We hired Suncoast Custom Builders to replace a 2 story deck on a stilt home in Sunset Beach, and we could not be happier with the results! From the beginning, Deborah and Jim were very professional and consistently provided great communication and response times throughout the course of the project. Their pricing was extremely reasonable, especially in comparison to other companies, as they do not subcontract their work (aside from plumbing and electric). We were working with a tight deadline and they delivered flawlessly. They reached out immediately when they found areas of wood rot or concern that needed to be fixed along the way and were completely upfront about any additional costs or delays outside of the quote. Jim's team of workers were also very professional, polite, and respectful of the property. The inspection went smoothly as well. It was an all-around great experience. We have already booked more work with them in the near future. I would highly recommend them to others.

I have been working with Jim Bergfeld since February 2013. I have worked with Jim as a home owner and as a real estate agent. As a real estate agent I have recommended Jim to all of my customers without reservation and Jim has always done a great job and gets repeat business from the customers.

I recommend Jim because he is honest, reliable, trustworthy, and does a great job at a reasonable price. If there's issue Jim will take care of it.

Jim and his crew, two polite young men, Rob and Jody, did a fabulous job on our paver installation. Brand new front patio and walkways that look just beautiful! Two things in particular stand out with this service. First, Jim set a date for install, but when weather delayed things, he didn’t just assume I would figure out there would be a delay just by looking at the sky! He called me and explained the new time table. Doesn’t sound like a big deal except he’s the ONLY contractor who has EVER bothered with such courtesy! Dear St. Pete contractors, your clients aren’t just sitting around at home waiting for you to arrive. We actually have schedules too. I appreciated Jim’s call and setting of expectations so much. Secondly, there was a part of the job that I was not satisfied with. I knew it would be a pain to fix, but I just couldn’t settle for what I was seeing. When I told Jim about it, there was no defending his position or telling me “tough luck.” Nope, out came the saw, the materials, and the excellent results! Also excellent service from Deborah, co-owner and “boss” 🙃 Thanks for a fantastic experience, Suncoast! Two thumbs up and a high recommendation!

Jim and Deborah with Suncoast Custom Builders were an absolute delight to work with! I’ve had a bit of experience dealing with contractors and they were the easiest ones I’ve worked with yet! They were quick, communication was clear and timely. They handled everything needed to get the job done ASAP! They built a custom deck off the house and it came out great! They put in a special door to get to the hose! It was such an easy process... we will definitely be using them for any future home remodeling needs! They do it all!

I spoke with Debbie first about getting someone at my house for an estimate. Luckily she was able to get someone out the next day! Jim was very knowledgeable. He showed me why I was having problems with my side garage door leaking. Then he told me how and what needed to be repaired. I was impressed with the details that he gave me and they made sense to me!
