rotten ledger boards I have now. Very sad that they have no time for existing clients and I can never recommend them due to this. When you choose a company choose carefully.

My husband and I both agree that Morrison Contractors were the best possible company to work with in building out new dock. The whole process was fast, thorough, seamless and we love the final product. Thank you MC!!

I would warn everyone to stay away. I hired Morrison Builders after Mike Morrison quoted the job. I wanted a straight edged top, board on board fence with 4 foot gates that swing in. I was told no problem, special ordered wood, paid the extra, etc.
The problems began with posts being set at the property line, which would have put fence over neighbors property. The 1x6 spacing is inconsistent which resulted in the nails not having 1x6 underneath. The correction wasn't to pull apart and space as they should be but to add screws long enough to bridge the gap. The gates weren't plumb or level with the fence and they even used 2 pieces of wood rather than 1 solid piece to clad the gate. Notified Mike that more posts were splitting and nails pulling loose and he has refused to honor his warranty or issue a refund. He now claims I was told the design wouldn't work. Its a simple board on board fence with a 4 foot in-swinging gate. Incorrect spacing, nails pulling loose, gates not hung level or plumb, and splitting wood are all workmanship and material issues.

Morrison Builders put in a 50ft dock at my house they also cleaned up a code problem from another dock company basically at their cost.
Their price wasn't the cheapest, but still competitive, and the work was done right, they even navigated the many levels of bureacracy needed to do anything these days. There were no "uh-oh's" or " I forgot to tell you's" or "that wasnt included's" in the transaction.

They did what they promised on budget, on time.

Bad Morisson

We order one dock for our home in April 2019, he give us a estimate, we accept and said please, do that in next January. He said OK but 5% more.
We sign and he sign the contract, we pay 50% immediatly.
And in january he reffund our money and said, i don't have time!!

We answer, why not in February, but no!

Never I thought than one American with a company like this can no respect his signature.

It's the first time in my 67 years life , I see this.

And we cannot buy the boat this year.

IF YOU are looking for THE BEST team to construct your dock, THESE ARE THE GUYS!!! TOTALLY Love how the job turned out! City of Hollywood was slow as crap with permitting BUT, NOT Morrison Contractors!!! They had a big job knocked out in 5 days with PERFECTION! I shopped around with 5 bids before going with this company. BEST DECISION EVER!! Good luck with your project!

I contracted with Morrison Contractors to repair my existing seawall and to build a new wood dock, the work they did was outstanding, all my neighbors are asking who did the work, it came out amazing.

If you're thinking of getting any Marine Construction work done - I recommend Morrison Contractors.

I just met Mr. Morrison less than an hour ago. He and his team are very nice and SUPER honest. I have a HUGE seawall and was told by another seawall contractor that I had to address my failing seawall. The other contractor wanted me to put in "Jet Filters" at a cost of about $1,000 per every 10 feet of seawall. I seen Morrison Contractors barges going up and down my canal so I decided to give them a call. It took less than 1 week before Mr. Morrison showed up at my house. He inspected the seawall. He gave me advice on some quick fixes that I needed to do in the future, cost of adding to the seawall cap, cost of a boat dock, and cost of a new boat lift. Then he did something I never ever could image. He told me that the seawall was essentially fine and for me NOT to waste my money with "Jet Filters" because they DO NOT work. WOW! What an honest guy. I just had to write this review about Mr. Morrison and his company even though he never did any work for me. If and when I have work done I will definitely use this company. The best experience I have EVER had with any contractor. I have learned a very, very painful lesson from many, many other South Florida contractors... They Lie, Cheat, and Steal. Thank God there are people like Mr. Morrison still working. I am so glad I met him today.

Only delays were permit processing. Ounce permits were received job started exactly when they told me. Continued through inspections to completion. The staff on site and office were awesome. Great communication knowing status. The workmanship and quality of materials was top notch. Probably the best built, best looking dock on my canal. I would definitely use and recommend them.

I had a complete job done by Morrison Contractors: seawall footer, seawall cap, new retaining wall, new trex dock and the reinstallation of my boat lift. From start to finish, 5 stars all the way. No detail was spared. No request was too much. Everything came out beautiful and better than I ever expected.

The price of the job was competitive and it was commensurate with the high quality of work. You get what you pay for in marine construction and of course in anything else you buy in life.

Tim, Barry, Cheryl, Mandy and all of the different workers on each crew (too many names to list) went above and beyond. The whole Morrison crew is hand picked by Mike Morrison for a reason.

The only partial negative I can think of is that the job took longer than I expected. But if you want the “Rolls Royce” of seawall construction, you have to wait for it. But I can assure you, it will be more than worth the wait. You will have a quality seawall and dock that will last.

I usually don’t write reviews but I recently had a deck done by Morrison Contractors Inc. and they did a fantastic job. They exceeded my expectations and that is a very hard thing to do. It took me almost 2 years of getting estimates from several companies to finally hire this company. I even got 3 estimates from companies home Depo recommended and they were either extremely expensive or very cheep and unprofessional. Had one guy measure the area with his feet and another show up drunk. The deck area that I wanted built is connected to my pool with a jacuzzi and there are above ground pipes that needed to be cover and also the unfinished back area of the pool. The job was not a simple one and I must say the quality of work and attention to detail was superb. I found this company after reading 100’s of reviews online and doing major research, their price were in the middle range of the many quotes that I got. Sometimes the cheepest price is not always the best work. After meeting with Mr. Morrison and explaining to him what I wanted I knew this company was the right fit for me. I am very, very happy with the end result of my deck and with the great service I received from the people at the office and the men working on the deck.

