I recently rented an apartment, I wanted the ducts cleaned, im the renter but still paid to get it done, they came out and just trying to up sell me. $2000. All I wanted was ducts cleaned. So agreed on 196 on my 4 vents being cleaned. When guy got here he said he could do the ducts and fogging for 400. Im an hvac cert tech that does maintenance. So I can do it all ,just didnt have the brushes to do the ducts. Figured for the fogging by time I got the chemical and all at the store. 400 is fine just get it done. So first time they clean vents and fog it, once they left I looked at my before and after pics, for 400+tax=$423. I barley saw any difference. So called and asked if they can come re do it cause im unhappy. They gave me attitude about it. But they finally came back out. Guy re brushed ducts and used kilz to make it look better. But they put the vents on backwards,so took off vents and still looked bad. So I took ten min. Took my own small wet/dry vac and my hand and cleaned the vents way better than he did ,twice. Also left my apartment horrible and extremely dirty the 2nd time. So after paying $423, leaving my place a mess. And still not doing a good job ans having to do it my self. They seem like all they want is to upsell. Do a quick crappy job and nust collect and dont care about the customer other than up selling them and taking there money. Don't recommend them to any one. Unless you want to just waste time and money.
So first time.they tried to uncharted me to almsot $2000.00 Told them no tons of times, told them duct cleaning only. Second tech to clean comes up sells me to fog+duct cleaning got $400with tax $423. He leaves im unhappy with duct cleaning. He comes back, doesnt vacuum up the ducts after using the brush in them, do3snt vaccum all the junk around my apartment,doesnt re fog it ,so if fogged it,he goes and re cleans it,the fogging chemical is brushed off. So that was a complete waste of $200. So I had to take my ducts off after he left,vaccum all the dirt left in my duct work and all the dirt on my floor, bath rug and in dogs water dish and food dish, as well as my floors and kitchen counters.

Eco Air HVAC is a solid, trustworthy company. They’re fair with pricing, easy to deal with, and don’t try to push things you don’t need. Overall, very reliable and straightforward. I highly recommend them.

i hired this company & will never do it again. Poor workmanship employees talk bad about owner. owner doesnt care so why should they. Never use this company. If you do you will regret it.

Avoid at all costs... installed a new 8k unit and installed the fan out of balanced and still tried to charge to fix it. Their good employees have left and we use them for home and 20,000 sq ft. office. TERRIBLE.

We’ve used them in the past and the experience had always been great. This most recent experience warrants a 1/5. I placed a service call at 5:13 and almost three hours later we still had not received so much as a phone call back from a technician. I called again to check the status and was basically told they will try again. No apology, no remorse, nothing. The customer service has definitely gone down hill.

POTENTIAL BUYERS BEWARE OF GATOR MECHANICAL. In April 2014, we purchased an air conditioning system from GATOR MECHANICAL OF TAMPA BAY, INC. , which also included the replacement of all duct work, thermostat, new pan, hanging kit, and various miscellaneous items for the air conditioning system.

On June 16, 2018, the air conditioning ceased working. We contacted GATOR MECHANICAL and a technician arrived June 20th. Later that same day, a GATOR MECHANICAL rep phoned to advise that the manufacturer provided permission to replace the whole condenser and not just the compressor; however, the manufacturer would not be responsible for the labor cost.

The following day, two GATOR MECHANICAL technicians arrived to replace the unit with a new condenser. One of the technicians advised that this particular compressor is a model that the manufacturer has been having multiple problems. The two technicians were here three hours and charged us $1,200.

We phoned GATOR MECHANICAL to express our dissatisfaction with the associated cost. To date, we have not received satisfactory replies to our concerns. Specifically,
1. Since as the technician advised that this particular compressor is one that the manufacturer is having multiple problems with, why didn’t GATOR MECHANICAL contact us to advise of the issue(s) prior to our unit not working?
2. Why it would take two technicians three hours to exchange the condenser?
3. We believe the labor charge of $1,200 is unfounded.
4. We have since learned that when a compressor (condenser) is faulty within five years, the unit should be replaced - including the labor - at no charge. Two local a/c service companies advised that upon an a/c system replacement, they will cover all parts and service for 12 years. GATOR covers only one year! And, the companies DO NOT require one to purchase extended warranty!
5. We still have not received a receipt for GATOR MECHANICAL services. Nor any documentation indicating a new condenser was installed and that the warranty extends an additional five years.
6. We had to provide a postdated check to GATOR, but it was ignored and cashed. Consequently, our bank issued a non-sufficient funds bank charge! When questioned, GATOR advised “it is against the law to postdate checks”! Not true.

We believe we were treated unfairly and taken advantage of by GATOR MECHANICAL of TAMPA BAY.

My initial call was to clean my ac unit - NOTHING was wrong with it. About 2 weeks later, it stopped working. The guy came out again & told me he could not find a problem, but if he had to come again, I would need a new unit, even though I told him that I checked several times & the fan wasn't working. He told me it was. It happened again & I called someone else who told me the fan wasn't working & he had it fixed in 1/2 an hour. I believe Gator Mechanical was trying to set me up to buy a new unit, even though I have a commercial unit that was put in brand new in 2012. They will try to say "they have no record of me as their customer, but my invoices from them clearly state Gator Mechanical. I found all kinds of complaints about them on the internet.
