Stay away. I've been having problems with my lawn since the end of June. They don't care you'll be sorry if you use them, my lawn still looks terrible.thy kill your lawn and don't make it right. They will be taken to court 1 1/2 years and they killed my yard. Tell me that's green and healthy did is a year and a half old. I don't think the pga golf courses would be ok with this work. I will contact them. Rick Richard and Mike thinks this lawn looks Good you might get lucky for a little while but your luck will end. A picture of my lawn after getting a new company 8/2023

I want to acknowledge the professionalism, courtesy, and helpfulness of our technician, Hilfred Spence.
He patiently spent the time needed to answer questions, provide details about the treatments and ongoing strategy for caring for our landscaping, and just generally being friendly and patient in the hot Florida sun while basically being held hostage by people who know practically nothing about landscaping or tree care.
He was great, and TruGreen, though a bit pricey when you add up all the services, has met their commitment to keep our yard mosquito and pest free, and take care of our lawn, trees, and shrubs.
Thanks! -
True Green was on time and courteous. Answered my question satisfactory. Except that my lawn was not looking as green as you advertise. Now is looking a lot better. Thank you for your service.

Note to self: read the bad reviews before paying thousands of $$ for a service.
I usually try not to leave reviews unless I have something good to say. I want private businesses to thrive! But this time, after my experience with TruGreen and being yelled at by their manager Tina on the phone, I think it is necessary to warn people about this company. And now that I’m reading the poor reviews from the past year+, I’m realizing the mistreatment and terrible costumer service is the norm in this company. They’re probably going to copy/paste their template response on my review to have me email them my concerns but I’ve already tried to reason with them and only got yelled at as a result.
When I called to start my service in July of 2022, they offered me a one-year package (almost $2,000) that would “keep my lawn green”, plus tree and shrub. 9 months later they charge me for a service "because I ran out of applications". They did say the package included 11 applications, but they said those would take me through a full year of service. What do I know? They are supposed to be the experts, so I signed up! Turns out they used up all the applications in 8 months, which I would not have a problem with if the lawn had gotten healthier and greener. The reality is that the lawn has never looked deader and I’m worried we may have to replace some of it.
Months ago I called to simply ask them to schedule the next service at a time that I would be home so I could talk to them and show them some concerns. They showed up almost a week after the scheduled day and time, when I wasn't home, so they called and told me the dead spot I was concerned about would recover. Well, it hasn't recovered and it's grown exponentially. Now that I told them I want to cancel the services, they offered to bring a supervisor to evaluate my lawn, but they profusely refuse to schedule his visit at a time that I’ll be home. They will come when they can and the only say I have is to cancel it if the time isn’t convenient. The manager wouldn’t even listen or try to take my availability. All she did was yell about how I didn’t use my service calls earlier. I understand I’m not their only costumer and they are busy, but I have never had a company avoid personal interaction so badly. All I see is the flags they leave when they supposedly perform the services. I have yet to see someone’s face or even see any improvement on my lawn. But according to Tina, it is all my fault for not calling them more often and for watering 15 minutes/day less than I should. -
Caleb explained everything to me. Lawn isn’t looking good at all in the front and he is working on figuring out what is wrong.
3 months later the lawn still doesn’t look lush. The plugs are not growing out. They are growing up but not out. The lawn needs help. It’s been several months. -
Do not believe anything they say if they knock on your door! Someone showed up at my house and after telling them repeatedly that I was not interested, they offered me a no-commitment contract with the first treatment half off, for $49. I agreed and the service happened a few days later. The guy even gave me his number for “personalized service.”
They charged me $149 for the service. They took the liberty of adding in a $100 bug treatment that I did not agree to. Why would I? I hire a pest control company for continuous management of bugs. I reached out to the representative that gave me his personal number. I could literally see that the message was read and totally ignored.
Do yourself a favor and hire someone who won’t steal your money and lie to you. -
The mosquito application tech, actually the tech who came before also, who did the fertilizer and a couple other treatments, both came did their service, very thorough, answered my questions, didn't make me feel rushed, just explained what they were doing and how. Its been a bit more expensive for a year service than I had hoped. But honestly, I just bought the house and the yard needs alot of help. Just talking with the techs and Al who signed me up and helped me with my sprinkler system( literally came over, showed me how to use my system, replaced ( and made me learn how to do it) heads and tips on the sprinkler. So I guess im saying, for me in my situation, I have definitely received my money's worth! I feel way more confident in my likelihood to have a great yard. I really like being able to go on to the app to see where they are at through the day, when I have scheduled service, so I can put the dog up when I need to not before. Definitely, made a believer out of a somewhat skeptic.

Johnnie W was servicing my lawn today. He was very nice To speak with professional, personable and knowledgeable. and he asked me how my Lawn was doing and we talked about it and I told him how great my lawn looks now I was skeptical that the outcome would be worth what I paid for it, but after only a few months, I have really seen results… However, I don’t have a sprinkler system so once it stops raining here in Florida time will tell if I’m gonna need one to make True green Application continue To make my lawn, look this good!