We just had new Trex decking put on our dock by Morrison Contractors. The pricing was reasonable and the crew did a wonderful job. The new framing that was added before the decking was applied is very sturdy. They replaced the stairs going down to the dock and they were very well built and attractive. We would highly recommend Morrison Contractors for any decking or fencing job (they previously put in a fence for us and did a great job).

At a time, and in a place, where indifference and shoddy workmanship are the norm, I was extremely pleased and impressed with the quality of the dock built for me by Morrison. The contruction crew members worked hard and were unbelievably precise and neat. The office staff dealt with all the permitting and inspection headaches and kept me updated. I'm very happy with the end result and would recommend Morrison to anyone wanting a dock built right!

This week, my fiancé's Galeon as well as a friend's vessel were damaged as a result of incompetence on this company and have refused to accept responsibility for the damage, even though there is video footage of the incident and obvious damage to our boat and our friend's boat. Morrison has no respect for people's property. Not only are the owner and the receptionist arrogant, but also they both have no regard for the property of others.

Michael Morrison and his team are stellar. Debbie in the office is extremely responsive and punctual. I had them build two docks and two sea walls in the past 20 years. Poncho did my last doc and he did a great job. I fully trust Morris and contractors and have referred them to friends and family who they have worked for and I was thanked by my friends and family for referring such a good contractor. My permit took six weeks to get in there was no issues at all with what the contractor submitted to the city I live in the city took forever. Once we got the permit they scheduled the date they told me approximate completion and they exceeded my expectations and quality of work in the amount of time it took which was less than their anticipated completion date. Most importantly the employees were clean and very nice I couldn’t believe it but they all spoke English too. I am a contractor and they totally deserve this review I just can’t say enough about this company. I’m leaving this review three years after they did a brand new hundred foot seawall and dock and it still looks like it did the day they installed it. Enough said good luck.

Morrison contractors installed a new doc at my house. They passed inspection with flying colors, and the job came out beautiful. I would highly recommend them to anybody that need a new dock. City inspector came out and said it was one of the best jobs he’s ever seen. As a owner of a local business, I know how hard it is to get people to write good reviews when they are happy, but they deserve five stars.

I hired Morrison Contractors to replace a 2nd story deck at my home in Plantation , FL. Mr. Morrison came personally to spec and quote the job. The price was very fair. Once the work commenced, a crew of quality builders came to my home and completed the entire job down to the finest detail in about 2 days including the demolition and removal of the old deck. Very pleased. The quality of the work is excellent. I would hire again at any time.

We had difficulty finding any referrals for this type of project. We were fortunate enough to find Mr. Morrison and his company online. All of their employees, from the office staff, to the demo crew, to the framing and concrete crews, and on and on, were all extremely professional and meticulous. Just returned to NY from our home in North Miami Beach where Morrison Contractors built a new deck for us. Finding a reputable contractor to perform the work in our area wasn’t an easy task; nor was the permitting process. Thankfully, we found Morrison Contractors!

To sum up how the project went I would just like to say that Mike Morrison is a solid guy who (in the end) delivered exactly as promised. His description on day one pertaining to how the process would go was “spot on” and the only thing that he failed to tell me was that his company would exceed our expectations - WHICH THEY DID!!!

As a business owner myself, I know that you’re only as good as your staff. That said, I would like to post a special “Thanks” to Mandy who really kept the project streamlined and on target. Any questions we had along the way were answered immediately and precisely. Her level of professionalism was very impressive; so much so that if I owned a deck building company I’d offer 2X her current salary to work for me!

Finally, this review wouldn’t be complete without mentioning what an “over the top” job Pancho and his crew did during the rip out of our old deck and build of the new one. To start, access into our yard wasn’t the easiest. It involved traversing through our HOA’s common pool area because the deck was situated behind our townhouse adjacent to a canal. Thankfully, the same impression they gave when they showed up on day one with professionally marked vehicles and all workers neatly uniformed echoed throughout the entire project. Pancho and his crew worked neatly, efficiently and paid attention to every last detail. Notable also was how well the crew got along with each other and the fact that they would answer any and all questions I had during the build process. I’m absolutely confident that Mike Morrison is proud to have a crew like this on his staff, as they really worked hard to build a dream deck in our little corner of paradise!!!

I can’t say enough good things about Morrison Contractors! We interviewed 4 companies to do our project. We are so pleased we chose Morrison.
The project was started while we were on vacation so that was an added concern. Our neighbors said the workers were clean and accommodating during the removal of the old dock. Yes we had a few unforeseen problems that occurred, but each concern was handled professionally and only added a modest amount to the project.
The crew came in every morning and worked together in meticulous order to finish our project in a fairly short period of time. They cleaned up every day and the finished product exceeds our expectations!
I will recommend them for any dock or deck project. They were fabulous!
