Today was my first lawn treatment with Barefoot Grass and I was impressed with the technician Dean. He was very knowledgeable and answered my questions patiently.

Unfortunately, we just “fired” this company. We were customers of Greener Futures before Barefoot took over. What was once a beautiful lawn has turned into weeds and dead patches. We gave it one-two months for them to turn it around. We called twice for additional treatments, and when the last tech came out he told us our lawn was “sun damaged”. You can’t make this stuff up. Best thing was that when I called them to terminate our service, the gentleman on the phone never asked why and didn’t seem to care at all that he was losing customers. At least I didn’t feel bad for taking my business elsewhere after that.
Edited to add: if you still aren’t convinced, you can look them up on Yelp to see more of their “work”. -
My lawn looks great!
Barefoot Grass is a great company, with integrity. They are very professional, organized, honest and I trust them! That is hard to find now a days. -
He always does a great job, (1)by bringing the key with him every time, (2) Making me aware of what he’s doing and what chemical is being put down (3) Afterward, He has a conversation with me and Remind me to water. Most of all, he shares his story of overcoming and I’m always giving him Bible materials To continue on his journey. I welcome his conversations as well and sometimes I give a donation..

Gladiator Sod spoke highly of Barefoot Grass, so I gave a call. From the moment I contacted them, they made everything pleasant & easy. Joe, our service provider was great! He accommodated my schedule. He informed me of the treatment process & estimated length of time to expect results. He offered great advice to questions I had. Our services started on an extremely hot day, but Joe remained cool, kind, & considerate from start to finish. Thanks, Joe! Keep up the great work!

The difference between the appearance my lawn and my neighbor’s lawn was huge. My lawn looked so much better than theirs that they asked us specifically who was doing the care for us! They made the change to Barefoot.

Prompt service when requested. I trust Barefoot grass to protect my big investment in this new turf.

Response to their feedback.... Why would I want to have you inspect my lawn and discuss it now that I have cancelled my service. Shouldn't that have been done the multiple times that I called about the status of my yard? I pay for a service to keep up my lawn looking green and weed free. I provide watering and the sun does its job. Just look at the other reviews and they say the same thing about the new company and people's lawn going downhill. Once again, a typical response of excuses!
**Very Disappointed**
Barefoot Grass took over from Greener Futures, and ever since, my lawn has gone downhill fast. I used to have a lush, weed-free yard, but now it’s full of weeds. Every time they come out, there’s always an excuse — something about the type of weed, watering, or some other technical explanation. I have a fully working irrigation system, so watering isn’t the problem.
I finally canceled my service — why should I keep paying for something that clearly isn’t working? Just read the other reviews and you’ll see I’m not the only one having this issue. The previous company had my lawn looking great, but under Barefoot Grass, it’s been nothing but frustration and disappointment. -
This company merged or bought out my last company. Prices went up, treatment frequency went up, quality went down. My side yard had green grass growing, not high quality grass, but green and growing and they killed it leaving bare earth. They killed large patches of the same grass in my back yard. I did not raise issue of it since it’s in the back yard and nobody but me sees it. I never had issues with the last company. The weeds were treated, and the grass kept growing. This company has had issues at my home from the start. Not all grass is St Augustine. Fix your mixture to allow other grasses to grow so you don’t kill peoples lawn. Two price raises in a year, leaving my gate open and killing my grass. I’m done.

When we were with Greener Futures my lawn never looked so good. It looks like Barefoot even added a photo of our lawn right after they moved us over. (That was a little sketchy). One year and $700 later my lawn is covered in brown spots and chinch bugs. I would see the technician “racing” through my yard as if he was late for another appointment. I called a few times for a retreatment and even had a senior tech come out to say that they couldn’t do anything more for my lawn because it was too hot. (We live in Florida!) Well that was $70/month down the drain😮. My feedback would be for your techs to take their time, treat the lawn as if it was their own and don’t rush. There is absolutely no reason or excuse my lawn should look this way. Moving on…

