Kevin, the sales rep was friendly and knowledgable. Brett and his team followed exactly what we wanted trimmed without damaging our lawn and underground sprinkler system. The team worked efficiently and cleaned up all debris. The price was reasonable and the quality of work was exceptional.

Can't speak on their tree work, but if you're looking to buy firewood here, DON'T. They're well advertised as having "seasoned firewood". I bought a half a truck load in preparation for camping, and it is SOAKED. Some of this stuff is so green it still has living leaves on it. So much for a nice fire. So much for being able to cook anything. False advertising and wet firewood pretty much ruined my trip. Buyer beware, if you get firewood here check it to make sure it wasn't chopped down yesterday.

Dino and his crew were awesome. They did a great job. Super efficient, friendly and really loved their work. Our sales guy Troy was awesome to work with as well. Thanks for another great job.

Update.
Sunshine dropped a part of the tree on my trailer boat trailer and broke it. They promised to come out in fix it the following week. I called them for 2 months and they never returned my call. They never fixed my trailer. If you brake something and promise to fix it. Then fix it. I regret giving you a good review.

A worker from A Sun State Tree Service took my money and disappeared. The company refused to take responsibility, and the owner hung up on me. Completely unprofessional and unethical—avoid at all costs

Where is company ever I own a tree company I use them as a grapple service. The guy was very rude. And did not even know how truck leaves debris on the ground and starts to demand payment before the service is even completed, We called the office and the office manager said that They let their grapple drivers do whatever they want to say I will write a bad review every single day I can about these people do the right thing and come pick up the rest debris or reimburse me, grapple driver says grapple was full, but me and my whole crew could see he could fit the last little bit of debris then he asked should he send another grapple back out to get the rest of the debris when he could’ve fit everything in there,

Also just talked to the driver. He said that he will drop the whole load back on my property if I do a chargeback for it He said he’s been doing this for 30 years at the end of the day. I’ve seen people in this industry longer than him. That means nothing to me. They are inconsiderate

I paid A Sun State Tree Service for an oak tree removal, but they never showed up. After taking my money, they ignored my calls and blocked me. When I reached out to the company, they refused to help. This business is dishonest and I was ripped off—avoid them at all costs.

I was very happy with the tree removal job that was completed. Kudos to Brett for an outstanding job of removing tree professionally. Also, Kudos to team that came today to remove the cut up tree. Very professionally completed.

My neighbor hired this company and told them to cut down part of my tree that was overhanging the road, not her own property. She did not have my permission and neither did this Sun State Tree. This company lied and said they had my permission. They did not! They trespassed onto my property, climbed my tree, cut huge chunks of my tree without my permission, and then lied about having my permission. The tree is healthy and it was not overhanging my neighbor's yard. Do not hire a company that is this unprofessional and dishonest! I had to stop them from cutting the rest of my tree. See the pics of them up in my tree lowering huge branches that they had no right to be up in.

**Buyer Beware** - we had two trees removed, one literally sitting on my neighbor's fence. The first tree was taken down to the ground, a second tree not taken down to the ground. I was also promised a dead tree limb removed from a front tree. The limb remains and we have debris all over the place even though the estimate included debris removal and stump grinding. When I called my salesperson, Kevin I was then yelled at for questioning when everything would be completed and he then forgot the conversation we clearly had about stump grinding and he then demanded $150 per tree in addition to what we have already paid. He continued to yell at me to the point where I had to discontinue the phone call because I couldn't say anything more than "Kevin" and he just continued to yell at me. I have alerted the company about this and still nothing back from them. Our property has come with a LOT of older trees so we have dealt with several tree companies over the years. Never have I dealt with something like this. Completely unprofessional.

I've enjoyed Climbing for a sun state tree for quite a while now! We are a family owned business and as a Climber I treat all of my Jobs every day as if you the customer are a part of my family I want you the customer, to be happy with the best service I can offer to my abilities. These guys continue to rock.i have used them since 2017 doing complete tree removes with a crane over my house to thinning and pruning each year. Travis is a GREAT PROFESSIONAL sales rep. Milton took out a huge oak and all it took once again was a call to Travis and three days later tree was gone. You can't go wrong with these guys. Thanks you Brian.

