May 2021 will be a year since Leo the yard man installed 2100 dollars worth what should have been Bahia sod ,I called Leo out in late August to have a look at his work, walked him around the yard and ask him why I had all this dead grass and so many weeds, after only three months he was so surprised his advise was to fertilize use weed and feed and water more ,I told him if after three months I needed to do all that I would have kept my old lawn .Leo is a mower blower and weed eater man not a sod guy don’t use him for sod replacement

Job #1 I hired Leo to remove old white stone rocks and install new red lava rocks/with curbing in my garden beds in the front yard. Also, I clearly explained that I wanted the weeds to be covered with weed paper and he ensured me that they would be covered and not become visible. When he came back for job #2 in my back yard/on the side of the yard, I explained to him the weeds were showing. Not even 2 weeks had passed and already the weeds were showing. His response was that it was the grass seeds from mowing and sprayed the weeds with weed remover. Well, his spray did not work and the weeds have grown, also in the back & side. Also, he never answers the phone. His wife takes all calls. They never call you back. You will never get him on the phone. Don't waste your time and money with this company, plus his English is broken.

We needed a removal of a stump from a bush. They were prompt and cleaned the area well, but charged $100 for a 5 minute job that we'd already started. We should have finished it ourselves.

Leo and his crew were the best! We can not say enough good things about them. Our yard looks so much nicer with the trees he recommended. The neighbor liked them so much that they had the same planted when he removed three trees for them! They are a great company and we don't hesitate when recommending them to anyone. And we like that they acknowledge us when they go by the house !

Yard Men owned by Leo and Monna Montiel were recommended to us by the General Contractor that rebuilt our home. Our situation was that we were taking out our lanai and having a single lane heated salt water lap pool installed with the existing lanai to be extended about five feet in depth. We already had a fantastic growth of forty (40) Podocarpus Plants and two (2) Pygmy Date Palms and we did not want to lose these.
Leo came to our home, reviewed our plans and strongly recommended that we remove all but six Podocarpus Plants, replant them on the side of the house (and runs water to each plant) and let them stay there until it was time to put them back when the pool and new cage were installed. He advised since it was the rainy season that we do it shortly after his recommendation (Sep 2018) - which we did.
As well, we knew the pool building folks were going to destroy the grass on the construction access side of the house and sod replacement was not part of their remit. Construction began with the removal of the lanai.
During the deconstruction/construction time frame, Leo stopped by our home on several occasions to check on the status of the replanted Podocarpus.
For reasons we cannot explain, deconstruction started on 30 November 2018 and was completed last week.
We contacted Leo and Monna (best way is via email) and the next thing we knew the first crew to replant the Podocarpus, put the rock back in place, run water lines, and fix some draining issues caused by the construction was done on one day and done professionally. I watched the crew (as I have pool brushing duties for the next 30-days) and they were either directly supervised by Leo and/or he left a very reliable person in charge when he had to leave for a while. The crew worked hard and very importantly, worked safely completing their work on Friday. Due to the extension of the depth of the lanai we came up three (3) Podocarpus’s short; however, Leo has access to three mature plants to match what we already have. Keep in mind we saved a great deal of money and time by following Leo’s suggestion to remove these plants early, maintain them, and when it came to putting them back – it was done and it worked!
One exceptional thing Leo had done, he knew I was using the company that initially installed our curbing to replace the curbing along the lanai and where it was damaged during construction. Leo laid "weed protection fabric" down for the Podocarpus and ensured there was enough wherein it could be rolled back, the trench dug for the new curbing, the fabric put in the trench and then the curbing being poured. Leo also recognized that the two Pygmy Date Palms were too close to the new lanai and moved them the two feet required.
On Monday, as Leo advised, his sod laying team showed up early in the morning and prepped the area requiring the new sod; then Leo showed up with the sod and it was laid down. Where the curbing already exists (NOT in a straight line) and did not require replacement the new sod was custom installed i.e., the sod follows the curbing exactly. Leo also found some sprinkler issues that needed to be addressed and he simply addressed them and let me know of the issue.
Bottom line, Leo stayed with his estimated costs and he and his Team did an Outstanding and Professional job. Based on his work we have elected to hire the Yard Men to do our landscaping on a monthly basis.

This company has been such a pleasure to work with! My husband and I have been trying to clean up our yard from the moment we moved in. Needless to say it’s been about 7 years and we couldn’t see the end in sight. This company stepped up and brought us everything and everyone we needed to make this happen in hours! Thank you Leo, Mona, Nathan and the crew for doing this for us!
