The crew did a good job of removing the tree. On the downside, our concrete driveway is badly stained. Perhaps pressure washing would remove the stains. We had just pressure wash the entire driveway 1-2 months ago. Help!

Kevin responded promptly to my request for a quote to trim one large oak tree in our front yard that was scraping the roof.
He gave a reasonable within market quote , arrived when he said and did an excellent job on the tree. The tree is still beautiful and he balanced it very well with all of the branches and limbs he had to remove. And the debris was removed within 1 and 1/2 days. Kevin was easy to communicate with and made it all simple. Thank you, Kevin!

The tree work itself was done decently but the customer service and turnaround time was very poor. The stump was supposed to be grinded within a week following the tree removal per the contract..... it took 5 weeks and seemingly endless calls to actually get the job finished. Each time I called I would hear "Let us look into it and call you back" but never actually received a call back which was incredibly frustrating. Although the price was better than the rest, it was not worth the headache of chasing them down.

Be warned. The people who came to my house were very rude and misogynistic. To make a story short, my mom hired a tree service after a tree fell partially between me and my neighbors property. The people who showed up refuse to listen to anything or even talk to my mother. This is with them just randomly showing up at 9:00 in the morning with no call no warning and parking their big truck on my thin concrete driveway cracking it. I had to take time off from work and come to her house and repeat exactly what she was asking. It wasn't until I, a man talked to them that they move their truck and finally stop blocking our driveway. The other issue they did not finish their job. I asked them to finish with cutting back the stump and leave a truck load of mulch neither happened. They just disappeared and refused to return my phone calls. I know this is sounds really picky but I don't want mixed mulch. I already had my tree ground by them that same day. there's no reason they couldn't just leave a truckload. They have caused more damage than just the individual tree. There were several pine trees that were not hit when the tree fell but when the company came through they ended up cutting the large limbs and not spacing things properly destroying the two trees and some pipework. I watched a dude cut a tree limb that was probably over two tons. He cut the limb while he was underneath it. When the limb finally let go it almost hit him and two other workers. This is unacceptable, I've worked in lawn and landscaping for 25 years and have never seen anything that stupid or reckless. DO NOT USE THIS SERVICE HALF OF THE PEOPLE SHOWED UP WITHOUT A SHIRT ON AND WE'RE FLYBY NIGHT CONTRACTORS THEY HIRED THAT MORNING.

Horrible. They damaged our property letting our big oaks fall to the ground. Broke pavers, the curbs and our sprinkler system. Even took down a wrong tree. Spoke to the owner and he was a joke. Call someone else.

I highly recommend A Sun State Tree Service. I called to get a quote and literally within the hour the estimator was here with a very reasonable quote. Our job was put on the books and three days later they were here . These guys were top notch professionals and how they handled everything from the time they arrived to the time they left ~ was awesome. The estimator is a great guy (Jeff.aka Porkchop) and listened to all our concerns. We have neighbors close next-door and the trees were right on the property line so I couldn’t help but worry about their property….more so than ours. They left a very small footprint and the cleanup was impeccable.

A storm rolled in and they took a 30 minute break to eat and then they were right back at it. By the time they left, you could hardly tell they were here except for all the sunshine that was shining on my property..

I wouldn’t use another tree service…..EVER.

I read the previous reviews and I’m certainly glad I didn’t pay any attention to that.

I started off very happy with the tree removal, stump grinding, clean up, and paver installation. I had 3 trees removed and pavers installed on my driveway and porch. Tree service was great. Paver installation was very good but they did not finish the job. I paid $500 extra for pavers to be sealed but a year and a half later I am still waiting. Rick Nellis will not answer my calls or return my texts. I have also left multiple messages at the office.

I have been using A Sun State Trees for about 20 years and have always had outstanding results. They have done a variety of jobs for us, including large tree removal, smaller tree removal, yearly trimming of shrubs, and general landscape maintenance. The most recent job involved trimming branches from several trees and clearing out some overgrown shrubs. As usual, they did a great job. Their price is competitive and they will get the job done correctly, and they always leave the property clean. I can recommend them 100%.