Fantastic grapple truck services. collected debris from our job site when a local company was jerking us around. The operator is fantastic and stuffed way more into their 60 yard truck than the other company could in their 75 yard. will be using for all of our future work.

They will come out and quote you for cutting down a tree and to grind the stump down but will leave a mess and ask for 150$ to clean it up. When I spoke with Travis about this he said that clean up wasn’t part of the quote. Very bad customer service. Tree was cut weeks ago I had to constantly ask when the stump would be grinded and they finally came weeks later and tore up my yard and left a mess I’m stuck cleaning up. This could have been easily avoided if it was mentioned during the initial quote. Not sure if this is the company’s way to make a quick buck during slow season or if they’re just incompetent of quoting a job properly.

I had them do 3 oak trees on my property, and it was like a horror film. The First day, they totally damaged my fence by leaving logs all on the fence. Then they left for the day, and have yet to respond about fixing my fence, after they told me to email pics so they can fix it. The sales rep came out and took pictures and said he would get it fixed and it’s still not fixed. It’s been a week! The Second day, they knocked out the power on my house. The Third day they did the stump grinding, and did a horrible job. The stumps are still visible above ground. They were supposed to come pick up the mulch debris from the stump grinding, which I paid for extra for I still have tons of stump mulch that I now need to bag up myself. This was definitely a bad experience and I definitely wouldn’t recommend them, unless you want to spend more money to fix there wrong doings. I now need to replace the fence because no one will return my calls after they received their full payment.

we ended up going with a Sun State Tree because we had seen the trucks in the neighborhood. I would never do it again, and I would absolutely caution anybody from using them. We still have a mess in our yard from them after we paid for them to remove all the mulch from grinding the stump. They never completed the job and now they said they underbid it. Like that is our fault?
 It’s been two months and they confirmed today that they have no intention of completing the job that we paid for.  they even went so far as to ask for more money to complete the job. Seems like blackmail to me.

Cedric, Randy and their entire team provided an outstanding experience for us. Our Sylvester Palm and 100’ hedgerow have never looked better. They definitely exceeded our expectations. Thank you for everything.

I had a terrible experience with A Sun State Tree Service. While their crew was working on my neighbor’s yard, I asked for a price on some work for my yard. The worker gave me a quote and asked for half the payment upfront. Wanting the job done quickly and well, I paid him more than half in advance.

After that, the worker stopped answering my calls. When I contacted the company, they said they would talk to the worker and get back to me. The worker later called saying he would come, but then he blocked me and completely disappeared.

When I called the company again to ask for help, they refused to take responsibility, saying it was between me and the worker—even though he was representing their company at the time. To make matters worse, the owner, Randy, hung up on me when I pressed the issue.

This company allowed one of their workers to take my money and run, then washed their hands of it. Completely unprofessional and unethical. I feel scammed and cannot recommend this company to anyone.

This company truly exceeded my expectations, if I was able to give 10 stars I would! Greg from the beginning was Honest, Professional, and, did everything as promised the next day. The entire crew did an amazing job! The climber was meticulous and droped all of the logs right on top of the first ones and did little to no damage to the yard, only what's to be expected when you take down a large Oak Tree. Greg grinded the stump down the same day! Today the guys came out and cleaned everything off my yard. I was nervous about having a bobcat in my yard due to my neighbors experience, their yard was destroyed. They used a bobcat with tires as a Greg said and they did no damage. Worked the same area and had the whole tree out of there in less then 2 hours. I can't tell you how appreciative I am! Cheryl from the office called me first thing this morning to see how they did yesterday, I told her that everything went perfect.
I've had bad experiences with other tree companies but now, I wouldn't use anyone else. if your looking for an honest and on point tree removal company, they are it! Thanks Greg and crew!

I used Sun State Tree Service on November 22, 2025 to remove three pine trees ( 40ft. tall) on my property located in Daytona Beach. It was a great experience, they arrived promptly and the crew was very courteous and pleasant to deal with. I want to also thank Troy for working with me after I had to cancel a appointment.
If you ever need trees removed, I recommend Sun State Tree Service very highly and would definitely use them again.

A Sunstate Tree Service and Kevin’s Team did an awesome job in assisting us in removing our over 25 ft Oak Tree in our backyard. His team was professional, respectful, and treated our property as if it were their our at all times taking the necessary safety measures.