I have taken great care of my yard and turned it to a tropical oasis originally hired APL to handle pest control and weed control. I have zoysia grass that is sensitive to some of these chemicals if not properly applied. The operator of APL knew that and took great care not to burn my sod. APL eventually merged with barefoot grass that has turned the beautiful grass that I once had into one filled with various different weed as zoysia is slow to recover and it is even more difficult during a drought. I notified the customer service on May 3 after my last treatment in the end of April of the effects, and this was around the time of another merger. I attempted to email the photos of the results, but the files were too large and my email couldn’t send, so I was provided a cell phone number which I did send those photos to and I was assured that somebody would be at my house that following Tuesday, so I took off of work. Late in the day, I called and was told that somebody couldn’t be out that day and I would be notified when somebody could. Which never happened. I’ve been reached out by the company assessing my satisfaction and trying to sell me more products. I’m currently not inclined to pay my existing balance due to the cost of my taking off of work And the potential of having to re-sod areas of my yard or slowly pull all the weeds that have now infiltrated my lawn now. They did send somebody out 40 days later who left a note saying that my yard was just heat stressed Even though I specifically asked to be here. I was assured me that they would get A specialist out here when I didn’t agree with his assessment. I graduated from a vocational program with a level five certification and nursery operation and landscape management so I am fairly knowledgeable although I have been working as an army medic for 17 years. I still haven’t heard from them in a week and will be paying my existing balance, firing them, and seeking whatever action needs to be taken to get my yard replaced or fixed via the Better Business Bureau or the courts if need be. This is no longer a small company that has Knowledgeable and specialized employees that care about customer service. I would recommend taking your business elsewhere.

i would not recommend. I originally used APL to treat my lawn. It was beautiful! I had an issue with some areas of crab grass. Otherwise, the grass looked great! After APL merged with Barefoot Grass, my lawn started to look bad and has become progressively worse. The photos show what it looks like today. Large areas taken over by weeds and dead spots throughout. Disappointing. I reported this to Barefoot. They assured me they would send someone out right away. The tech that came out left a note stating “I was here about a month ago. Those areas were dead then and this is the damage you are seeing.” Yes, I am aware. This has all happened after Barefoot took over. There were no options suggested for improvement.

I signed up for their service last year (2025) in early spring. Since the first treatment. I noticed a considerable difference in the amount of weeds as well as the overall health of my lawn. For the rest of 2025, my lawn continued to improve. The only issue is the back lawn had a few more stubborn weeds. But but the end of 2025. They were mostly gone. I signed up again with them for 2026. Overall, They are very easy to get in touch with and the team that treats the yard has always answered all my questions.

I wasn't home when Joe came to do the yard. But he left paperwork with telling me how often I should water. And not letting pets on the yard until dry. Found that very helpful. Can't wait to see the change in my yard

We had beautiful green lush grass until this company took over Greener Futures. This is what our lawn now looks like after paying $50 per month. The supervisor came out for an assessment and this is what our lawn looks like now. Added a photo to show how great the yard used to look. Weeds everywhere and our grass is half dead on our entire lawn. If you want to keep your lawn nice, don't hire this company.

Scott was very informative, knowledgeable, and professional when he came for our initial application for Barefoot Grass services. We're optimistically encouraged moving forward. Nice job!!

Barefoot took over from a prior company and I continued to deal with them. Since that time my lawn has gone from good to dead! I have called them several times and complained and have been told multiple things. Not enough water, too much water and bugs. I have a sprinkler system that is always on and yet I now have a dead lawn. My neighbors do not. They don't want to take responsibility for it either. Terrible service.
I have explained to them that I have a sprinkler system and while it seems to work, my neighbors do not and hteir lawn is fine. -
Having Barefoot grass service my yard for over 8 yrs now and they have exceeded my expectations the whole time! My lawn and landscape is lush, green and bug free. Dean and the other techs that visited my home over the years are always professional and courteous!

I previously used Greener Futures and always had a great experience. I was never notified that they were bought out by Barefoot Grass. They simply showed up one day and began treatments without informing me, and they also raised my price without any notice. I was assigned a different technician who didn’t seem knowledgeable, interested, or willing to answer my questions. I was already hesitant because of their reviews, but I decided to give them a chance.
Now my lawn is dead. I have bare spots, insect damage, and fungus—this was one of the best lawns in the neighborhood, and it’s now destroyed. Their treatments completely ruined it. -
I’m extremely disappointed with my experience with Barefoot Grass. Their treatment killed my healthy St. Augustine lawn, and trying to get help afterward was even worse. They never answered my calls or returned them. When I finally reached someone in their call center, the technician and staff were rude and dismissive.
Not only was I overcharged, but now I have to replace all my grass at my own expense, and the company refuses to take responsibility or offer any support. It feels like just another big corporation taking advantage of regular customers. I truly miss the quality and care I used to receive from APL. -
Yard has never looked so bad! It was a beautiful green yard when I had the family company doing them barefoot bought them out said nothing would change. I agreed and yard is terrible now. Rick just says it’s not enough water, the soil
Is bad.. this and that. Had others tell me it’s bugs. Which they should be treating but they won’t fess up to it so now I’m gonna replace half my yard cause of this!! Don’t recommend them unless you want your nice grass to turn bad.