I had a great experience with this company. We had Brett and his crew come and removed 4 trees in our yard. Two large rain trees were leaning into my neighbors yard and we wanted them taken care of before a bad storm. They did an excellent job and cleaned up all the debris. We received a few quotes and Sun State Tree was very reasonable and they were insured. I will definitely recommend them for all tree removal needs.

We've used this company multiple times for both residential and commercial purposes. They are skilled at removing very large trees, especially during major storm damage. However, do not expect them to be cautious with items on your property. While they will remove the tree, they may or may not cause damage in the process. Reading the back of their contract will help you understand why.

Just wanted to show my appreciation to Sun State Tree Service and Salesman,-Jeff, Climber-Raymond, Ground foreman-Chico, and the crew for being there to help me before Hurricane Milton. The team showed up as scheduled, completed the job with pride, and exceeded my expectations. Raymond did an outstanding job leading the show with his technique and Chico ran the ground team efficiently. This is a great team of guys and they are to be commended on their efforts as they are true professionals and an asset to their trade. They took down big oak, a large branch from another tree and some smaller branches from a different tree. I would hire them again in a heartbeat. The guys were incredibly nice and thorough. Their pricing was right on track and even the owner came out and did an inspection before the job was done. The only thing that they didn't do is send out a guy to pick up the mulch that the tree grind grinding service did. That's why four stars instead of 5.

I am completely satisfied with the job from A Sun State Trees. Kevin came out right away and gave me a price on removing a large camphor tree from my front yard. The crew arrived on time and did a fantastic job of removing the tree and cleaning up all the debris. Another Sun State rep came today and ground the stump down. I always go back to A Sun State Trees, Inc because of their fair pricing and their professionalism on the job. A+

Check the Better Business Bureau that says it all. They did eventually complete the work, weeks late. But we were calling constantly…..and it was painful. Had we not paid a deposit would have given up.

I was completely ripped off by A Sun State Tree Service. One of their workers took more than half the payment upfront for yard work, then blocked me and never showed up. When I called the company, they refused to help and the owner, Randy, even hung up on me. Very unprofessional—stay away from this company.

This is the third time I have used Sunstate. There prices are very fair and have recommended them to friends and family. I am usually not at home when they are at my house. When I arrive home the trees are properly trimmed the area has been completely cleaned.

Kevin, from Sun State, came the day I called for a quote. We had several trees overhanging our home and our insurance company suggested having them trimmed or removed. Kevin was friendly, knowledgeable, and professional. He provided suggestions and a quote that was aggressive in comparison to other quotes I received. He even helped me get financial support from my neighbor, who also would be impacted by one of the trees most needing removal. The work was scheduled; the crew arrived at just before nine am showing respect for my neighbors with the noise expected. They were quick, efficient and made arrangements for added professional help for the tree that hung over power lines. It was fascinating watching them work, watching the crane lift the heavy canopy limbs over the power lines dropping them into the street safely. It was interesting watching large branches feed effortlessly into the mulcher and instantly be reduced. The stump grinder came on the final day and quickly ground the stumps leaving us shavings to use for mulch in our yard. Sun State has been around for a long time and showed me why they have succeeded.

Having previously utilized A Sun State Trees for trimming, I contacted sales rep, Chris Ratesi on Tuesday, 8/27/24 to request an estimate to remove the same tree. He showed up about 20 minutes later, provided an estimate in about 5 minutes and offered to schedule removal the next day. Agreeing to the job, the crew showed up, completed to removal, cleaned up any debris from the work and were done in about 90 minutes. We were very pleased with the work done, the communication among the six crew members and the professionalism displayed. Payment was requested at completion of the work with no advance deposit.
With this being my second very positive experience with A Sun State Trees, I would highly recommend them to anyone in need of tree service.

This company is extremely unprofessional. A worker quoted us for a job, took a large upfront payment, and then vanished. The company refused to stand behind their own employee—avoid this company at all costs.

Sun State tree does great work!! I have used them 3 times for various projects and have recommended them to my neighbors! Sedric and his crew are fast, polite and very careful while trimming even the largest oak trees I have on my property. Highly recommend them to anyone!

They dealed with some huge trees on my property some as high as 70 ft plus.They got in and just plain got it done.Everyone was great and I thank them much.Jeff in Orange City area
