I go to this dump by Gibsonton fairly regular. First, watch the vehicle behind you so that person doesn’t creep up on your scale while he’s waiting his turn. 2. Be prepared for stinkiness, disgusting slime on the floor and a lot of ugly Turkey Vulcers and those nasty seagulls. Usually the wait isn’t long but every so often it can be. The guy in the front loader points to where he wants you to go then you get out ; careful of the slippery slime on the floor) you toss your trash in to the huge trash pile, Drive down to get back on the scales and pay, then of you go. The dump is very disgusting but at the same time, it’s a neat place to go. You get to see what other people are throwing away, you see all the ugly nasty birds, you get to smell the foul stench which is the dump and it makes you appreciate that you aren’t in a third world country with this stuff outside your little shanty. If you haven’t been, go. Take the wife and kids so everyone can appreciate not being in a third world country.

It’s nice that Hillsborough County Waste Management has the automated collection bins and trucks, but for two weeks now, my one and only bin is not emptied. Doesn’t seem like it’s that hard for an automated claw to grasp the bin and empty the entire contents into the truck.

Easy. “Clean”. No traffic coming in but saw a few cars while here. If you’re dumping stuff and are just a local resident you need photo id and your tax assessment for your house.

You also need to go to the entrance off of Powell RD on 41 or you will be redirected there.

    Hope this helps!

Today, 11/19, 2022, I went to throw rubbish at this company today. A person of color who was at the front desk refused to receive my card. He told me that it was cash only, I believe he gets paid in cash to keep it, he didn't want to receive my card and when I was watching someone else erase it for him on a card, but with me he took the money for him just to warning this is not correct.

Friendly staff and well organized site. Never had an issue visiting this location

I go here more often than I'd like but it's worth mentioning and remembering that Saturday is not the day you want to make the trip.
Waiting in line is no fun and slow people are even less fun...but waiting in a long line of slow people definitely takes the no fun cake.
    Noted.
    Lesson learned.

I'm on my way there now,but I spoke to Teah, sorry if I spelt her name wrong, she was very nice, answered the phone promptly, and explained what to to do when I get there. Very nice, . It's a Great day when someone answers the phone, and you don't have to select 8 different prompts then get put on hold. Wish me luck.

I showed up with my tax property paper and i.d. I was told I had to pay 32 dollars. Cash. I asked why it wasn't on the website? She said she didn't know. But, I had to pay the money in cash. It was general garbage. I showed her my tax papers through my car window. She was very adamant about paying in cash. When I called the phone number on the website. The lady informed me I was correct. She was super nice. I only needed my property papers and i.d. i was half way to the airport at that time. Gibsonton location

Old paint, bad UPS, and broken printer all gone now. Don't have to wait on monthly hazardous waste now for paint and batteries. You also don't have to be a home owner. Just show your license for hazardous and electronics. Friendly efficient check-in person. Long wait. Expected on a Saturday.

It is always a pleasure. Staff are friendly and make droping off boxes super easy.

So glad this place is not far from my home. It's super convenient to load up the car and drive up to the solid waste disposal area. Just show them your ID and ad valorem tax sheet, tell them what you are disposing of, and they will tell you which bin(s) to use. I've taken TVs, paint, car batteries, wood, drywall, bricks, cardboard, bags of trash, etc. Usually there is no wait and I'm in and out in no time. On the weekend (they are closed on Sunday), it can take upwards of 20 minutes to wait in line before getting to the bins. Overall, a very easy process, a clean facility (for a dump), and friendly staff. Well done Hillsborough County!

100% of the time the attendants are very helpful (if you’re kind and actually ask questions). Never had an issue dropping anything there! Pro tip: try to go during the week, weekends can have wait times over an hour. But week days you can be in & out within minutes.

This used to be my go to location for years for our company to bring unwanted items to. The past few weeks it has been all downhill and reversed all trust and likeness I've had towards this location. 2 weeks straight they were not open to anyone but county workers, this week they are open to regular customers, but only if you have a "dump trailer".
I was waiting for over 30 minutes for them to open this morning, the lady working saw me sitting there, never once came over to inform me, just waited for me to wait 35 minutes for them to officially open and then reject me. I liked this location due to how close it is to our area of operation, but the lack of empathy, no customer service (she was horribly rude, couldnt provide any number I could call in case i wanted to verify if they were accepting normal customers) and extremely long wait times when they are rarely open is unbelievable. She couldn't even provide a reason why I couldn't dump but a dump trailer could. I was the only one waiting for them to open, its not like the extra 3 minutes it wouldve taken for me to hand unload my half-filled trailer would have held anyone up.

    Go elsewhere.

Bring your lunchbox because you will have to manually unload your truck, and those trash bins get super heavy after the 3rd row; there is no loading dock. 😢 😭

    Excellent customer service. Very professional.

Over an hour to process 23 vehicles. They forget our taxes pay for this.

Be aware, if you do not live there but are working in the county they charge $140 per ton!!! Insanely high cost!

Line was super long. Very inefficient check in, taking 5 minutes per car or truck. Go to Shelon Road for faster service.

I thought it was really organized and easy to navigate. Each bay has a number and it's separated out nicely. Went on a Saturday and no one was there so it was right in right out, super easy

The staff were friendly and explained clearly where each item needed to go. However, they didn’t assist with carrying heavy items—possibly due to the handling policy.

First time going very easy to navigate. It’s kept clean (for a trash site) and orderly. You’ll need your ad valorem tax printout and a photo ID to be able to dump any material. You can find and print that on the Hillsborough County website. Once you pull up someone will verify your documents and ask you what items your bringing. You will then be directed to the area that material is being sorted.