Dear TruGreen Customer Service,
I am writing to dispute the bills I have been receiving for services I did not authorize. I had previously called and spoken with a supervisor in your office, making it clear that I did not want services to continue due to poor performance on dollar weeds and shrubs.
Since your calls are recorded, I ask that you review them. I specifically instructed your team to stop services until further notice. That instruction should have been sufficient, and I should not be charged for work I did not approve.
It is unreasonable to expect me to pay for services that were neither authorized nor effective. This practice appears to be misleading to customers, and I ask that you immediately stop billing me for these charges, adjust my account, and confirm in writing that no further services will be performed without my explicit consent.
Thank you for your prompt attention to this matter. -
After being their customer for 4 years, my lawn got ruined by their lack of service. Once your lawn is bad, they won’t fix it—even when they warranted to me that they would do so when I first started with them. They are a very bad company to do business with. If you want your lawn looking good, stay away from this company.

Just look at the photos. Been with them for close to a year after brand new st. Augustine. Complaints and conversations led to nothing. No follow up...Just have weeds and brown grass. One conversation in August..they questioned my watering rates😮 Don't waste your money!!!!

Stay away from this company. They charge my mom twice in 1 month and service was suppose to be every 5 weeks . They refuse to reimburse her the money when we told them she wanted to cancel service. They are not trustworthy and try to take advantage of people .

I’ve had an incredibly frustrating experience with TruGreen. Despite multiple calls requesting help with my lawn turning yellow and developing more dead spots, no one has followed up or provided a solution. When I finally got through to an associate named Chris, instead of addressing the issue, he tried to upsell me on additional services. When I made it clear I wasn’t interested, he abruptly hung up on me.
This is unacceptable customer service. I expected professionalism and support, not sales pressure and rudeness. My lawn is worse than when I started, and I’m left with no answers and no accountability from TruGreen. I do not recommend their services. -
Hired trugreen purely to get rid of sand spurs and was very adamant that they were my only concern. Called multiple times over 4-5 months to let them know I still have them. Finally today I'm informed that they can not treat for sand spurs. Months (December to april) of time and money wasted.

Zero stars. Since TruGreen acquired and took over the lawn care previously here my lawn has gone downhill. Constant weeds. Fungus. Dead spots. It took a valiant effort to get them to try and fix it. I am pretty sure for a couple of treatments they accidentally did my neighbors lawn and that led to weed growth that’s now difficult to get under control. I paid $70,000 to have my lawn done and needed a lawn care I could trust. It’s not TruGreen. I’ll do it myself.
Update: TruGreen, you see my name and if you want to talk look up my account and call me. But as usual, they want me to do the work.
DO NOT HAVE THEM SERVICE YOUR LAWN -
I am so angry with this lawn company. Our contract is to cut the grass weekly during the summer and they have cut it one time in over a month. I have called multiple times to complain. They have crews that say they have cut the grass but we have witness them driving to our house, sitting outside for a few minutes, and driving away. Will be expecting a full refund.

Don't waste your money. They don't actually look at your lawn and assess what's going on. They just spray or spread whatever they have on the truck, put the little sign in the yard and move on the next house. And when you do get a manager to come out and look at the yard, he invariably will blame you for whatever's wrong. The biggest thing I did wrong was not cancel their service sooner.

After I reported that I wasn't seeing the results of having a lawn company reflected in how my lawn looks. Trugreen sent out a tech to analyze and treat the areas of concern.

I used their service for 2 years, and the yard was not that good. When I closed my account, sales person offered me discount which I denied. later they performed service without my knowledge, and charged bill. When I requested them to remove the charge and CANCEL ACCOUNT FOREVER, they never did it. Everytime I call, they say they have removed and again someone call for due amount. They never transfer to the manager.
Those Sales person tries to trick you for service and keep bothering with many calls. Don't get any service from this company. -
Started service with Tru Green for lawn care (fertilizer, pesticide, shrubs, aeration, fungicide for sod), grass has been having a lot of dry patches, hopeful with this new service provider issues will be resolved. So far Alec sales rep was very professional communicating promptly, straightforward pricing.Great communication with emails when service is being provided.Company is overall very professional.Looking forward to my lawn being restored.Would highly recommend.
Update 10/15/25
Lawn is looking great, excellent customer service. -
Don’t use this company. We have been using them for about 5 months. This is what our yard looks like. We have complained to every single person we could and nothing is being done to help us. Our yard has slowly been dying and is almost completely gone now. The manager came out a month Ago and said he was going to plug the whole yard. Never did. Since then. They’ve sent other technicians to do free services which are not helping. Our yard is truly worse. We have tried escalating this problem to the highest departments and they just don’t care and don’t respond. Save yourself the headache and go with a more professional honest company. Our yard needs completely redone.
ETA: after submitting a complaint to the better business bureau and threatening legal action and requesting the entire yard be resodded, tru green did finally respond and our yard has been repaired. We came to a resolution of them fixing the lawn. I do commend that so I’ve updated my review to maintain an honest review of our experience. I still can’t give them more than 2 stars as we should have never had to get to this point.
