Kelly and Mary have been a pleasure to work with. From the first contact to then end of the job they were responsive to all communications. They are able tp visualize from verbal descriptions and are able to do a lot with a little information. They offer suggestions and opinions of solutions both practical and aesthetically. They fully prepared us for the scope and time frame of the work to be completed so that we could plan in well in advance for life interruptions. Throughout the length of the contract they were flexible as the job details changed due to both budgetary and structural limitations. We feel that they offer good value not only for the quality of their work but for their professionalism that made what could have been a very stressful series of projects into something that ran smoothly from start to finish.
We plan to work with them again for future projects.

This was my first big remodel - converting and old sunroom into an actual room to make it a better space and stop the water damage that was happening during the Florida summers. Kelly is the GC and he always kept me up-to-date on the progress and when things were happening throughout the process. If I had any concerns, he addressed them immediately. Mary, kept me in the loop about invoicing and provided expertise on design. I think the most important thing is their communication because it is so hard to find. I received other quotes for this project and no one provided a clear direction or answers. I could ask any question, I never felt like I was in the project alone, and the updated sunroom looks amazing and will be solid for years to come.

Kelly and his wife Mary are great! They opened up a wall and installed a beautiful window in my living room and I couldn't be happier with the results. They also did some other things for me, which I appreciate. They were very communicative every step of the way. I highly recommend them for any construction or remodel project.

We began working with Kelly Smoak Construction in the winter of 2020 after our home was flooded by Hurricane Eta. It was a crazy time for us and definitely a first dealing with this type of situation. Immediately Mary and Kelly impressed us with their punctual and thorough response. We chose to work with them and have had zero regrets since that day. In Fact we’ve been quite impressed by their excellent work and organization- appreciative beyond words of how much they have helped us. They provided great ideas and insight along the way and even after completion have been entirely reliable with any further questions or new changes/ideas we now think of. The design help from Mary helped direct me to produce exactly the vision I hoped for and Kelly provided great ideas for structural alterations and appliance placement/improvement. We really appreciated having both of them to work with and lean on as wonderfully insightful resources.

Kelly Smoak and his wife Mary were referred to us by a realtor that we know. Best recommendation ever!! We remodeled 3 bathrooms, a laundry room, re-finished the hard wood floors in a bedroom and re-carpeted the entire upstairs with them and their team. They are extremely professional, reliable and competent. They show up when they say they are going to show up from the beginning of a project until its end. They are extremely enjoyable to even just chat with during the renovations and Mary has fantastic design ideas herself! They give you details and updates at every stage of the project. They even provide you with an itemized quote at the very beginning of the project. The quote was fair, reasonable, and closely matched the final prices, with the only exception being changes we made later in the projects, with updated quotes made available prior to their work. While my husband was the primary point person during all of their work, it was so refreshing having Mary text me frequently to keep me in the loop and make sure we were all on the same page.

Kelly and Mary did an excellent job renovating both bathrooms in my home. They guided us through the process and helped us make tasteful choices for the tile color and fixtures. The quality of the work done was really nice my wife and I are very pleased.

Smoak Construction is delightful. Two words you rarely see together, construction and delightful. They remodeled our bathroom and I would recommend Smoak Construction without hesitation. Mary Smoak runs the front office and helps with selection of materials and design. Kelly handles the construction and sub-contractors One of the many reasons they were great to work with, if they said I’ll be at the house at 8, they showed up at 8. Not the typical experience with FL contractors. Also, no surprises, the job was completed on time and within budget.

My wife and I bought a home in Shore Acres, that needed a little TLC which included completely remodeling two bathrooms. We found Kelly Smoak Construction on NextDoor, and after meeting with Kelly we got a really good vibe. After getting a few other estimates, we decided to go with Kelly Smoak Construction and will note that their estimate was among the lowest. This was our first time doing a remodel, and we really leaned on Mary’s advice for design aspects. I had a few ideas in mind, and Mary brought over several samples at different price points, and we ended up with exactly what we wanted! From demo to completion, the two bathrooms were completed in right around 2 months, which was right on schedule (even with the holidays in-between). Kelly and Mary are communication all-stars and quickly responded to all text messages and phone calls. I would also like to note that we had an unrelated plumbing issue and Kelly and team took care of it, saving us hundreds! As far as price, they work on an allowance model and we came in under budget on one bathroom and only slightly over on the other (we decided to upgrade on the vanity but what they had allowed was spot on). Overall I would highly recommend Kelly Smoak Construction, especially in the Shore Acres/Snell Isle area.

My Husband and I were looking to do remodeling in our house. We contacted several companies and the one we decided to go with was Kelly Smoak Construction Inc. From the minute we contacted them, they were so responsive and professional. We made an appointment with Kelly to discuss our remodeling. We let Kelly know we were working with a budget and he understood. The following day we received his estimate and we were pleased with it. Mary, Kelly’s wife is the designer and was so pleasantly helpful in choosing the products needed to start the project. They made our experience a pleasant one. Phenomenal experience with Kelly and Mary Smoak from start to finish. They are an absolute pleasure to work with and will exceed your expectations. We did a major remodel of our kitchen, bar, bathroom, laundry room, and mudroom. This included redesigning the whole floor plan, moving exterior walls, moving exterior doors and a ton of windows. They had us back in the space in 4 months which was much quicker than expected. Designing the space and picking out all of the details was so much easier with Mary’s help. After flooding during Hurricane Idalia, they not only worked with us through the rehabilitation and remodeling work, but also provided advice in working with our insurance provider. Unlike other larger companies that may have taken advantage of us in this situation, KSC was very supportive, helpful, and responsive to any questions we had throughout the entire process. We were fortunate enough to meet Kelly and Mary in August of 2023 when they remodeled our primary bathroom (see review below). So, when our house flooded for the very first time after Hurricane Helene, I knew exactly who to call. The first thing Mary wanted to know was if everyone was ok. Next, we got down to business. I was totally in shock and had no idea where to start. Fortunately Kelly and Mary did. Mary assured me that everything would be ok and that our house would be better than before the flood. They helped to guide us through demo, remediation and rebuild. They were with us every step of the way… giving advice, helping us to make decisions, and providing top notch subcontractors to finish the job. We made a couple of design changes to our original floor plan and we couldn’t be happier. Our house is beautiful and even better than we imagined it could be way back in September after the flood. Kelly and Mary Smoak were a pleasure to work with. We had a total bathroom remodel which included moving plumbing, moving walls and electrical. From the minute we signed the contract until the job was completed, they were 100% invested. We received daily communication from Kelly letting us know who would be working and when and also letting us know if there were any changes in work plans. Mary was extremely helpful with the design. She listened to my vision and found a variety of choices for me to pick from…vanity, fixtures, tile, mirrors, paint, the whole nine yards. All of the subs who came to our house were respectful, professional and most importantly cleaned up at the end of each day! We were quoted a timeframe of 6 to 8 weeks for our project. They finished early!!
