General Contractor reviews in Largo, Florida

We used DUCS for our primary bathroom remodel in a 100+ year old home. In just over 3 months from initially reaching out to DUCS, Joe and the team were able to complete a beautiful remodel. We were very impressed with the subcontractors that DUCS used - including plumbing, electrical, carpentry, and flooring - everyone was incredibly professional and clearly passionate about their work. Joe has a very relaxed demeanor and is open to ideas and working with homeowners to find the best and right solution (without cutting any corners). We are happy we picked DUCS for this job and are very much enjoying our remodeled bathroom.

If you're looking for a dependable and reliable contractor that returns calls and does a excellent job then Down Under Construction is the right company for you. From dropping a wall and installing an I-beam in the new remodel kitchen to installing an 26K generator to keep the house fully lite up during storm issues.

Joe is great. Super responsive, very trustworthy. He has stuck with us through a lot of decision making and delays and he moves at a fast pace- which we all need right now! Highly recommend. We will be using him for our second phase as well.

I use Joe Romano for ALL my construction jobs at Down Under Construction because he is simply the best in the business.

Beautiful work, honest, always accessible to clients needs & fair prices.

Had toilet leaks from Condo unit above more than once & it smelled of urine in my guest bathroom ceiling so the drywall had to come out, the cavity cleaned & disinfected then new drywall installed.

It was textured & painted. No more smell!!!

Could not be happier. Like new!

And Joe got there quickly to repair & finish job.

He previously renovated my entire condo including kitchens & baths. Another fabulous job

No matter if it is a small or large job, it will be, without a doubt, done right, done beautifully.

Thanks Joe! I really appreciate you!

Our condo in Florida was destroyed by water and mold, and we were desperately in need of a construction company to rebuild it. We do not live in Florida, so doing this remotely was daunting. After a recommendation, we contacted Joe at Down under construction. Our experience from the beginning to end has been nothing but fantastic. We were contacted through email, text, and FaceTime all along the way to view what was going on. Any questions we had were answered promptly and thoroughly. Most importantly, after our final payment was made, we had been assured once we returned to our condo in person that any punch item details would be corrected. Within four days of our first trip back, Joe had sent someone to our condo to take care of all of the little adjustments we needed. It is obvious that Joe, Melissa, and the entire crew are passionate about what they do and they care about their end results. We were so afraid that we could be taken advantage of doing this from long distance, but we had absolutely no reason to worry. Hopefully we will never need to go through this again, but we would strongly recommend this construction company to anyone in the Clearwater/Pinellas County area!

After the storm Joe and his crew answered our call for help without hesitation, and we are so incredibly grateful. From day one, Joe was fair, honest, and professional.

During a time that so many people were being taken advantage of by predatory or unlicensed contractors, we truly feel blessed to have had Joe leading our project. As just one example: we paid over 80% less for demo compared to neighbors with the same scope of work who contracted with a servepro type company — and our crew was far more professional and efficient. It meant everything to know we were being treated fairly during such a difficult time.

While no project is ever completely issue-free, the few concerns we did flag were handled immediately. Joe was always communicative and available to discuss and being able to communicate directly with his crews also helped keep the process moving smoothly.

Beyond the communication and fairness, the work itself turned out beautiful.

We wouldn’t hesitate for a second to work with Joe again on any future renovations or builds. Highly, highly recommend!

Duc Builder’s team were fantastic to work with! From start to finish, they handled our home remodel with skill, efficiency, and professionalism. Joe, the owner, was always easy to communicate with, and I never once heard the word “no” from him—he always found a solution to any challenge. Joe made us feel at ease during the remodel process. The project was completed on time, and the quality of work exceeded our expectations. Thank you Joe and team for making our Florida dream home a reality. It is truly beautiful! If you’re looking for a reliable and skilled contractor, I highly recommend this company!

If you’re reading this you must be looking for a contractor. Look no further! We hired DUC (Joe) to do a garage conversion to a master bedroom with an en suite with an addition of a laundry room and a one car garage. It came out amazing! I couldn’t be happier with the work and the professionalism of all his crew. Joe made sure that everything ran smoothly. he came by the site just about every day or he called. He always let us know what was next and when it was going to start, and the crew always showed up. That in itself is amazing along with the quality of work. He also had some great ideas along the way. Any issues that came up were addressed immediately. Joe and his crew deserve a lot more than five stars! You definitely won’t be disappointed hiring DUC, (Joe) Thank you everyone for the amazing job you did!

What I appreciate most is that they explained options without overselling. Good value, careful work, and they fixed small extras without making it a big deal.

Fast reply, showed up when promised, and handled both demolition and install cleanly. Been using them for multiple projects and the quality stays consistent.

They renovated my bathroom and kitchen cabinets in one go, no delays, no mess left behind. Work looks great and the quote was exactly what I paid.

Solid, reliable service in Largo. They’re quick to reply, clean up after the job, and deliver great value. No surprise they’re rated 5.0 for quality and responsiveness.

They’ve handled everything from kitchens to flooring, paint and electrical for me. Work quality and responsiveness are top‑notch, and the price always feels fair.

Had a great experience with them renovating my kitchen. The work came out exactly how I wanted, and everything looks solid and well done. They were easy to work with and actually cared about doing it right. I’d recommend them!

Great work. Always on time. Got the job done!

I had the pleasure of working with Danny for a complete renovation of my home, including a full gut and remodel of the kitchen, two bathrooms, and drywall work throughout. From start to finish, the process was seamless. His knowledge and skill were evident in every step of the project. He truly doesn’t take shortcuts, and his craftsmanship speaks for itself.

It’s clear this is second nature to him; he works with the ease and precision of someone who has mastered his trade. Every task was handled in a timely manner, and he always came prepared with the right tools and a clear plan for the day. I couldn’t be happier with the results and would highly recommend him to anyone looking for a reliable, skilled, and trustworthy contractor
